3.5 years on and still an amazing dishwasher – Been impressed by this dishwasher from day 1. Owned it for around three and a half years and it's still working like new. Dishes come out sparkling clean and dry regardless of which powder/tablets we use, whether Coles brand or Finish the result is always the same. We now buy some cheap generic powder from the bulk store, dishes are always clean. We tend to put the dishes in really dirty, with three young kids there's never much time to be too fussy. Cleaning the filter only once every couple of months I'm surprised it's lasted this long but it just keeps on going and not missed a beat. With the top shelf raised there's still room on top for saucepans, and heaps of room on the bottom for large items like wok, oven trays etc. Great to have a machine that just works like it's supposed to.

Purchased at JB Hi-Fi.

One error message after another and non existent customer service – When this dishwasher is working it is actually fantastic, it washes really well and has great shorter cycles which are handy. But in the 2 months we have had it, we have just had issue after issue. We have been constantly getting 2 seperate error messages, the machine will stop working and then will just work again for a week and then the error messages will come up again. Customer service at electrolux are terrible and trying to charge me for a service call when the machine is only 2 months old. I wouldn't recommend the machine.

Would not recommend. Only lasted 6.5yrs Purchased 05/2019. Extended 5 yr warranty didn't start after the manufacturers warranty it started from the date or purchase. Will just be getting the cheapest brand next time as that's all I would expect then to last. I would expect a westinghouse to last around 10yrs Show details

It's just a rubbish dishwasher. The way it stacks is a poor design IMO, especially the glass/cup section, but the main issue is it sticks on the cycle for hours. You think it's finished but then it makes bumping noises & I have to forcibly end the program, that task itself not easy to do. We have always rinsed plates & cleaned filters.… Read more

Admittedly I haven't had a repairman in yet to diagnose the problem but we had a Bosch for many, many years & it washed great & had no problems until it wore out. My mistake for not buying another Bosch.

Time saving appliance! – Westinghouse is a great brand. I have grown up with this brand and my previous dishwasher was also a Westinghouse which I loved. This dishwasher doesn't quite match my previous one in terms of drying my contents but does a good wash. It is water efficient and power efficient. Show details

Does the job without complaint – I have had this dishwasher for 3 years now and no problems. No leaks, no faults, no breaks. I would buy again if I had to. Everything has pros and cons though. The machine is very quiet, not as quiet as a bosh perhaps (which I owned before this and probably never again) . It simply does the job! There are some operating and setup questions though… Read more

not showstoppers. The glass stem rest on top shelf is a mystery; 1. the arm clicks into place when vertical and there is no way at that angle to rest a wine glass stem and base onto it without hitting the top of the casing. I usually have at least one item I can put on the shelf to rest the arm on and achieve a lower 45 degree rest. 2. The eco wash is over 2 hours!? Maybe eco water but not eco power! 3. There is a setting gap, I feel, between ‘time save!-‘heavy’ (then you have ’intense’). Maybe it’s the semantics but sometimes I have a very full load but it’s not full of greasy pots that would need ‘heavy’ . Any way either setting works ok. 4. The buttons on the front are not stainless steel but painted plastic - like most modern appliances these days - and the paint quickly wears off making the appliance look a little shoddy in a nice kitchen. (Picture). 5. Sone clips that click the plate rack fingers into place - allowing them to lie flat for pots also/ on the basket broke after 18 months . This is probably my biggest complaint.

AND so if that’s all there is to the issues, the fact that this dishwasher is reliable and quiet and washes suits me fine.

PS - in many cases those with clogged pipes/ pumps/tubes on any dishwasher need to run a hot intense wash regularly to move the grease build ups. This machine has a ‘hygiene’ setting. Use it!:-)

Overall, it works well but has a few quirks worth considering – The dishwasher performs well and has ample space for larger loads. While it looks sleek, there are a few things to consider. One issue is the condensation left on dishes after a cycle; this can be managed by using the 'extra drying' setting, which helps avoid the need for rinse aid (something I don’t see the point in buying). Installation was… Read more

problematic, and I discovered the hard way that a leak could result from the hose being pinned at the back—thanks to Sydney Appliances for that oversight. If you experience leaks, check your hose positioning. The top rack's layout is less user-friendly; glasses and cups need precise positioning to get properly cleaned. On the other hand, the bottom rack is more efficient and well-designed for easy loading.

