Temporarily unavailable – Nice coffee beans when you can get it, has said temporarily unavailable well it must be 12 months now so I would say no longer available thanks Woolworths , you can't even answer when it's going to be available again

Very bad. Minus 10 stars – Why change what was already good. Woollies obviously found some suppliers that wanted to off load the bean that don’t make the cut or the Beans that fall on the ground for $1 per tonne . The upside is I can use it as round up . Kills weeds instantly it’s that bad. Show details

Truly awful – Bought a bag of these - the allegedly new/improved ones in the blue bag. Not sure what is in the bag but it certainly doesn't taste like any coffee I've ever tasted before. Sort of muddy, composty and bitter all at once. Straight into the bin. AVOID! Show details

Corporate Greed wins again! – This has been my favourite coffee for years. It is the only coffee that I have bought since I discovered it. I use about one kg per month and all my friends comment on how nice it is. I saw the new packaging and thought "they've freshened up the look" then I got the beans home and opened them and could tell straight away from the smell and look… Read more

that they were totally different! I cannot get a good cup out of these substandard beans. Does anyone at Woolworths actually drink coffee? Did they try this before they decided to substitute it for a have tried all types of grinds and I cannot get it to make anything like a drinkable cup of coffee! I am sure sales will drop off of this product and it will be a total mystery to the bean-counters (no pun intended) who analyze the sales figures and then it will be deleted from the range... Well done Woolworths!

Rating for new coffee - Bring back the original espresso coffee PLEASE – Tried the new Woolworths espresso coffee beans in the blue bag - threw the rest of the bag in the bin - YUK. Won't be buying the new coffee again. Please bring back the old Woolworths espresso coffee beans in the brown bag. Or if you have a stockpile of it anywhere can I have it?

Change for the worse – Have been buying this coffee for years, and now with new packaging and beans - terrible coffee. What used to be a good value and flavour filled coffee, is now week, bitter and cheap

Woolworths Coffee - What Happened!!! – Surprised many a friend who would never believe the great coffee they were drinking was Woolworths Select! Have been a loyal &loving! supporter of this coffee for the past few years, until just recently. Along with new packaging came new coffee beans and definitely not of the same quality of the previous coffee beans. I actually threw out the… Read more

remaining beans after only a half dozen coffees as my husband and I just weren't enjoying it. It was a great price for a great coffee. But now it would seem the low price is indicative of the coffee quality. What a shame Woolworths! I won't be buying this brand again.

Used to be good until recently – Up until about a month or so ago, I would have rated this 5 stars. It was probably the best bang for the buck coffee on the market. I know all the coffee snobs out there will be making skippy noises about supermarket coffee, but I know I'm not alone in this opinion. Woolworths have changed the coffee and the packaging. The new beans in the… Read more

mostly navy blue/light blue striped bag, are truly awful. The coffee (and I use the term loosely) is tasteless, watery & bitter. I can only surmise that the decision to change was profit driven, because it certainly has NOTHING to do with quality or trying to be the "Fresh Food People"

Best poor I've had in a while – I roast my own coffe in my wood oven but ran out. Was using lavazza and Vittoria but compared to my own roast they are stale and find it hard to get fine enough to get a good poor. I bought this coffee to give it a go, had to change the grinder straight away to stop over extraction as it's quite fresh compared to other store coffee. Once I got the… Read more

pour right it was quite good. The oil on the coffee tells me it has been roasted past second crack a fairly dark roast, just the way I like it. i see there are a few people whose like lavazza and vittoria and have not had luck with this. It may be that you just need to adjust the grind. Don't give up on it :)

Not discontinued, bought today, May 15, 2017 for $12 – This coffee smelled strangely musty and nutty in the pack when squeezed in shop. Yes it has a breather hole to get out CO2 which accumulates with roasted beans. The beans are dark, bordering on black and they are oily, very oily.. almost feel my container will need a grease and oil change afterwards. My grinder was difficult to empty due to the… Read more

oil residue of the oily beans. To the coffee... strong with no flavour and lingering burning in throat... washed down with a Lavazza to get rid of foul taste. Is this stuff full of insecticide or something? I have no idea why it's so bitter and taste strange. I originally said I would avoid this. Robert Timms, Lavazza, Vittoria may on the surface appear to be superior to this. The price is good, I did not die from drinking it, and it was originally going back to Woolworths. I did drink one cup to start with, all of it... so I had to change my review from 1 star to 2... But people are human and I think my taste was screwed up on Tuesday maybe, so by Friday I gave it 4 stars. It's just strong. The packet says strong. I don't drink sugar with it. I have it with a tiny bit of soy milk. Try it, but like me, don't be so fast to give it a bad rap.

