ALDI Bauhn 4K Ultra HD

**TLDR** A bargain 70" 4K TV with a great picture, especially for the price. I am keeping the TV and I would definitely buy a ALDI Bauhn again. I have purchased and installed the BAUHN 70" TV, Model ATV70UHDT (28/01/2026). It is replacing a faulty 6 year old TCL 65P8S. I was considering buying another TCL 65" TV, anywhere from the lower range… Read more
C6K (~$1K) to the mid-tier C7K ($1,500AUD) to the higher level C8K (~$2,000). I decided to give the ALDI BAUHN a go, thinking that for $500 it was definitely worth a shot... and I have 60 days to obatin a refund if I am not "entirely satiisfied" with it.
After nearly two months I am very impressed and will not be returning it for a reefund. The picture quality is very good straight out of the box. The TV is in my lounge, but during the daytime when watching TV I close all the curtains, so while the room is not "dark", there is ambient light from an adjoining room. The picture is very bright and clear and not washed out.
In various online screen tests (YouTunbe) the results are very good. A standard black screen uniformity (various white objects on a black background) test shows very little bleed from the white object to the black background. When the screen displays a rotating white rectangle on a black ground I saw slight tearing along the edges (the edge did not remain clear and sharp) as the TV struggled to keep up, but this was minor and I have noticed no such thing aberrations during regular viewing.
Grid tests shows all horizontal and vertical lines are straight with no distortion. There is minimal subtle blooming. In the subtitle motion display test, the words were blurry and although I could still easily read he words, the words were not clear and sharp as they moved from right to left across the screen (such as happens in news segments). Despite this I have not noticed this in any real time viewing, i.e. subtitles are sharp and clear (I always have subtitles if available as I have hearing loss (not totally deaf, deaf in one eary and hearing loss in the other).
In the dirty screen test of white, grey and colours (red, green, royal blue, light blue, yellow and pink), there is a minor/dirty screen effect across the whole screen, more visible on both vertical edges. But once again in real world viewing I have not noticed this at all.
The sound quality is also acceptable/good from the standard speakers. I found them loud enough and not distorted, although as stated previously, I have hearing loss. And having said that, the quality of the TVs speakers does not matter in my circumstances as I have connected the TV via Toslink to my Yamaha Home Theatre system (two floor speakers, two shelf speakers, a centre speaker and a sub-woofer).
The Tizen OS is good with many options, it is quite polished and has the Apps that I will ever use (e.g. Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, ABC iview, SBS on Demand, and the Free-to-Air stations).
I find the remote control annoying to use with the smooth wheel (as opposed to the remote being all buttons), but I am getting better at using it, so practice makes perfect.
I have had the TV for a month and have spent many hours watching movies, sports and playing Xbox games and I am very happy with the viewing experience on all three genres mentioned with no detrimental viewing anomalies (not apparent to me anyway).
* Movies: Previewed a range of movies (including animated) and TV shows and everything looked great. * Sports - I watched the NFL playoff games and the Superbowl and the picture was fantastic, the colours really "popped". I also watch some of the Australian Open and it also looked good. * Gaming - played Call of Duty - Black Ops 6 (on an Xbox Series X) and once again the colours were excellent. I am just an ad-hoc/ part time gamer (Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber), my skills level is lower/middle tier level in multiplayer game results (my K/D is usually over 1.00 to 1.00 (1.00-2.00+ to 1). But to me the game played really well, with no apparent lagging etc. (which is not an issues as I have a specific gaming monitor to use if I felt it necessary).
Only time will tell how well it goes long term re dead pixels and the LED backlights and the warranty.
For the money, this is a great TV. As expected, the interface is a little bit slower but it’s not too laggy and definitely easy enough to deal with. The operating system and remote are LG with LG apps etc all built in. I personally love the LG magic remote, being able to move the cursor around like a computer mouse is neat. are great with plenty of apps to choose from and pretty easy to use. The picture quality is very good also and hard to tell a difference in quality from more expensive models. Games from my PS5 look great, Gran Turismo 7 looks almost photo realistic.
The sound however is awful. Speakers sound very tinny and cheap though this was easily fixed by adding a decent sound bar (which I think any mid range TV would benefit from). All in all I think this is a great TV and the best in its price range. Would not hesitate to buy again
I just about to throw this tv out the window, very slow to respond d to the remote, freezes all the time need to switch the power point off to reboot it, Tv turns off when ever it wants and there are no updates for this tv Donot buy Aldi Baun products at all they are really cheap and nasty Show details

