Longer term review, have owned the product for about 4 years, worked well and cleaned as it should, all good - until last 6 months or so and since then it has started to trip out the electrical safety switch (RCD) whenever the weather is very humid. After a day or so and the weather gets less humid it will be OK. Yes, have tested it and it's the… Read more

only appliance that is tripping the RCD (it's not combined earth leakage from this dishwasher and other things on the same circuit) as I've checked it by running it to a single (recently installed) powerpoint, which is on it's own new RCD circuit-breaker - and it alone trips it.

I know many appliances have a small amount of earth leakage (e.g. 1-3 mA) and may get worse as they age and when humidity is high (dry = better insulation) (most RCDs trip when there is 30 mA or more electrical earth leakage). I also realize dishwashers are particularly prone to earth leakage as their heating element get older then micro-fractures may develop in the insulation which allow it to absorb moisture from air when humid and which can allow enough electrical current leakage to trip the RCD - but I've had a few dishwaters and a couple have done this, but this is by far the worst example I've come across.

So, I guess I'm up to replacing the heating element (which is part of the inline pump), which will probably only last a couple of years before getting the same issue.

Don’t recommend buying Westinghouse appliances if you want any sort of decent customer service. After kitting out majority of my kitchen with Westinghouse appliances I’ve been extremely disappointed with the customer service provided by Westinghouse/electrolux. My dishwasher decided to malfunction two months after my warranty expired so I… Read more

contacted Westinghouse directly to see if they would provide any grace period. The way Westinghouse/electrolux palmed me off was very disappointing to say the least. The customer service representative assured me there was nothing they could do as the machine is out of warranty. Although under the guidelines provided by the ACCC it is very reasonable a dishwasher should last longer than the 26 months it has been in use. I then proceed to ask if I could speak to a manager or send my case to the escalation team where I was blatantly told no. After calling back the next day I managed to file my case to the escalation team and was told I would get a call back within 48 hours. After waiting more than 48 hours I decided to chase them to be told my case had never been submitted. This is very disappointing after spending thousands of dollars on Westinghouse appliances for them to palm off loyal returning customers. I would be extremely reluctant to purchase any more Westinghouse/electrolux appliances in the future after this poor experience as I would also strongly recommend my clients as a builder to stay away from Westinghouse if they are to provide this type of service.

Extremely Poor Customer Service – Ignored, Disrespected, and Hung Up On I purchased a Westinghouse dishwasher (WSF6604XA) in July 2021, and after less than 4 years of use, it has developed a fault — the fast wash cycle no longer heats the water or dissolves the detergent. I first contacted Electrolux Customer Care (who handles Westinghouse… Read more ·  2

appliances) via email on 7 May 2025. I received only a generic auto-reply (ticket no. xxxxxxxx) and was told someone would follow up. No one ever did. I followed up again on 20 May, but still heard nothing. I later discovered they had inexplicably contacted my nephew, who had nothing to do with the purchase and assumed it was a scam. On 22 May, I called their customer line. After being put on hold, someone picked up and immediately hung up. On 29 May, I called again and finally spoke to a representative who asked for proof of purchase which I had already provided in my original email. When I calmly expressed frustration and said I would not be paying a call-out fee for what may be a product fault, she abruptly ended the call while I was still speaking. This experience has been shockingly unprofessional. To be treated this way after purchasing not just a dishwasher, but also a Westinghouse fridge, oven, and cooktop, is unacceptable. Our previous dishwasher was another brand, cost much less, and lasted 15 years. This one hasn’t even made it to 4, and the support has been the worst I’ve dealt with. I will be: • Escalating my complaint to the CEO of Electrolux Australia • Lodging a formal complaint with NSW Fair Trading • Sharing this experience publicly to warn others Avoid Westinghouse and Electrolux unless you're prepared to be ignored and disrespected when problems arise.

