Before I left for my month long holiday, the oven worked perfect. Now home, oven just won’t hit up. After one hr. It just went up to 35 degrees. I noticed there is a clock face next to the timer. Thermometer is showing that it is heating up Please help.

Hi, our new build has had this oven installed. After using (both times) heating bread rolls for dinner, 15 minutes and turn both knobs off, but the oven keeps heating. Checked the fans and both have turned off, but still pumping out heat. Thought maybe it does this as a cooling down technique, but after 3/4 hr, still heating. Only way we could turn off is to turn off at Meter Box. Has anyone else experienced this? Will certainly be contacting our building company on Monday as it is just not right.

I cleaned my oven Westinghouse WVE916SB with baking soda and left it overnight. The next day took everything off inside including the front door and wiped off. After cleaning them off outside and dried, put them back and tried the oven if it’s working but I noticed that there’s a clock next to the time when turn the oven on. The temperature doesn’t heat up way past 30.

My Westinghouse WVE916SA oven is not heating up. I have checked for continuity on the bake and grill elements as well as the 2 fan elements and the temperature sensor they are all good. The touch display panel is working fine and temperature still can't go up on all functions. What can be the problem?

Westunghouse oven WVE916SA not heating up

OK. 900mm westinghouse oven (the worst ever) takes ages for the oven to reach temperature, if ever. The temp light remains on and we now just wait for 20 mins then throw the food in. Do you think the thermostat is faulty?

Hi, We used our oven in the morning and came back to it that night to use again and it was in safe mode. We took it off safe mode but now the oven won’t heat up past 30 degrees? Can you help with this issue? The bell is also flashing which wasn’t before? Thank you!

It’s in demo mode. This appears to just randomly happen sometimes. There are two different ways to switch off demo mode depending on the serial number. You possibly have one of these in your owners manual. If this doesn’t work it will be the other method. With the stove in standby mode press and hold the on off button until it switches on and back off again (it will start beeping rapidly)when it turns off immediately press all three buttons on the other side (+ - temp) until it beeps 3 times. Then it should work. If not try again. It can take a few goes Demo mode is stored in the display panel so replacing the panel will have the same result only more expensive.

Just another thought. If the bell is flashing the timer could be set so it won’t start until the set time. But after 3 months you probably would have figured that out.

Thank you AMG!!!! I have been battling my oven for 24hrs trying to get it out of what appeared to be DEMO mode although it didn't display 'DEMO'. Everything seemed to be working but oven did not heat up. I called Westinghouse and they couldn't help, eventually said I needed an engineer, $150 call out charge. After one last ditch google I found your post and hey presto! Worked first time.

Good job thank you. Worked like a charm. The cleaners managed to turn Demo mode on just by spraying cleaning product on the controls. The key point I have just discovered is the + - temp buttons all need to be pushed at the same time not one at a time.

Thanks AMG. We had the same issue but your instructions worked perfectly. The manual instructions did not work. Much appreciated.

AMG you are a genius. Thank you. Same problem here and it worked. Our oven only beeped once though and had to hold the buttons for about a minute.

My front control panel has fallen off and disconnected from oven. Managed to connect the panel back yet oven won't turn on. Check mains and that's all fine.

My owen won't heat up. Was working before.

I reckon you elements are dead. You can find the part online and it's pretty simple to replace. There's two of them in the back. If you're doing it yourself, make sure you switch off the power to the oven at your switchboard.

Thank you for the reply. What is the name of those parts if you don't mind. Appreciate your help

My oven won’t heat up, nor the grill. I’ve noticed that there is a clock symbol next to the time when the oven is turned on that wasn’t there before. Can I reset the oven somehow? I’ve isolated it from the main board but that hasn’t helped.

Matt R.
Matt R.

I think you've accidentally put your oven into timer mode which means it will turn on at a delayed time. Hold the button where the clock symbol is until it disappears and see if it works then. If it doesn't your elements are most likely blown (they all wear out) and will need to be replaced. You can find the part online and it's pretty simple to replace. There's two of them in the back. If you're doing it yourself, make sure you switch off the power to the oven at your switchboard.

Thanks for answering, I’ve tried what you said but had no luck. Could you explain the steps to try and clear it again please? I’ve tried pressing the + button which is next to the clock but no joy.

oven model WVE916SB-Westinghouse 900mm under bench oven with twin fans.I noticed that the left side fan is not turning the right side is ok.Upon inspection the fan motor is trying to turn the fan and if you move it by hand it will run at a similar speed to the other one. When you turn the oven off the fan stops much sooner than the other one. There is some slight resistance when you try to turn the affected fan by hand when compared to the okay fan.Comparing the fan blades visually the left sided fan is very clean when compared with the right one which would suggest to me that the affected side(left) has probably never worked or if not that has done very little work

When oven is set to 210 fan forced, it will reach that temperature and then shortly after will trip power. There does not seem to be an isolating switch or fuse so it is a trip to the external meter box. What is causing this.

Hi . When we turn of the oven after cooking the top light stays on for app.10 min at half strength . Also ever since that started it seems that no matter what function its on it takes so much longer to cook. So I assume its cooking at half strength. What could be the issue?? Thanks.

Sell the oven and ditch it will save you headaches in the future and oven will breakdown or explode just after warranty. Don't go through the same headaches I went through. The brand is lousy and cheap.
