Can you run the pump only with a Zodiac Hydroxinator? Or does the hydroxinator need to be on to run the pump? Reason being i need to run the pump for a few days for the pool heater to warm up the pool....but doing this with the hydroxinator on tends to create excess chlorination.....

Hi Michael, You would need to clarify exactly which hydroxinator you have and how old it is to correctly answer that question. It may be easier if you contact us via phone on 1300 763 021 Option 3 and one of our customer service team will assist you.

Kind Regards, Zodiac Australia

I did reach out via the phone and the gentleman was very helpful. Short answer was yes, I have a Zodiac Z3 pump that I can run independantly from the chlorinator. My issue and the man was not able to advise was why my chlorinater was over chlorinating when the ORP value was low (450) The Zodiac Magnapool Hydroxinator is great when it works but is a real nightmare when it doesn't.......

We have a Magnapool Hydroxinator. I am unable to set timers as this function is now inpoperable. Is there a reset facility or do I manually have to turn the filter on and off ? This would prove very frustrating and not logical, in view of holidays and away time.

Hi, I have the Magna Pool Hydroxinator IQ installed and am having issues with the unit not running as per scheduled timers. I had this issue with the first unit within 4 months of install and after MANY visits and calls I got the unit changed. Now only a couple of months on this new unit is doing the same thing. Randomly it turns itself off at 22 minutes past the hour, even when the schedule is set for multiple hours.

Fluidra customer service if not great, with their ridiculous automated appointment time system and all being based on east coast (i'm in WA), so wondering if others had had a similar issue and new of any fix.

Mine is doing that too, and I can't ork out why. During my scheduled time of 12pm to 4pm... it turns off at 1345 then a few seconds later it turned back on. Really weird... pool is only 7months old.

Anyone that has this unit could you tell me whether or not the chamber with the electrode should be full of water when it runs? Ours seems to run with the water splashing up and then out straight away so chamber is never full of water. I’m just wondering if this is normal? We’ve been having a lot of air bubbles coming out of the jets but pump window it’s minimal air bubbles so I’m wondering if it’s this part causing the air to flow through to the return jets. Appreciate anyone answering that has this unit.

Hi there The hydroxinator (the clear tube) should be full of water. If you've emptied the basket in your pump or have removed the hydroxinator for cleaning (allowing the water in the pipes to empty out) you'll have to allow the pipes and hydroxinator to fill again when you turn the pump back on. It should only take a few minutes to completely fill the pipes and your hydroxinator. In the clear tube you should see it is almost completely full of water and if the electrodes are clean and working normally you will see the water turn cloudy. Hope this helps.

Hi sdev, Your hydroxinator cell should be filled with water sufficiently to cover the cell plates completely. If this is a recent occurrence I would check for debris in your skimmer box, your pumps hair and lint pot and ensure that your pumps lid is secure. Its also a good idea to check the oring that sits under the lid and ensure it is not damaged as this will allows air to enter the system. Air intake is a common problem on pools, it can occur in multiple areas but most comonly it is due to a pump lid not sealing properly.