Flimsy sliding draw wheels bust almost immediately! – Disappointed in our new WSF6604XB which we rejected a builders Technika to buy. We've loved our Westinghouse dishwashers over the years and specifically avoided getting the builder to install their house brand. What a mistake! While it cleans well, like all Westinghouse dishwashers, the crappy plastic sliding tray wheels bust off. When we went… Read more

back to get ours rectified, we noticed the demonstrator version in Harvey Norman also had a broken wheel - in the showroom!!! Westinghouse has to fix this, it's a design flaw or a specification blunder. The plastic fittings for the slider wheels are far too flimsy to last. Such a shame - avoid at all costs till they rectify this.

Not happy! – Bought this brand and paid more money thinking I would get a longer lasting and better quality product…Right on the warranty expiry date the machine started to get the smell of smoke from the back and not filling with water. I followed the trouble shooting guide of turning it off and resetting which worked for a couple of months until it was out… Read more

of warranty… Same problem again but this time it did not come back after the trouble shooting method! Contacted Electrolux to try and get a good will repair or replacement but they were unhelpful and unwilling even though it is only 4 months out of warranty! So I can pay $165 and whatever the parts cost or write it off ! Why do they make the cheap junk dishwashers only to break once the warranty is expired?! Not happy and will think twice before I buy any of the Electrolux product range again! I could have bought a cheap junk dishwasher for half the price! After seeing some of the reviews on this sight it looks like the quality and service at Electrolux has really gone off a cliff!

After review Was contacted by Electrolux after writing this review and they came to the party with a service visit and repair. Unfortunately the part was unavailable but has been ordered. Hopefully that will fix the issue and I will get at least another few years out of the machine. Time will tell!

Machine has been repaired though it was a bit of a journey. A little less disillusioned with the service now though I did have to write this review to get a resolution. Thanks to Electrolux for coming to the party and fixing the machine!

Load of junk – Firstly, it doesn't wash dishes very well, so often have to re-wash some items or wash them after by hand. Second, the 'drying' part of cycle does nothing since there's no exhaust fan or vent, so the dishes just bask in the hot/humid air and get covered in water marks. It should just end the cycle earlier so you can open the door to let steam out.… Read more

Not that it makes any sound to indicate it's done either way, so you have to keep an eye on it if you don't want streaks all over your dishes.

Worst of all, mine started throwing the earth leakage circuit breaker mid-cycle which went un-noticed the first time so we lost a whole fridge & two freezers full of food. The service tech found an internal leak & tried to blame 'improper dish-stacking' which 1. wasn't the case and 2. even if it was, shouldn't cause the machine to leak internally. Two weeks later machine came back with a yet another fault of not letting water in & throwing the 'insufficient water supply' error code even after confirming the tap is fully on and the water supply is of high pressure.

Off it goes for it's 2nd repair all within initial warranty period so might have another update following. Honestly this is a piece of junk, just like the Westinghouse air fryer we got at the same time, which the timer knob ground off and the cooking basket got all buckled all within 6 months of fairly occasional use.

Do not recommend.

Best dishwasher I have ever owned! – I love this dishwasher! Cleans perfectly, have not had to rewash anything yet! Quiet operation. I do rinse before loading, it was installed Sept and still looks brand new! Show details

Worst Dishwasher Ever – Westinghouse WSF 6604XA This dishwasher wrecked my dishes, leaving a white scum that was almost impossible to clean off. The glasses had this scum on their bottom. The fine filter was clogged with the scum. I contacted Electrolux who make the machine. An unhelpful lady told me to read the instructions, and to use only the recommended tablets and… Read more

rinse aid. I had previously used powder and never had a problem with previous dishwashers. The Dishwasher Hints Sections tells me “If there are white stains on the dishes: A very small amount of detergent added” whatever that means. I followed some Google advice and ran the machine with 3 cups of white vinegar. Then with a dishwasher cleaner. Then the filter looked clean, and I’m now using the expensive tablets. The result has been that the scum has eventually cleaned off, but the surface of my plates has been permanently damaged.