Aldi TV - I think not! – Bought the 55" Aldi TV as our faithful 12yr old LG was starting to play up. Given the price ($479) the Aldi TV represented good value for what you were supposed to get. Initial set up was OK but it always had poor sound quality, which thankfully was solved by hooking it up to our existing sound bar. Response to the remote control was always slow… Read more
and flicking through channels or adjusting the volume was painful. At the 12 month old period, it began to vary the colours on screen, regardless of content. People would vary from anemic to very pink skin and back again along with the background changing also (refer video). Didn't matter if it was the news on the commercial networks, streaming services or a DVD, they all suffered the picture quality issue. Finally, this week (and around 16 months old) it gave up entirely and the screen just had lines from top to bottom in varying colours. The scary part was that the lower left corner of the TV case had begun to distort and melt when the screen stopped working. As a result of this melting a residue had been left on the tv screen above where this occurred. Had we not been home at the time, the story could've been a lot worse we fear. Our suggestion is simple.....KEEP CLEAR AND BUY A BRAND NAME TV

16 months Panel Failure – Loved this TV until I didn't. Google TV dongle and soundbar made it great. Sure not super dark blacks but perfectly fine. But horizontal lines and then complete frozen picture on the panel intermittently are completely disappointing. Should get at least 5 years out of this and why not 10 or more? Show details
Rubbish , after 3 days random colors appeared on the screen , warranty from tempo is too slow and seems like not interested to help Show details
I purchased this TV 2 years ago and it has already failed. What a waste of money. Show details

Everthing works except the actual TV part, the free to air via antenna. No amount of scanning for channels, firmware & software updates have made an iota of difference. Tempo are looking into it. I even plugged my old tv into the antenna ,scanned for programs and sucessfully watched TV, but unable to emulate on the Bauhn, and Freeview is not… Read more
available in the app store for it, WebOS I imagine. EDIT: Turned out it was a $4 elbow connector I purchased from Bunnings that was the culprit all along. As soon as I removed the elbow my channels appeared. Since then been 100% happy with this TV
Good value – Great value. Good quality picture once I played with the settings. Like any thin TV the sound is terrible but excellent once I used a soundbar. Three years use without a problem. If you do want a longer warranty Linsar sell exactly the same TV but with a three year warranty... and it costs about $300 more. This is my third large Bauhn TV. The very… Read more
first one developed a slight discoloration after six months but Aldi promptly replaced it. The second one was faultless.
No way to unlock the TV pin code code to operate the TV button if forgotten – TV has been playing well until now, however, to prevent from kids playing with buttons, I locked the TV with the pin code in setting and security and forgot. Now I cannot use TV buttons except power on and off. Remote control won't help to reset to the factory setting, still asks for the code to unlock. Show details

Vaughn tv 70inch. Just the worst tv ever made. Complete waste of money. I would rather rip my privates off and throw them into traffic than buy a piece of s**t like this ever again. Show details

Hi all Just having a rant to make me feel better :-). I had bought a large screen tv from Aldi before and it had lasted well over 5 years so we bought two of these tvs. One was for my daughter. Ours developed lines across the screen a few months out of warranty. I didn’t bother with tempo as i have been through the experience of trying to claim… Read more
warranty on a jug and got stuffed around even though it was in warranty. They accepted the claim and said they were sending out a postage label to send it in and that was the last I heard from them.
Our daughter gave us her tv and it lasted about 3 months longer then failed the same way.
Aldi get it wrong now and that’s ok on cheap items, but this illustrates why we should have lemon laws.
If you were willing to go through the aggravation, Australian consumer law would deem this as still under warranty as a reasonable person would expect to get at least a couple of years service from a new tv.
The amount of ewaste being generated doesn’t do much for anyone’s clean green reputation.
Cheers
We like this TV, but we bought it to watch Netflix, and it refuses all efforts to connect. Everything else works, it even passes Netflix networking tests, but I've spent 3 months trying to figure this out to no avail. All other devices I own, PC's STB's, phone's all work effortlessly, but not this TV. It refuses any attempt to connect to Netflix AT ALL and even after a netflix reset, it fails before you can even see a login page. Show details