Not a good dishwasher, broke after 2.5 years – Not my choice, we bought a developer special house and of course it's filled with cheap appliances and yes particular brand this is one of the many cheap junk in the house. Dishwasher looks great, however that's probably the only positive. Doesn't wash very well, doesn't have a cutlery tray, doesn't dry very well, etc. And best part, 2.5… Read more

years into use (on average wash once a day, if not every 2nd) and it's dead. Threw an F5 error.

Sure, tried to replace the solenoid valve inlet hose ($155 later) no dice, still broken. Pulled apart the unit and noticed the diverter valve is leaking and most likely the diverter valve itself is seized hence it's unable to diverter the pump from wash to drain. I took it apart to see if there was any foreign objects jammed inside, but nope, just looks like a poorly designed stepper motor jammed inside a fragile plastic housing.

Funny part too, whoever put on the hose clamps at the Westinghouse factory totally missed most of hose barb/beads. Pretty much pointless even having a hose clamp there!

Where's your QC? Come on guys, can't be that hard.

Anyhow, will replace that, if that fails, I'm going to buy a Bosch dishwasher and enjoy a dishwasher that actually clean dishes well and won't break after 2.5 years.

Like I said, I would never buy these brand, just happened to come with our developer special (jam in cheap appliance) house.

Terrible product – After six months of use the upper spray arm began detaching itself during wash cycles. silent after a week.

The retailer was advised that parts would arrive (one month after ordering) however they never did and has now had to strip parts out of a display model dishwasher in order to repair ours.

I would advise anyone in NZ considering purchasing this brand of appliance to think very carefully before they do; probably check with your local service agents as to their experiences getting parts. I personally believe this company and anyone selling this product in this country is in breach of the NZ Consumer Gaurantees Act by not being able to provide repairs in a timely manner. One month is not good enough just to get parts for seven month old dishwasher.

As for the Electrolux service experience, if I could rate that lower than 1 star I would. Good luck ever getting them to follow up emails or phone calls when you do have a problem. There are many other manufacturers I would recommend ahead of these guys. In hindsight we should never have purchased this brand.

Does what it should – I always read reviews before purchasing big ticket items like this, and they left me somewhat hesitant. to purchase another westinghouse.

Internally, this one is almost the carbon copy of our old one. It has changed from hinged doors/twist cap for detergent and rinse aid (respectively) to sliding ones. It's nice and roomy- easy to fit a full day's worth of dishes.

The control panel is easy to use and has a sufficient amount of features and settings including a time delay and child lock. I do worry that the grey paint will wear off like it was doing on our previous dishwasher.

We had an issue with the inlet hose initially, it seemed the internal rubber shifted and it ended up leaking and flooding our kitchen cabinet and floor, possibly causing unseen water damage under our cabinetry.

My only other qualm is the cutlery baskets - they don't fit larger items of utensils.

Overall, cleans well, functions like it should and is nice and quiet. Just beware proper fitment of the hose.

Love this Dishwasher!! – Love this dishwasher! It’s the first dishwasher we have owned so nothing to compare to, but I think it does a great job!! We’ve owned it for almost a year now. certain angle so that it doesn’t stop the water spinner thing. Also I find it hard to place glasses on the top shelf, we’ve had a couple tumble over and fill up during a cycle and also a couple crack when they’ve fallen. The seal around the edge gets disgusting and has to be removed to be cleaned every few months, it’s not particularly easy to do. When closing our door, the right side gets a bit stuck and has since cracked on the inside top edge. It hasn’t affected the performance, just a little inconvenient with the way you have to close it. It’s nice and quiet! I think it was an excellent price for such a quality product. I looked it up using Product Review in the store before we decided to go with this model and am happy I did!

no longevity – we had this installed in January of 2018, and it was great. It was easy to use, quiet, easy to clean, we scraped the dishes but didn't rinse, and used the machine cleaners every couple of months. solid machine for almost 6 years. Then it just died. it started with F2 error codes every now and then. It was always in the final drain, and if we turned if off and back on again it immediately drained. we checked everything and there were no physical blockages. that went of for a week or so, and then it just cascaded - F2 error codes every wash, then some of the buttons stopped working, it would stop the wash cycle after 15 mins, the tablet case stopped releasing, the delayed start stopped working. It just went from annoying to dead in the space of about a month. we were waiting for someone to come look at the draining issue when all the other stuff started. I'm glad they hadn't made it out to us before that because they estimated "about $500" for labor and parts just to fix the draining error. that would have been a total waste of money since it was dead before they were booked to come out. I expected more than 6 years out of a dishwasher. I have since found so many reviews that say the same thing about this one 4-7 years and it dies spectacularly. I'm just glad mine didn't leak all over the inside of the cabinets like so many of the other reviews I have now seen. Needless to say we did not buy a replacement Westinghouse. this is now a brand I'll be avoiding.