Using the washing program advised in the instructions takes over 2 hours! I use a shorter one that works just as well/badly. The layout of the baskets is awful. The racks are at an angle that make it impossible to place dishes facing down toward the spinning sprays. So only the bottoms of the dishes were properly cleaned. Also, the racks are so close together that food remains on the dishes. So, the dishes need to be double spaced to be properly cleaned, and need to be washed when the machine is really only half full. Don't buy this machine. EDIT - Here is what happened: With previous dishwashers I had always almost filled the dishwasher powder into the cup. With this dishwasher the cup is 3 times too big! Difficult to see that from above. I then tested it by putting plates and dirty sauspans in it and setting it to 'Heavy', the longest and hottest. Result was that the powder was baked onto my dishes. I now wash sauspans by hand. I use the expensive tablets. I use a quick, cooler program. I push the top draw in fully so the rotor works properly. It works OK, not as good as my old machines.

Needs TLC – Purchased 06/02/21. Found that the rinse aid must be kept topped up to ensure effective drying. I had some issues with the outlet but once I started using premium tablets this eliminated the problem. So great dishwasher but expensive tastes in products. Poor quality, unreliable, been repaired 3 times so far – We've had this dishwasher for 6 months now and it's been broken for nearly 3 months. Westinghouse's repair agent just keeps changing parts but it will not run. This is on top of the fact that the dishwasher will not dry dishes when it is working, and the paint on the face is so soft that even wiping it with a wet cloth to remove fingerprints can… Read more

remove the stainless paint. What good is a 5 year warranty when they cannot fix it. Very disappointed at the huge waste of money.

It washes the dishes, but it doesn't dry them! – We had tried everything to get the dishes dry, and began searching for answers online, to see if we were missing 'pressing a button' or a step in the process. Alas, we found multiple reviews with the same issue. Would never recommend this model.

RUBBISH – Installed easily, no dramas. Read instructions, selected recommended wash cycle and left it to it. Noisier than previous Bendix dishwasher first noted. Cycle ended, dishes washed ok except they're left wet, drying doesn't appear effective, instructions state 'open door at end of cycle to assist drying', something I couldn't be bothered doing.… Read more

Both trays are BLACK plastic coated wire, making it very difficult to locate plates between them. I suggested to Westinghouse that white would be much better, operative agreed to pass on to Production. Yeah, right! A white external would have been preferable, I'll have to live with the stainless steel. I chose the five year extended warranty, rather than manufacturer's two years, I don't expect it to last 14 years as the Bendix did ADDITIONAL Purchased August 2021, flooded the kitchen 10th September 2022, fault "overflow, contact for service'. Advice from seller, 'turn off power, computer may reset'. Turned off power, switched back on, turned on diswasher, flooded the kitchen again. In TROUBLESHOOTING there are SIX scenarios, all six in the What To Do column state "Contact For Service". If these faults warrant a Service Call, why hasn't Westinghouse addressed these well-documented problems and FIXED THEM? I think I wasted my money on a poorly designed unit. Waiting on return phone call from Electrolux Westinghouse, promised by today - I'm not holding my breath CONTINUING SAGA. Contacted Electrolux Westinghouse AGAIN, was informed by a polite staff member that the they don't service their products but outsource maintenance/repair work, but "unfortunately we can't get anybody to service your area, you may have to take the dishwasher to a repair agent". What's the point of a fancy extended 5 year warranty, which cost an additional $149, if nobody can repair it????? We contacted the seller, The Good Guys, awaiting on a phone call to see if they can arrange repairs. You couldn't make this up HARD TO BELIEVE. I received a phone call from Westinghouse NSW and the gentleman advised me that there were NO repairers in my area and therefore a full credit would be made to the value of the Westinghouse lemon, leaving me free to purchase another make. My attention was drawn to the BECO machine 5 year factory warranty plus 10 years on the motor. I checked with a local store who had these in stock and asked him if, in the event that it required service, and that service wasn't available, what were my options. "Easy", was the reply,"we'll just give you another one". Is this the way that consumers will be treated in Australia from now on? Guess I'll leave it there, cheers all

Waste of money – Bought this machine today. Have had to use a Tea Towel to dry the dishes as everything was dripping. Have tried 3 different settings with no joy. There is no display to let you know where you are in a cycle or what setting you are using. Have had to double the size of the hole for the drain pipe in the side of my kitchen cupboard because of some square box at end of line that cant be undone. You can do better for your money. Show details