Got Aldi Bauhn 32 inch smart TV powered by web OS Hub. Didn’t know couldn’t download kayo, 9Now, 7plus and some other apps. Suggest don’t buy these TVs get a google one or something that has App Store. Thinking of selling this TV Show details
I must say, this has been the most disappointing television I have ever purchased and a complete waste of $650. The lack of support for Disney+ is unacceptable, and the inability to watch movies directly from a USB drive is highly inconvenient. Additionally, the TV does not recognize the Max streaming service, which further limits its… Read more
functionality. I strongly advise against purchasing this brand, as it fails to deliver on even the most basic expectations. Save your money and invest in a more reliable option.
Netflix is not supported on this device. Apps such as Binge TV do not exist. Tech support is average and after 3-4 phone calls I was informed this brand new TV needed to be serviced. Sound is awful, pixels are average e.g. an ocean is just three blurred colours. Not recommended, there are far better TV's available for just an extra $200 spend. Show details
Good tv some pixels went out in the first week whatever but no twitch cmon – I have a bauhn tv and I cannot download twitch like honestly twitch is a very commonly used app
Hi Dundee! May we ask for the model number of your TV to check the specifications?
Poor TV – Average picture, clunky remote response, shocking cursor control. Not a "smart tv" at all. Very time consuming to connect to unlisted sites, like Kayo. Waste of money. Tolerated for 2 years, then purchased a Hisense at a similar, slightly more $ and am more than happy. It's excellent! Show details
Do not buy!!! – I would give zero stars if possible. Do not buy. It is cheap but will last barely a year! We had the exactly same issue as described by another user below when the tv was just outside warranty. Both tvs bought at the same time. A line started showing up at the bottom of the screen when the tv was about 1 year old. It didn’t bother us so we didn’t… Read more
seek replacement at the time. At 1.5 years old the colours on the started playing up more until it became all black. Tv was bought in July 2023 and does not work anymore. Melting on the left bottom corner similar to what happened to other user. We contacted the store which advised us to contact the outside warranty service. We learnt Aldi would not replace or refund us. We then contact Bauhn customer service which referred us to an authorised repair service. The authorised company said there is no fix as it would cost too much to repair. Waste of money and time. Stay away from this tv. Very disappointing product offered by Aldi and very poor customer service.
Great while it lasted – Had been a great tv, I've properly had it only maybe 2.5 to 3 years and it's suddenly got 3 black lines across the bottom of the screen, now I'm worried it'll get worse. It's not been hit it's, been well looked after, literally just turned it on one morning and the linees are there. Before this i couldn't fault it. But given that it didn't last… Read more
very long, and my last tv (sony) lasted me 9 years.. perhaps you do get what you pay for. I'm now not sure how long I've got before I've got no tv. And right in time for Christmas school holiday too. Very disappointing.

TV unusable in Australia – Bought from Aldi in Australia. Unable to download any local apps- SBSOndemand or ABC Iview - as TV message says my email setting is different from the service country selected My service country is set to Australia My guess is that because my email address ends in gmail.com the TV thinks I’m in the US. but that option is not available. Thought I would setup a Yahoo email account to use but they end in .com as well Though that may have nothing to do with it. Tried Tempo support- just pathetic. No help at all At the moment the only thing I can watch is YouTube Very, very disappointed in my purchase. Will never buy electronics from Aldi again and will never recommend to anyone else
Hi Jay! May we ask for the model number so we can check it for you?
Not so good – I would say that display is good and only this. Remote stop working after week. Tv have wife but nothing can be connected eg. Netflix. I would say don’t buy.
Avoid this crap – Well I got almost 2 years out of this ALDI Bauhn 4K Ultra HD 50". But even at the low price I expected a longer life than this. Suddenly a flickering reflection of the bottom part of the screen was reflected in the top half. Contacted the store where I bought it, but no deal. In a recent house move must haave lost track of the receipt. Sorry,… Read more
no warranty, I'm told not even under the provisions of Australian Consumer Law. So I suppose I'll have to put it out with the hard rubbish. Lesson learnt. Good price, but too good to be true. Lesson.. Avoid the centre aisles of the Aldi store; the stuff is crap!
No Kayo Sports – Bought a 75 inch smartish tv from Aldi on Saturday for my shed, got it home mounted up on the wall and it looks fantastic. After hooking up the wifi I tried to connect to Kayo, not available on this tv apparently. It will be reboxed on Monday and taken back for a refund. It was purchased specifically to watch sports in the shed, the clarity of the picture is great but it’s not fit for purpose for me. Show details

The TV was ok but the life is VERY limited – We bought this 70" Bauhn TV 11/10/2021 and used it until Aug 2022 whereupon it was carefully transported in its original packaging to our new residence and stored as is in an insulated container until Jan 2024 when it was again put into service. “ Life’s A Lottery “ – G’Day Peeps. I don’t know if I’ve been kissed by an Angel because some of the reviews I’m reading just don’t stack up. another one a few weeks ago for my Man Cave to replace the garbage Hisense model already up that just decided to short out with smoke billowing out.I cant wait to shove this one up on the wall. Look, TV’s are like cars. You can get a lemon or you can an absolute pearler that doesn’t let you down. Who’s to say this 3rd one I’ve bought isn’t going to be a lemon ( I dam well hope not but life’s a lottery). And let’s face reality, Aldi are selling these 60 inch TVs for $500 bucks as opposed to thousands of dollars for other brands with the same features that can just as easily cark it so I’ll just take my chances but so far, BAUHN have not let me down, great value Aldi, very pleased. No complaints from me. Silver

Bad company and bad tv would not buy from again – I have tried contacting this company multiple times only to have my contact ignored both on through messages here or via email and Facebook their entire website contact form and content download system is entirely down and has been for months and months with no ways to contact them this tv has a dead pixel and may end up developing faults like the 2021 model which i am quite worried about
