Should last longer than 2 years! – It was working last week. Now the battery has died. It won’t recharge, the lights come on for a few seconds when I plug it in to recharge, then go out. Remember the old days when things would last years, this lasted approximately 2 years. I noticed the last few months it didn’t have as much suction and thought it was because I didn’t have the lid… Read more

part on properly, also kept checking to see if the pipe part was blocked. Luckily I still have the old pull along vacuum cleaner. EDIT. I bought another one thinking the one that wouldn’t recharge was just a one off so I bought another one about four months ago and low and behold it’s done exactly the same and only after four months!! Luckily, it still under warranty.

Short life span – Lasted just over a year then died. Warranty is 12 months so bad luck me. Won't purchase this brand again. Show details

After 4 months, I'm replacing it – So I've given it a good go and yes, it does suck well, deals with the insurmountable dog hair, but the container is so small I'm emptying it 3 - 4 times a vacuum, which again, isn't a deal breaker. The thing for me, if you keep on eco, it goes for a while, enough for me to get around the house, but the turbo, I'm lucky to get 5-10 mins max, so to… Read more

me, that's the deal breaker. I can't find who I bought it from as I'd take it back, I think I will give to my daughter for her home as she only has a tiny wee space.

Bought two of these - Battery on both rarely charge beyond 2/5 bars – I don't mind the vacuum's form factor. I like the head light. The suction container gets filled quickly. The head does get blocked fairly easily between the rollers, anything around the size of a blueberry will get jammed most likely. Batteries though and a massive disappointment. Absolute cactus. Show details

Pay the extra - get the dyson – Compared to the Dyson V8 animal - this is just no where near it. Vacuumed a small carpet bedroom with the Viomi A9. Then did the same room again immediately after with the Dyson V8 Animal and i filled the dyson up with dust and hair and grot. The thing that lets the A9 down is the motor head. If it had the same type of motor head on the A9 as… Read more

what is on the Dyson this thing would be fine. but the motor head on the A9 is just too weak and shallow it only barely touches the top of the carpet where the dyson gets right down deep and gets all the gunk out

Bad to Ok, but doesn't last long – Suction is pretty good on max but you often get tangles and blockages. Mode button broke after 9 months of use (which you need to annoyingly press every time you turn it on). Entire unit stopped working after 15 months. Would be ok for really light use, but for $150 I would expect more. Customer support from Panmi is non-existent. Impossible to… Read more

enforce ACL guarantee. It is now in the bin and I feel mostly bad because it is clogging up landfill. Should have got a better one in the first place.

Worth the money – Easy assembly and charging battery, all fits together OK. Ergonomically not good in the hand, little finger sits on ridge in the bottom of the handle, lowest knuckle of thumb presses hard against upper plastic body, so uncomfortable to use after just a few minutes. Remarkable amount of dust gathered in tiny dust box, pressing a button to 'simply… Read more

empty' is rubbish as the majority of dust stays in the pot and has to be dug out. Cleaning the filters is such a fiddly job and takes too long - and is necessary too often. Suction on high is on a par with our 19 year old Valet central vacuum system, the two lower speeds are handy for very smooth floors. Our floor surfaces vary from timber, tile, carpet, stone. Pretty to look at and works quite well, although the 3 1/2 battery charge wait time is a negative. A handy little machine for small areas, handy attachments for upholstery vacuuming, corners etc

Not good – The dust is leaking out of the vac everywhere even when the bag is empty and new filters installed is there a solution to fix?

Great Vacuum ... But ... Battery Won't Charge After 2nd Charging – I purchased the Xiaomi Viomi A9 (iOT 5G) White vacuum from Aldi in November 2021 for $169. I didnt start using it until July 2022. I followed instructions, fully charged it before use. Worked great. Suction is better than my $99 Aldi Stick Vac. Charged it up the second time after it ran down. Continued to work fine, no issues. I went to use it… Read more

