WARNING! Do not give this guy any money - he is a scammer with a long list of unhappy customers! No – The positive review below and others on the internet are written by this guy himself, he has at least 4 identities that I have uncovered, and seems to create more and more as time goes on. He continues to sell on ebay and gumtree despite the fact that his properties are now in mortgagee possession and none of his clients can access what they have… Read more

On December 1st 2015 we dropped off a plasma cutter to be repaired at Weldsmart Canningvale. After months of phone calls someone finally returned our calls in March and said it would cost $600 to fix, we said great, we need it urgently to fill client orders. These clients had already been waiting months already. After more unanswered phone calls we began to receive emails from Jason Ghannoum from the email address containing the name Jionni Gambino and others with the name Jason Ghannoum, and weldsmart sales. On the 11th of May he emailed to ask if we would prefer to trade the plasma in, and we decided to trade the old one in for a newer model and told him so verbally and via email. On May 18th we received the following email

Subject: Re: The plasma cutter

Hello Shaun,

Sorry for the delay as my health has been very up and down with the slipped discs (5) and the advanced rheumatoid arthritis (im only 35) has been crazy. So I spent some time with the unit as per last weeks email. We have a few options. We can fix it, upgrade to a new one (your dad was going to), or trade it in. If you wanted a brand new one we can get you a 100a or 120a. They would be around $1300 with the trade in. To repair the boards it would be roughly $600-$800 for parts and labor. This will be of course with a 1 year warranty on all parts. If you wanted to trade it in and upgrade , I will give you 3 years warranty coverage and $100 of consumables for the torch. I would personally upgrade to the one that uses the p80 plasma torch as consumables are delusionally cheap. italian a101 torch like your current one is $5 per tip and p80 would be $1.50 each. We can also get you 120a, Let me know and ill sort you"

We replied immediately and received another email on the 23rd May asking us to call to discuss what plasma cutter we wanted. Which we did, then did a direct deposit into his business account for $1500 being for the plasma cutter, a warranty, and consumables. BIG MISTAKE!

Quick delivery was promised, but over the next 5 months this guy cited multiple reasons for the delays, his divorce, his meetings with his lawyer 2-3 times per week, visits to the doctor, a hold up at customs, lost shipping containers, the fact that PayPal had frozen $18k of his money in September, as well as $17k in August (a result of unhappy ebay customers not getting what they paid for I am sure) and the Chinese public holidays, wow they have a lot, unfortunately for this guy I checked the holidays in China and only once would they have interfered with delivery, not like 8 times.

He even went as far as sending us photos of the parcel on its way to us, he had taken photos of it in his car, another in his house, he even sent tracking numbers that when typed in online actually worked, but never actually arrived to us. He even emailed copies of mailing labels, when really for months and months on end he had no real intention of sending us the item.

I spoke to him on the phone and via email to arrange a time I could collect the plasma cutter from the business address in Canningvale, and on at least 3 occasions we made a time and date for me to collect, only when I arrived the place was locked up and no one would answer the door. Jason would also not answer his phone or emails during my attempts to collect what we had paid for. Disappointing considering it was a 500km round trip for me to collect the plasma, a waste of time and petrol for nothing.

This is just one of many emails saying our delivery was on it's way -

Then we had emails from Brad, Greg, Jionni, and others all saying that Jason was ill, sick, getting divorced, at his lawyers office, overseas, uncontactable, a missing person and on and on it went. All the emails were worded the same with the exact same spelling mistakes, appearing as if they were all written by the same person. The positive reviews I have found online, on ebay etc. are all very similar in wording and spelling mistakes to the emails he has sent.

After spending $$ we really could not afford consulting lawyers, we asked for our money back in correspondence dated 15th September 2016 as we were entitled under Australian consumer law.

He replied that it was on it's way, it had already been sent. Well a plasma arrived late October. Without the extra consumables we had paid for. The plasma certainly didn't look like it was worth what we paid, it is a far cheaper model.

We were desperate to use it, some of our long term clients had given up hope of waiting for it to arrive so their job could be finished, these clients went to other suppliers. Our business suffered financially as a result of these clients taking their business elsewhere. As a small struggling business we just simply could not afford to pay another $1500 for a new machine, when the one we paid for hadn't arrived and the old one was still unrepaired. Court proceedings take time and we really needed a plasma cutter urgently, right away.

We had the plug installed by an electrician and from the first time it was plugged in the machine emitted a thick black smoke. We immediately phoned (went unanswered as always) then emailed and received the following reply on 16/11/2016 -

"Hello,

Can you please confirm the plug was installed by a licensed electrician etc. We have never had one of these models blow before and the manufacturer doesnt believe us. I told them to have someone arrange a collection from you. Jason is not in town but I am running it all for him without restrictions. Went over your notes and apologise for all the troubles you have experienced with the previous guys etc and in regards to your fathers passing. With that said,im sure Jason would also appreciate your concerns and understanding in regards to his life falling apart at the seem of every edge.

