Hopeless service – XBox console was OK but Microsoft would not cancel my account. To stop them taking out the direct debt I had to cancel my card and re-set up all my other direct debts. Absolutely furious with the lack of customer service and support. Show details
Terrible – Update update update update update update update, or skip and play off-line!!!!!! What a garbage platform its become over the years. Oh and don't get me started on this random green static going on when I turn my console on.
Can’t load fort nite – Always asks me to check my connection and when it checks it I am connected. Then freezes when loading fortnight. I feel ripped off and can’t seem to talk to anyone from Xbox. I suggest try play station

Xbox One, I love you man – Xbox One is awesome. I have had my Xbox One since 2014, I love it. Great things about Xbox One: -Obviously, with xbox you have great access to games etc. and you have subscription options like Gold and Game Pass, which are very economical -You can set it up to control everything in your entertainment unit. For example, when I start up the Xbox, it… Read more
automatically starts up my TV, my stereo system and my cable box, and I control all of them using xbox voice commands. -Much more choice when it comes to apps; not the out of the box apps that come with smart TVs or Apple TV. For example, through the xbox I can access numerous streaming apps (Netflix, Stan, etc.) as well as being able to access streaming services via the browser app. -Play Station is crap.
Less than great things about Xbox One: -Microsoft discontinued the feature to control the menu by hand gestures -Microsoft discontinued Xbox Fitness -The voice commands don't always work, (but that provides some comedy, as for some reason it always listens to my wife - so the running joke in my house is that 'not even the xbox listens to me') -Some apps I've downloaded where junk, so that was a drag -Power cable/unit can be occasionally noisey, but that said, it is six years old -I find myself occasionally worrying about what I will do if the xbox ever breaks down, like I have seriously considered if I should buy a spare xbox one, just so that I have a backup in the event of an emergency. -Wii is still good.
Don’t set up an Xbox for your kids with their real birth year – We already had an Xbox one x and decided to buy an Xbox one s for each of my 2 children. The initial set up - one of the Xbox’s wouldn’t update and turned out to be faulty got it exchanged but wasted a whole day trying to trouble shoot a failed update. Personal details- typing email addresses and dob etc, lesson learned make sure you fake there… Read more
birth year unless you only want your 10 yr old to access only g rated content. Took many attempts to get the Xbox to accept the email addresses and passwords.
Installing games- not a problem
Handing what we thought was a ready to go Xbox to the kids- it was the stuff of nightmares constant errors and problems such as this is a child’s account you can’t play this already installed game without permission from an adult then the 1/2 hr on google trying to figure out how to give permission the constant running back and forward from one console to the other because everything needs to be done several times on each Xbox trying to add friends was the same thing you need permission but need to change 10 different settings on both consoles first. this took hours and was very unnecessary. If I didn’t want them playing the games I wouldn’t have bought it for them and no one is stupid enough to give PayPal passwords to a 10 yr old.
Surely we are done now? - nope not at all this game needs Xbox live it says the adult can share Xbox live to the Kids Xbox’s so let’s do that. Set up main Xbox as home Xbox try again- failed nope you can download the games that already been downloaded in the past but if you want to play relevant games that your friends are playing you’ll need your own subscription coz we don’t think we charge enough for our consoles, games, acesories etc, but then back on google trying to restrict there ability to use PayPal since we had to unrestrict everything else to make it usable another 1/2 hour I’ll never get back.
Feels like I bought a build your owny console kit I may as well have soldered the wires myself I had to do everything else anyway.
I bought them for my kids to play not so I could waste days programming them (that’s what Microsoft hires programmers for).
Preowned good value ps4 vs x box – Bought mine at eb games pre owned xbox one s Preowned. Great value at the time as the combo deals usually had games i wasn't interested in. If your tossing up between xbox or ps4. I have both and rate them the same. The specs tell a different story but seriously i cant tell the difference unless i have a side by side comparrison and even… Read more
then...who actually cares because your eyes adapt anyway and the visual difference is so small. Your tv quality and settings is actually more important.
Xbox beats ps4 on price and thats really the main reason i think its better. Taking it further with the new gen options it makes the xbox one original even more afordable and still plays new games just as good like assasins creed origins. 500gb is not enough BUT xbox were smart to give you a usb port. This means you can plug in a external hd. I have a powered 4Tb so yeah gaming for life and only cost me under 100 bucks. In fairness ps4 can do that too.
I bought the ps4 purely cuz im silly with my money but most my games lean towards xbox anyway and my ps4games are almost all exclusives.