Definitely try it – I drink a KG of coffee beans per week, after trying those on the Australian market and I like a strong coffee, price is good for a pensioner compared to others at 3 times the price. Woolworths are the best for my taste.

Well worth a try – I thought I would give this coffee a try as it represents quite good value. I grind it fresh. It is quite strong and it also has a strong after taste. I think it would be a bit strong and bitter as an expresso, but it makes a good strong latte.

found my new fave bean! – I absolutely love this coffee bean. I grind it fresh in my breville barista express, and boy does it make a great coffee. I like my coffee strong and flavour some. This definitely delivers. Not for people who enjoy drinking mild warm milk favoured coffees. I used to use vittoria, but will use this . For $14 a kilo you can't go wrong!

Woolworths Select espresso beans – Great Coffee. I fresh grind and use an old Saeco manual espresso machine to make a flat white with organic milk. Pretty damn good!

Insecticide with hints of coffee – Undrinkable - made an espresso had a sip, gagged, down the sink, in the bin. $5 well spent! Worst coffee I've ever tasted.

More Flavour than Standard Vittoria Coffee – Can not fault this coffee. If you like full flavour coffee then you will love this one. Took a chance and tried it because I found Vittoria Coffee lacked a strong enough flavour for me and was greatly impressed. I serve it to all my friends and family without disclosing the brand and have had great compliments each and every time. I drink it… Read more

without sugar and look forward to a fresh cup each and every morning. I freshly grind my beans as I need them which helps with the flavour.

Great coffee – I like the flavour of the woollies espresso beans. I think it's better that a lot of the other name brands. Great product Woolworths, I will keep buying and enjoying it.  Show reply

Gambled and lost – This coffee tastes worse than every other espresso coffee I have tried. Whatever they did to these beans has made it awfully bitter and it requires heaps of sugar just to be palatable. I don't even drink coffee with sugar ordinarily, I just can't drink this coffee without something to mask it's odd flavor. Normally the Woolworths brands are fine,… Read more

but they really dropped the ball on this one. I'm upset I bought so much as now I have to drink it all. Perhaps I should buy a dog and see if it will drink it, but I'm guessing it won't want to either. Smells and looks like normal coffee. Made me consider drinking tea instead which I know is better for me. Very bitter and has an odd, unpleasant taste to it.

Bad – Very bit and tried full cream and skinny milk and both both sizzled when it hit the coffee, by sizzle i mean the sound you hear when you add vinegar to bicarb soda, ive never seen that before, tried to work out why and the only thing i can put it down to was the coffee, kinda scary. But but to well roasted for my liking. It was the cheapest… Read more

Bitter, but otherwise good – I found the taste very strong and quite bitter. The bitterness is a big deal for me as I don't like it at all, but otherwise the coffee is very good value for money. It's currently the cheapest brand of coffee bean that I have been able to find in Woolworths. Price Too bitter.

Pleasantly surprised – Couldn't afford my regular, more expensive coffee when I ran out before payday, so I took a punt on the Woolies cheaper coffee beans (Select espresso ) and wow! was I surprised - I love it and will make it my regular bean .from now on. First time I've tried a coffee where I can taste flavours beyond the coffee taste. Smoothness and fruity taste

Woolworths Select Espresso Beans – This a a smooth, rich dark roast, it's become a favourite in my family. It is also very cheap for a good coffee, I see no point in spending $30 for a bag of Vittoria (which used to be the only beans I used) Not top of the range but makes a pleasant coffee though i'm not too sure about short blacks, I make lattes and cappuccinos with it and I use an espresso machine, I haven't tried this coffee with other methods. strong, smooth, cheap
