Yamaha YAS-207

YAS-207 soundbar – Purchased this 3 months ago. I didn't have much more than about $300 to spend so what research I did lead me to the Yamaha YAS-207.I chose it over the newer YAS-209 because I didn't need Alexa or WiFi that the 209 offers. Set up was fairly simple, but do read the manual as you need to enable certain functions. It's a definite upgrade to the TVs speakers and the separate subwoofer certainly has the bass you need (I use it on a mid setting). The 'virtual Atmos' setting isn't effective and is best avoided as it creates a tinny sound whereas normal 'surround mode' is fine. Clear Voice function is very good I leave that on and ability to dim or turn off the small front lights is useful. The soundbar comes on and turns off with your TV remote. The sound experience won't compete with soundbars over $500 but for the price it's absolutely fine.
Purchased in at Amazon for $350.
Sounds okay, interface is AWFUL – This sounds okay. Decent for the price and form factor but easily bettered by a cheap 2.1 system. What ruins it is the interface. It's meant to have an always on function but it does not work. That means when you turn your TV on, you have to manually turn the sound bar on. If you forget, it will not recognise the source and won't play sound. You need to reboot and start over. That is VERY frustrating day to day.
Purchased in at Bing Lee Online store for $395.
100% happy with purchase – Agree with the poster before me... Its very good value for money. Easy set up, clear voice is a great thing. We have a largish area and it still sounds great
Purchased in at eBay for $270.
A stellar soundbar that will not disappoint for the price – A fantastic soundbar, setup is simple plug and play, HDMI ARC port allows the soundbar to be operated via DLNA and the TV remote, Stereo for day-to-day TV is rich and enjoyable and a vast improvement on flat screen TV speakers, but the surround sound modes are incredible. DTS Virtual 3D Surround is fantastic and really brings movies and high quality transmissions to life. The clear voice mode is also brilliant and solves the problem with many flat screen TV's today, where voices in a surround sound transmission are lost behind all the sound effects, call me traditional but I do like to hear dialogue. The Bluetooth active subwoffer just paired automatically and really works well to feel the bass. All in all I cannot fault this soundbar with features only available on much more expensive devices.
