Yamaha ATS-1080

Excellent Entry Model Surround Soundbar – It's a refreshing change to buy a well priced, well made sound system (primarily for the TV), that is & does what it's supposed to. (2 years later it still enhances the sound of the TV to no end. (It's also still a great stand-alone blue-tooth sound system, without the TV). The Yamaha ATS-1080 surround system bar, is great when you also want a… Read more
minimalistic look (without having to have an extra unit for a sub-woofer). The sound is also great for music vids, also for Spotify (without the need to have the TV switched on).
Notably, you don't get much of a choice when it comes to equaliser functions particularly treble & bass control, but that's the trade off with buying an economy Yamaha product, that clearly hasn't compromised on quality.
Thanks to Yamaha (& seller's, in my case Bing-Lee at Port Macquarie NSW), for providing a great product at a great price. (Including a discount I paid $249.oo for it!). Regards Jordan
Yamaha - Big Performer for Small Price – I was initially skeptical to buying Yamaha so cheap, as it was on offer. But it outperformed the TV inbuilt stock speakers which was not very loud and not very clear. In fact, I was amazed at the performance of this soundbar especially with the Surround effect that it gave with watching movies. Now, we only use the TV for all watching with the… Read more
sounder. The features on the remote are fairly good. I know there are better systems out there costing over $1000 with Dolby Atmos and more features. This just did what I wanted it to do in the price I wanted to pay. It has done a great job with the sound from Netfilx & Disney Plus, the evening News sounding much much better. The inbuilt bass is also fairly good. It's a Yamaha after all.
For the money, this is quality at a budget price – Good quality, for something around the $225 price range, this is quality. You can tell by the finish, by the level of inputs, the quality fabric grille, it's really a good soundbar. Sometimes you don't really want an external sub, just a great soundbar. There are going to be some drawbacks to say, a $1000+ soundbar.. When you listen to a movie… Read more
sometimes the voices are not loud enough... Not to worry! This soundbar has a louder voice function.
Also great is the ability to switch between stereo, surround and wide sound, so you can pick the best of three different modes..
Yamaha make serious quality sound gear, the reason you don't know about that is their lack of marketing. When Samsung spends upwards of 10 billion dollars a year advertising, people will know their products. Yamaha makes quality gear, i couldn't find anything in this price range that wasn't junk. Most did not have multiple inputs, 3.5mm input, digital audio and hdmi ..
