Yardeco Recycler 2000

Yardeco Recycler 2000 – Very badly engineered. Mine has given me nothing but trouble. The metal body is too thin and has bulged, the brackets on the chute broke off after 2 uses, bearing had to be replaced etc etc Show details
Great machine. Happy with it. Have it for many years – Easy enough to start up. Big enough for what I need at home. Good value. Use it many times and good performance. Recommended by friends and have no disappointment. Thanks. Show details
Great machine when used properly – Bulletproof motor. Solid machine. Copes well with up to 75mm branches etc. A fair bit involved in changing blades, found I had to take a lot of it apart to access properly. Had mine a few years now and it has never missed a beat. The mulcher hopper can clog up though if it's overloaded. Show details
DO NOT BUY – What a load of crape.Used 4 times in 3 year .Its starting to fall apart The metal is to thin for some think that costed a lot of money ALL sides a bulging and some seams have split and will have to be welded back. Its a very dangerous machine to use at the moment DO NOT BUY YOU ARE WASTING YOU MONEY BAD BAD>>> Show details
Does the job well – I scored one of these off Gumtree for a measly $200 so I'm not as invested as others. It does a pretty good job and way better than any electric models. It has a solid 5 HP motor and does most stuff up to about 75mm. Have to be patient and test out some materials (ie vines and stringy stuff) the output is great as mulch. The output chute could be… Read more
better designed and it can get a little hot, but overall, for most domestic work, this thing is great. Has saved many a trip to the tip and produced a heap of good mulch.
expensive rubbish – I looked for some time for a mulcher for the back yard . Previous ones had been fairly cheap from large hardware chain and only lasted a few years, but no problems other than motor finally going .Sold on the "Australian"made bit . As with the above report the metal warps and the screws holding the hopper become loose due to the heat when used.… Read more
.Had the top part ie hopper just drop to 2 front screws twice tearing the metal. It was news to the company the first time ,so was told to bang it back with a hammer !!!
Not being used on a slope as was told by sales person in far off QLD.
Gave up trying to get a replacement or return of my money, within the first 12 months .I note it is discontinued Why?
Gets so hot even after only 30 mins of easy work Got second hopper for free,"as a sign of good will" ...not consumer warranty but was rudely told it was the user at fault . Had to change belt not long after purchase ..what a job, very difficult to access. Had the side feeder also crack and that was replaced but given the unit had less than 5 hrs of use at the time it was a sign of worse to come, did get a new part .Have had a local welder redo first hopper tear for free , and as far as he is concerned the metal is cheap overseas manufacturing. One wheel is at an angle and so I take note of the man with more patience than I. Now it just wont start.
Very rude condescending after sales non service . Expensive at abt $1800.
Poorly engineered – Bought this unit based on recommendation from a work colleague. From the start, the sheet metal cutter housing deflected in use. It is made from the same 1.6 mm steel that the entire unit is made. Anyway some 6 mm plate and the welder fixed that. Then, the belt needed replacement. The belts are easy to obtain, but so hard to install, with no… Read more
facility for adjusting tension. And recently a wheel bearing collapsed. Stripping down the axle/ wheel assembly, I found that the axle is nothing more than a lightweight steel tube, with a wall about 1.6 mm. So, out with the welder and welding in a solid steel axle. Why people ruin their reputation to save pissant amounts on money amaze me.
Excellent chipper mulcher and so easy to use! – I have used four chipper mulchers over the last ten years - a Talon electric 3 way mulcher, a Rover trailable petrol chipper mulcher, a BBTA 15hp petrol chipper mulcher and for the last 18 months a YardEco Recycler 2000 electric chipper mulcher. The YardEco is better in so many ways - instant starting, low noise and vibration levels, no… Read more
petrol/oil/fumes or hot surfaces, low weight and very low centre of gravity making movement over rough surfaces and across slopes easy, lock nuts on all bolts, relatively easy chipper blade sharpening, hard to clog chip exit grille and a high throughput that keeps two adults busy. Compared to a Chinese petrol import the construction quality is quite a bit better and the ease of movement around a large block is simply superior. I have processed the leaves, twigs and small branches from over a dozen mature eucalypts through it and it makes excellent mulch from our summer bush litter cleanup. Branches upto about 40mm are readily chipped, and if garden cuttings are left to dry for a week or so there is no problem with clogging at all. The YardEco electric makes chipping and mulching a pleasure!
great mulcher – Had for about 2 years & been pretty reliable only failed once due to fan belt wear but swapped out with replacement from Yardeco & all good. There is a knack to using I find, but as long as you follow instructions on taking out pins (at base of machine) for different types of waste the mulcher works well. Only one down side I have found is you… Read more
are supposed to sharpen blade (no problem with that as you would expect) on regular basis, the bolts holding blade in place have seized so can't remove. Have to still figure that one out yet ;-/ o/a though it does what it's supposed to do & is a good addition to any garden.
Could be an exceptional machine with a couple of modfications – I have had my Recycler 2000 for some years now and there is no doubt that it does a great job. However, the spindle bearings have failed twice due to material wrapping around the shaft, overheating the bearing and melting the grease. Bronze bushings with grease nipples will be my fix at the next failure. The metal of the hammer housing is of too… Read more
light a gauge and needs to be heavier to resist denting and deforming when struck with heavy material from within. The machine came with an A section belt on what appears to be B section pulleys. All this aside, I give the machine a hard time and overall I am quite happy with it. It produces great mulch and the Honda engine is bullet proof.
Great Mulcher – I have had the Recycler 2000 with the Briggs and Stratton motor for 6 months now. Great machine. I have a large garden with lots of variety and it does everything in the garden that I need it to. Had it delivered good service all round. I have had other shredders and this one is by far the best to use. Strongly built. Starts easy.
poor design & abominable service – This is my experience & a warning to other potential buyers. I purchased the Yardeco recycler 2000 some 2 years ago. Used if a couple time on hibiscus cuttings without major success, the unit keeps clogging up- tedious. However last week I could not get the unit started at all. Took it to Yardeco in Bentley WA. Mentioned that I wasn't exactly… Read more
happy with the product on account of the two occasions used & now was unable to start the unit at all. I also mentioned that if the unit had a clutch it would make it a lot easier to start. At this point the Chap turned around and said that he wasn't going to talk to me as I was 'negative'.
So be warned - as a design engineer I can tell, that the unit while sturdy is poorly designed & the after sales service is abominable. This has cured me from my bias to buy Australian made - this product is not worth the money as is their lawn mower - another poorly designed bit of kit.
Cheers looked solid & Australian made
Yardeco R2000 honda – Hi Have this mulcher about 4 months this is the third mulcher i had and by far the best dose all my garden needs fast . get good size mulch first one i had that handle the wetter plates have been doing Alvera then just wash is out so good .you can ring and talk to some one that use what they make so helpful easy to use
Waste of money – The mulcher could not cope with 40mm branches it chips slowly any smaller branches constantly clogged if fed trought the shoot I was told it would do bamboo NO Chance at all ! After approximate 3 hours of use the drive belt started to fall The body is soft steel and bends with the clogging Couldn't do what was supposed to do and bad client support