Perfect console for gaming – I love the Xbox 1, it is great and the controllers are the perfect size for anyone’s hands, even my little sisters! If you like using keyboard and mouse you can use that too!
A good Home entertainment Unit – If you are looking for something that allows you to not only game, but watch movies, stream content and watch TV, The xbox one is a perfect console for you. It is indeed the jack of all trades when it comes to entertainment units. However Gaming on the console is weaker compared to the Playstation as the xbox is more centered for home… Read more
entertainment instead of hardcore gaming. that being said gaming on the original Xbox one is still viable and it is my daily driver apart from my PC. Would recommend to the casual gamer.
Better than ps4 – So I was a ps4 person for years, then decided to make the switch all I can say is wow, better cooling as the fan blows from the top, speed seems better, lack of games sometimes an issue but love the console
Negative reviews
Xbox platform Scam – The Xbox platform has two plans, a 5 dollar and a 16dollar per month plan. However there is a small clause attached that says the 5dollar will automatically convert to 16 dollar plan. So there is only 1 plan and 1 associated cost, without choice but it presents itself with 2 choices. Scamming people to subscribe with the 5 dollar(non-existent) plan, and it automatically converts and charges you premium. How is this crap legal?
The company only wants your money – The parts controlled by microsoft are almost always automated to save money and I've lost track of the number of chat bans I've gotten over banter I've gotten so fed up with it that I'm ready to ditch all my friends and got to PlayStation they care equally little but at least they don't have a bot gagging you for having fun
Ridiculously long time to play a game – If you buy a game, you have to download 50-90 GB of crap to be able to play it. Not to mention constant updates to the system itself that need to be downloaded. My PS4 takes 5 minutes from putting the disc in to being able to play. My x-box one takes 6-7 hours. I hate it...

Terrible downloaded games freeze – The downloaded games froze and did not display error codes and Xbox support took 2 hours and failed to solve the issues. The Xbox will turn itself off when I initially switch on the console.

XBOX one disaster – This console is an absolute nightmare, what happened to the days of inserting a disc and playing a game. This useless thing has to update the information on every game you want to play at a possible additional download cost, then download the game to the console. Ive been waiting 47 minutes so far and havent even played a damn games. The kids gave… Read more
up and walked off to play LEGO and guitar. Ive always been a PlayStation supporter and I can tell you all this was a huge mistake. Its getting packed up in the morning and returned to the place of purchase for a refund. What a joke. Im also out of pocket for 3 games I purchased.
120 characters cant explain. online support says Call our hotline. hotline is a robot that tells you go to website..! – Can’t get in contact with a support agent. I’ve been a loyal gold member for about 13 years and the service has always been crap but now it’s unimaginably awful
Poor install time – What ever happened to be playing a game straight away from when you turn it on on. I have waited an hour to install and update. This bites. Im buying a PlayStation
Buy a ps4 – Even with a stable and fast internet connection Xbox never stops being useless. Constantly slow, silly updates and worst of them all is the lies they tell you to buy
Never will be as Good as Nintendo or Sony – Xbox is probably one of the worst consoles almost every time I think hey I might play my Xbox it has an hour update and when it is finally done all of my games say took to long to start and even the help, guide and store don’t work. There need to be some serious improvements if they want to keep up with Sony and even Nintendo at the moment is better than this slow, clunky error filled piece of garbage.
Should have bought a PS4 – Takes ages to download games and need to pay game pass regularly to play games u bought from a store Will never buy an Xbox again. Should have stuck with play station
Shame on you – My grandson purchased a game online from xbox but accidentally bought it twice , he realised immediately that he had clicked on it twice and contacted xbox immediately but their response was too bad, they were not going to do anything about it! Shame on you for taking $38 twice from the account and refusing to refund one purchase to a 15 year old… Read more

You deal with kids every day , give a kid a break, show some compassion.
XBOX 1 Really Sucks! – It takes forever to download a game (over 24 hours one time) and one would think that once it is downloaded you wouldn't need the disc... WRONG! It also has to update each time you go to play a game, here comes another long 24 hours. I have never seen a loading percentage in decimals but here I am 30 minutes later and I'm only 3.1% installed,… Read more
WOOHOO I MIGHT GET TO PLAY THIS GAME DEFORE I DIE! If you like to play and complete a game before the next one comes out, pick a different console NOT XBOX 1!
High data burn and misleading labeling on games – Games and console need constant updating burning massive amounts of data. No quality control on games sold for console, after burning 30-40GB updating a disk game only to have games constantly crash or unable to locate files. Shocking customer support, you will be given endless run arround sent to a virtual customer support that diverts you… Read more

On back of games you have a compatibility table that lists what you need access to to play, (different game modes to Xbox one only or Xbox live) which often a lie. If you intend to play offline be very careful and do homework on google first as a lot of games listed as Xbox one playable actually need live.
So to sum up beware of hidden costs from data burn updating and been forced to play games online even if single player and downloaded massive updates. Often data costs way exceed the purchase cost of game.

