Daelim NS 125 III

Love this scooter – I just bought a used 2006 model. Love it. This is very well put together. Panels , paint, mechanical as good as a car. The Korean build quality seems much better than similar sized Chinese or Taiwanese and way ahead of the Italian scooters I researched and viewed. After riding and owning more than 20 bikes over 30 years I can say that I enjoy it even more than my larger bikes. Admiitedly that is around town.
Very zippy, brakes well and handles fine. The size is also good for an adult rather than many of the tiny scooters around. Power, Quality of fit and finish, Headlights need more powerful globes,
Faultless commuting and a bit of fun – My scoot is now up to 16000k's and still feels like new. All of the important parts came sorted from the factory (e.g. fuel lines) and did not need replacing as is so common with cheaper scoots. I have never - and I mean never - had an issue. I start the scoot and let it warm up a little as I put on my helmet and gloves and then hammer it all the way to and from work every day.
The 12V accessory socket in the glovebox is surprisingly useful (plugging in a GPS etc), so much so that when I see a new scoot without one I just wonder WHY? Good fuel economy when used hard. I'm 6'1" with long legs and this scoot is very comfortable. My size 12 feet have lots of room to move around on longer trips and I have great knee clearance. The seat is comfortable, even with my 100kg's sitting on it. Full fairing keeps lower half of body dry during wet weather, but as mentioned above a screen is needed to keep your top half dry! I've ordered the factory screen...it's huge and covers your hands as well, great for winter riding. Finally, having the extra protection of an oil cooler just sets this scoot apart - even from other scoots that cost a lot more.
For normal climates the vinyl used on the seat is fine. But I leave the scoot outdoors every day and night in temperatures that range from -14 centigrade to 42 centigrade. Under these conditions the vinyl lasted 5 years, but a sudden frost froze and cracked the vinyl. I had it recovered (keeping the original foam) in a heavier duty vinyl and this issue will now never happen again. To be honest, I don't consider the material used to be faulty in any way - the stresses that I subjected it to were simply unreasonable! The headlights on low-beam are a little weak, but upgraded bulbs solve this easily and cheaply. I'm in the process of converting mine to HID lights, and the 11 core stator that comes factory standard (in fact many scoot owners go to a lot of trouble and expense to upgrade to an 11 core stator) makes this a very simple operation.
I would buy this scoot again (if this one ever wears out) in a heartbeat - no qualms whatsoever. It is one of the few vehicles that I would buy secondhand sight-unseen. Small wheels. Big wheels are for better handling on cobbled roads - not many of those here in Australia! The small wheels mean you get a big under seat storage area. This, combined with a top-box is all I have ever required, including when getting groceries. For normal climates the vinyl used on the seat is fine. Excellent – I think if you just cruised around doing 60 k it would get much better mileage and the bike handles really well.. I'm 55 and its the first bike i've had in 34 yrs so for me it has been great.. it seems to go just about as well with 2 people on it .. you can get 110 k/h with the wind behind you and 90 into a wind. Now that ive had it 2 yrs I would like a bigger bike but it just does the job so well I doubt that I will ever sell it. If you are going to ride on the Hyways I would get a bigger scooter 200cc or bigger but for town its great !! Its easy to ride and goes well for a 125. I get 28 klm / litre out of it and thats pretty much flat out all the time..I ride it hard and have 16,000 klm on the clock without a problem so far.... Leaves the cars sitting at the traffic lights without a problem ..Ive driven it to work nearly every day for 2 yrs now in all weather Its hard to say something negative... the tires that came with it didnt last long 4000k on the back and 9000k on the front... lights are good enough for around town.. the oil filter is $10 and needs repacing every 4000k and so does the fuel filter ...but haven't replaced it yet :-) the clock battery isn't worth the effort to change.. need to take to much apart to get at it...
Excellent – For what is out there, the NS 125 is good value. The seating is better than the TGB 125 for a persn who wants a comfortable safe ride i say, try theDaelim. P Boyns the overall product is so well made, the wide floor plan is good for my bowls bag and enough room left for my feetand ride safely. no wind shield

I am six foot 4 and it is a comfortable ride. It picks up well at the traffic lights and is consistent consistent consistent. It does what it is meant to do and does it well. It handles really well and is great for zipping down to the shops or commuting to work No falults maybe a windsheild.
