myopin1, do you mean video's from an online source, or ones streamed from your home network and pc.(even just a drive attached to the WD or your router itself) because from the pc/home network you setup a media server and network share and then can place all the media to watch or listen to files in playlists (an optional method) or just use them straight from the pc folders if they are setup for, and giving the wdtv sharing rights. The WDTV also behaves like every other disk player or DVR I've owned in that when you return to a movie, you're given the option of resume or restart. Adding multiple bookmarks would be confusing. With chapter marks, fast forward and reverse, one can typically get close to a position of interest anyway. Still I find it behaves best when using the remote WD TV app on a smartphone than its normal remote (you have more options and faster response).

Does the wd tv Live media player model wdbgxtoooonbk have 1 or 2 years warranty?

I learnt recently that the warranty period is meaningless. The product should last for a "reasonable" time which is usually longer than the warranty is for. If there is a problem and the 12 months is up you still have the right to a replacement. Just mention the Dept of Fair Trading if the retailer disputes it.

I have a Windows Vista PC linked to a Windows 7 Laptop, using a private home wireless network. The WDTV Live finds and identifies my network immediately. Viewing ABC I-view and YouTube is great, also video, etc. via USB - but I cannot connect to my PC for acccess of files, music, pics., etc. All files are set up to share - as they do between the 2 computers. How can I log in to 'Windows' for access to computer files?

Hi Jean, I have my setup slightly differently. I run a separate box called a NAS. I just plug in hard drives, and they automatically appear on the network... However, if you're running windows and using a share, there are a number of resources around that should help.

You may want to start here,

If that doesn't help, try a web search for "wdtv live streaming network setup"

Hi Jean. A couple of things you can try. Check the share name of your home network - it's usually WORKGROUP (and this is what it defaults to in the WDTV), however some earlier versions of Windows use MSHOME - but whatever it is it does have to be the same between the computers and the WDTV. Also make sure that the network type is set to Home or Work - not public.

Lastly I would go to the WD website and download the owner's manual - it has some easy to follow step-by-step instructions for connecting to network resources.