Excellent value – Excellent console, Got the XBox1 S from Target on September 2018 for $349 with two controllers and two games for a good price. The console is Excellent and has had no issues, Very happy with my purchase. Would definitely recommend the XBox1 S over the X model who at the moment is way too expensive.
Not all bad – The console could be improved, the good : wireless control that can be charged , plays games like forza and halo that other platforms cant play, easy to click on games once loaded and automatically takes the cd in , The bad : Complicated to use , very brittle controllers , Console is very loud and unreliable , You always have to be online to play something, design of console and Name could've been a lot better,
Why do I need a degree to reconnect to the Net? – 1:Updates are too complicated and time consuming. 2:Came home, turned on console and it won’t connect to Net??? Wth? 3: why make it so hard and frustrating. 4: my first xbox and I have had nothing but troubles
Good simple fun – I used to be a PC person and I still kinda am but the Xbox One makes gaming much easier. After years of fiddling with settings, network issues and hardware/software incompatiblities I decided to try out the Xbox one and it was definitely worth it. Much less hassle and it may not be as fun as some of the games on the PC but definitely less stress which is one of the reasons why I game.
Terrible – The interface is slow and laggy, no support from Microsoft, internet is poor on all consoles, not many good games, bad sounds and paying for wifi+xbox live is greedy. The only console that makes you pay to play. The fan is so loud all I hear constantly is squeaking and winding of the fan in the xbox.
Every time I turn it on.... it Upmotherfarkindates!!!!! – I don’t play regularly say one a fortnight weekend and everytime I turn it on or buy a game it downloads the game then updates the game then updates the console then updates the game on updated console and then I’m turning it of coz the time I wanted to spend playing is gone like Fasaaaaaaaaaak nintendo was so much easier
Love it – Easy to use console. Able to download and run a number of apps while connected to my Wi-Fi. Game quality and graphics are amazing. Only fault is the non rechargeable controller and having to always replace/ charge batteries.
Great console, super reliable and suits my lifestyle well – Very user friendly interface, great and reliable online service, plethora of great games and the best controller to date, the Xbox One is in my opinion the best console on the market currently. It is powerful and reliable with infrequent crashes, and the services they offer (Games Pass, Netflix, etc) makes it a great tool beyond gaming.
Good system – Mostly, it's a great system. However, the apps crash quite a bit and a lot games have glitches. Though apps like Netflix run seamlessly. I like that. They definitely could've done better...and they did with tyre xbox one s and the xbox one x.
Great quality and value – Such a great quality device and represents impressive value when compared to a gaming PC. I've had my device since its launch in 2013 and my console has never missed a beat! Such great value because I can still play the latest games perfectly aka Assassin's Creed Origins. Definitely recommended. I'm so happy and will be upgrading Xbox One X. The… Read more
one thing I would like is the OS to be a bit more stable and fast. It's a bit laggy for a device that plays such amazing games.
Awesome gaming console – We've had the xbox one for about a year and it has been fantastic as a unit. Not an issue however xbox live can sometimes be a hassle. Games are sometimes on special which is great but very pricey most of the time. The xbox has pretty good storage capacity options and if we run out of space it's simple to just remove a game and the option to re… Read more

I wish xbox could play against other gaming consoles and pc.. that's a downfall but I do understand that can make some games unfsir so to speak. At the moment we have 3 controllers going which makes multi player even more fun. I dislike that in some cases you need an adapter for a headset but mostly because this you must buy separate.
Multimedia Entertainment at is best – Okay I am a newbie when it comes to gaming consoles. I was considering buying a Ultra 4k BluRay player a few months ago, as I have a SUHD 4K TV. Looking at retailers for a player I was disappointed with the price, not in my budget. I read that the new Xbox One X was due in November, I liked what I read and pre-orded one. Easy to set up with on… Read more
screen instruction, the whole process took about 20 minutes to get up and running. I purchased a 4k game and a Ultra 4k BluRay movie. The movie quality in HDR 4K was unbelievable I was dribbling. The 4k game is the same unbelievable. Just looking around in The App Store is full of great apps and games. With the Gold membership there are heaps of great games. One problem I found was that it takes 2 hours to install a game, about 100gb and a further 65gb download. Also that hard drive is not big enough only 1tb, should be 4tb. Overall the Xbox One X is one fantastic entertainment unit. Though at $649 it's not cheap, I don't buy cheap. It beats buying a stand alone 4k bluray player...
Horrible – Horrible company . Dosent work properly none of my games work.