again recently and found that the battery level had already dropped right down. Used it for a few minutes before it powered off. I plugged the battery in to the charger and left it. A few hours later I noticed the LED lights were off as expected when fully charged. I weent to use it and within about 10 seconds it powered off. I plugged it back in and noticed the LED's cycle through, then all flash for a few seconds and then they go off. I tried a different power point in the house but the same thing happened. I plugged the battery back into the vacuum and tried again. It powered on but again it only lasted about 10 seconds and powered off. Really bizarre. It's like it will only charge for about 30 seconds which gives it enough power to last 10 seconds. I checked the manual but didnt find anything that could help solve the issue. I checked reviews and found that many people are having the same issue with the battery. There is no ALDI warranty card in the box only the manual. There is no warranty sticker on the box or warranty info printed on the box indicating who to contact for service. There is no warranty info in the manual either. I went to the PANMI website but that points back to the ALDI webiste. I went to the ALDI website and that points back to PANMI or the warranty sticker or card which don't exist. I also checked their website for a downloadable warranty card and ALDI Australia doesnt provide that option. A replacement battery costs around a whopping $100. Unbelievable!! The cost ruled out battery replacement as an option. If it was say $20 I may have gone that route as it is a good vacuum. Ultimately everything seemed to point to having to take the product back to the ALDI store. So I did. I explained the situation to one of the friendly staff at ALDI whom quickly said, "that's fine we will still refund it to you, just bring the item in with box". Fantastic! I took the product to the checkout and the item was quickly refunded. Many thanks to the antastic, helpful staff at my local store. And I feel so relieved that they refunded the item as I was dreading the nightmare of having to go through a complicated if not impossible warranty process.

Lesson learned here. All ALDI items I've purchased have been working fine, for years, no issues. All come with warranty cards. So any third party item that ALDI sell I will open the box and check inside for a warranty card and thoroughly check the box for warranty info. My fault for taking things for granted and not checking properly.

I've rated the product 3 stars ONLY because when it works it is really good. Such a shame that the battery could let this product down.

Poor Battery Life and Ergonomics – I've owned this vacuum for 12 months (bought May 2021) and the battery now shows 2 bars after 1 minute of use. Battery used to last to vacuum my entire house, now it only manages 1/3 of the house. So I require 2 extra battery charges to complete my entire house. The ergonomics are average, there is a solid section where your fingers go that pushes… Read more

on my fingers and makes it very uncomfortable to use. My dogs chew toys up and leave a mess, this cannot vacuum up small rubber pieces of dog toy - they either get stuck or get spat out by the vacuum. I do like the light on the front; the light shows where the dog fur is on hard floors.

Great Budget Vacuum Cleaner – We love this handheld cleaner. It beat my Dyson V6 hand down and one of our best investment as we have a dog and use it everyday. Highly recommended for heavy use. Show details

Excellent quality for the price – What a surprise. These days its rare you get something from Aldi that exceeds expectations. This cleaner is great on the carpet. It blew our old dyson stick vacuum out of the water. Very happy. Also the battery is good. Comes with useful attachments including separate small turbo head. Show details

Love it but – If I could buy an affordable spare battery or able to plug it into power and use it like a corded vaccy when needed I would give it 6 stars. Suction and function is excellent especially for cleaning up spills. Have been using it on carpet too and it works fine. Edit May 2024. Still going great but battery has lost maybe 20% of it's endurance. Show details

premium product for less – Feels great, has some nice tire features and super easy to clean. Really great for houses with lots of long hair, doesn’t get stuck anywhere from the way it’s made. Super helpful! The high power mode will eat the battery up quick but it will still last enough for a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment on full charge. The eco mode will last much longer but… Read more

less suction of course. Super easy to charge and small enough to store in your laundry and able to be mounted on the wall is super handy.

Battery availability – I just bought this Aldi special and while it might look like a good product I now find need to return it. I also have a Dyson V6 and when the battery died I was able to replace it from various suppliers. Different story with the Xiaomi Viomi A9 The only place I can find a replacement battery for the Viomi is AliExpress for nearly $100. Think twice before making this purchase. Show details

Well built and works better than my Dyson but the battery sucks! – This vacuum feels really well built. It doesn't feel like it's made of cheap plastic that will break in a week. The suction power is very impressive at full speed; it's as good as my old V6 Animal Dyson and actually better at collecting pet hairs from tiled floors. The LED light at the front makes it easy to see tiny hairs and dust on the floor… Read more

that I had missed with the Dyson. The thing that ruins this vacuum is the battery pack. I received the vacuum brand new, and the next day after around 20 minutes of use, the battery pack refused to charge. What seems to be the common issue is the "five flashing lights of death" that is becoming widely reported. I checked that the DC charger is outputting voltage, and it is working fine. The fault here seems to be with just the battery pack itself. I emailed support@mi-store.com.au today, and I will update my review if they ever get back to me. I really like this cleaner, and it probably works as good or better than my Dyson when it works, but my Dyson wasn't perfect either. It's on its fourth battery pack and second main housing unit, which includes the motor itself. Overall, in my opinion, this vacuum is well worth the $200 ish price tag. It's just that rubbish battery pack that ruins it, and thankfully, it's been designed as an easily removable battery pack; extra batteries can be purchased, just a massive shame the one that came with it died 20 mins in.