I can report with "some" confidence that after nearly 2 years..... slowly but surely things have started with a 180degree rotation in a postive direction for him as of recent. I digress and would appreciate your best collection address and your phone and details and the time frame to have it collected etc. I have instructed the manufacturer to refund but they are going on and on about how refunds are not granted etc. I said my customer isnt sending anything back unless a brand new one shows up and when i say shows up i mean within the next 5-7 days max. I will advise you immediately when i get a reply. I have written a detailed explanation in reply. Dont worry this wont drag on as I am on top of it

Regards

Greg"

This was the last contact we had. No one will answer our phone calls. A visit to the business address in Canningvale showed that the place was again locked up and no one inside, except for this time there was a note on the door saying the place is in mortgagee possession. So now we have one plasma that is clearly faulty, we cannot get our money back, we cannot get a warranty repair and we can't get back our original machine. But unfortunately like us, by the time you read these bad reviews it will be too late!

WELDSMART MIG350 INVERTER WELDER THREE PHASE – Just wanted to say I have had nothing but positive things to say since the owner Jason has been running the company again. I had a problem with a welder and he not only happily fixed it free of charge but he gave me a $100 helmet for the previous muck around of the previous employees. I ended up buying a Mig350 and it runs better than my old Transmig.  Show details

Worst customer service and products I've had – Brought and Weldsmart acdc tig with foot control and a separate Mig welder and helmet. From the canning Vale Perth store The welders turn up with totally the wrong Mig that I paid for. I ring up and the sales guy said that there was no stock and just to use that machine till stock arrives and he would call. 6 months later no machine and the… Read more

machine that was sent was used twice for a totally of 15mins and failed.. Sent it back. Asked for the machine I paid for and still no reply after 6weeks.

The tig come with a foot pedal that doesn't even work on that machine.

And the helmet doesn't stay dark while welding. Great for your eyes.

Do not recommend this company or products

Performance – Machine was fine when running for just 2 weeks!! then started to cut out and over heated badly what a shame it appeared to be a good machine. my brother is a top boilermaker by trade and recommended it and feels the same as me, very disappointed. Yes the price was good but obviously the value is not there for a machine that promises so much but delivers little.

Warranty Support – Waste of Space. Take your money and thats all they care about. Trust me you have no warranty at all. emails are useless and backup support is NILL. You will only find this out when your item fails. Which it will trust me.Products only as good as it back up none from this lot so far makes there equipment worth less

Great prices Great Service – Bought an oxy acetylene kit with LPG "upgrade" kit. It was delivered to my door in Sydney within 5 days from Perth. It's mainly used for heating & bending. Hasn't let me down at all in the year since I bought it. Everywhere I looked in Sydney they wanted to sell me 2 complete kits, 1 oxy/acetylene & 1 for oxy/lpg which meant 2 x torches, 2 x sets… Read more

of flashback arrestors etc. so I was looking at $600.00 or thereabouts locally.

The weldsmart kit included extra hoses, tips & regulator for LPG use and cost around $350.00 plus freight. Also the advice & communication from their staff was excellent at the time & since whenever a question has arisen.

Definitely would deal with these blokes again when the time comes to upgrade mig/combo welder as well

Weldsmart 200 MIG, TIG and MMA from Perth, Western Australia – I upgraded to the 200 from a 130 Weldsmart and it proved to be a good decission Easy to use and do fine adjustments on the run. Main use is MIG welding with gasless steel wire and stainless and aluminum with gas.It doesn't overheat and I spray each spool of wire with Inox to give a consitent wire feed rate and a better weld in a salty (coastal)… Read more

environment. Inox gives no problems and you won't get rusty wire in poor conditions.

Excellent communications by email or phone with Weldsmart in Perth and the owners handbook covers the machine well. I have had my machine for about 15 months and average use is 30 hours per week. A nice piece of equipment to use and no faults to date, I can't even think of a way they could improve it.

Great response – Since my last review, I was notified that the owner of Weldsmart was ill. He has since contacted my husband and I and has been extremely helpfull with our problem. Being unaware of his staffing issues, he has since replaced our welder with an upgraded version. I would recommend this company without hesitation.

WeldSmart Multifunction Mig-Tig-MMA welder – I bought the welder in July 2013 after comparing it with some of the big names like cigweld and unimig. The price point and the 2 year warranty as well as WeldSmart's staff knowledge had me sold. I purchased the spool gun package for around $1000 including the machine,8-Meter spool gun, autodarkening helmet, gloves, and a free roll of aluminium… Read more

wire. I bought the unit as i needed to weld up a shed as well as a small aluminium boat project i had laying around. I used the machine on saturdays and sundays and welded with it for around 6 hours each day without any issues at all. I had an old unimig transformer machine and this thing was not only more powerful but the weld beads came out nicer. All in all, i highly recommend this machine for its power, reliability, and price. It cannot be beat. Price, Power, Reliability, Warranty, and build quality