Waste of money, my 4 year old washes better – Worst dishwasher I have ever owned. Noisy, didn’t clean, filter was insufficient and so spray area were blocked with food particles, f1 and f2 errors, leaks damaging my floorboards and due to where I live, was impossible to get a repairer to attend while under warranty. Got a new Bosch and literally cried. Have been putting up with this for 4 years. Issues started within 6 months but could never get anyone to look at it. Show details

3 repairs in 6 years, and it's dead now – It's dead after only 6 years. It already had two repairs each time costing $200+ and it's completely dead after getting an F1 error and leaking on the floor a few days ago. The technician said it was unrepairable and suggested buying a new one, anyway, I was still charged the flat service fee of $165. Such bad quality. The best dishwasher I've had – It's my 6th dishwasher and absolutely the best. Fantastic spacing to take 15 place settings. Just a very good design to utilise space. Pointless extra settings, doesnt fit full size dinner plates – This machine washes 'ok' but really requires the max 2hr35m setting to be sure of cleanliness. Great dishwasher, destined to be another popular product – Great replacement for my very old Westinghouse "920" (a popular classic in it's day). run from about 4AM, so it uses off-peak power, and the dishes are warm when I unpack them in the morning. But the best feature for my peace of mind is the water shutoff. If it has a leak, or a burst hose, the dishwasher shuts off the water. Also if there's a blackout the water is shut off. And, in the case of a blackout, when power is restored, the diswasher will continue with the cycle it was doing. Only one gripe: I cannot find a way of stacking my bigger bowls.

Didn't Go The Distance – We bought our Westinghouse dishwasher when our previous cheap dishwasher failed after 5 years. error codes and stopping. As a work around we found that other wash programs still worked with no error codes so we used them. Then about 6 months later we started getting an F9 error all the time and stopped after 3 minutes in any wash program. We were very disappointed that our lightly used more expensive dishwasher failed sooner than the cheap one did. I am sure it could be fixed, it still looks new inside and out however when I started making enquiries it was going to cost $125 for a house call for someone to tell me what's wrong with it, then most of the overpriced major components are at least $150 - $200 plus fitting so before you know it the repairs are more than 50% of the cost of a new one which they say is the magic number when not to fix it and buy a new one. So it's game over, at just over 4 years old it's landfill. People don't want to be buying dishwahers every 4 years they want them to last at least 7 - 10 years. Don't bother reading glowing reviews where the dishwasher is under 2 years old, almost any of them will last that long. What really matters is what happens after 2 years when there is no warranty left. I don't know what the problem is - cheap components? poor quality control? So if you are reading this Mr Westinghouse you need to lift your game, consumers expect more. We did go and buy a new one, so fingers crossed it's not another lemon and yes it's not a Westinghouse.

service. (Other cheaper decent options available at the time; we'd heard good things about Westinghouse in the past)

Working for 3+ years with daily washes (50min mostly; a couple of rinses only). Noisy. If you want your dishes fairly dry, it's best to open it up manually and leave it slightly ajar when it finishes (despite claims of drying technology)

At this point, the power button began to fail. Press it in and 95% of the time the machine turns off again. Also, if off, but still pressed in, it can turn itself off and on randomly over night.

Also, the finish has worn off on a couple of other buttons.

Service experience was good and bad. 1 hour 45 minutes+ on the phone waiting to talk to someone. When I did get someone they were quick to arrange a service in 2 weeks time.

They even called me a week early when there was a cancellation so I could get that.

$150+ flat fee for call out and servicing time ~$50 for the power button

But now at $900+ I would expect 5 - 10 years to get out of the dishwasher.

Fails at its basic function – Not at all satisfied with this dishwasher. I am not chasing anything fancy in a dishwasher, just clean dishes. Since the get go, this has failed to do that. solid waste on dishes when they go in, I regularly check the filter and yet it still doesn't clean properly. Rinse aid helps a little but not massively. Tried different detergents to no avail. A stray grain of rice left on a dish will clog the sprayer holes every time, requiring manual removal which is difficult as there is no ability to full take the spray bar apart. Detergent rarely fully dissolves from the chamber and the door seal leaks from time to time (mostly doesn't leak though) and requires a few pushes to stop the leaking. Don't know if this was just a lemon and bad luck but after three years of persevering, I can say I won't be buying another westinghouse brand dishwasher. No name brands I have used before have far surpassed this one, as in the dishes come out consistently clean and without the need to pre wash. Very annoyed to have wasted my money on this dishwasher.
