3 years and still rowing – Got it used on Gumtree, set it up in front of the telly in the garage and been using it occassionally (twice a week, 2x15mins, average) for the last 2 years. still going on strong. not too noisy, just the perfect tension for a beginer. no jerky motions. display works fine, but never used it as i've only timed myself looking at the garage clock as i rotate equipment. a perfect addition to the home garage.

weeks later.. Remember it did cost $699a , not cheap,
Then exactly 14 months later the motor failed again. I confess I only used the rower for 20 minutes week on avergage, So overuse is not an issue...
Thsi time i thought it wiser and contacted repair guy direct who advised issues with motor and suggested I try warranty again as it was a common problem. I tried, Your declined warranty but did send me another new motor but would not cover install. To me this verified their acceptance that they had an issue with motor but penny pinched on warranty labor.
I installed new motor and Wham, it also failed.
End result was to give up and throw out york r201 machine.
I did provide feedback to York, but seems they decided to ignore my feedback all together.
A pity as the machine looked good(only) Sturdy Motor
