Poor value for mon – Difficult to hold and operate. Not highly effective. And stopped working after limited use. Had the full set with all the attachments....so was expensive investment for small return.

Waste of money – Worst ever mixer what I have used. The plastic container lid and the knife cannot attach properly so it is not working. You have to have lots of patience and time to find out how it works.

dont buy – As with the other reviews, the first one of these broke at the 9 months after purchase. It was the part that clips into the machine between each accessory - plastic part. Yes, they replaced, but not just the part, the whole kit. I was dismayed, what wastage. Then it happened again after 2 uses. Yes, told the warranty life only applies to original… Read more

purchase also no parts to purchase.

So can't image buying this brand again. If they knew it was a fault, a recall maybe have been money well spent, considering the large amount of bad reviews and disgruntled customers.

So if anyone wants to take the parts that work, inc the machine, please contact me.

Don't waste your money! – The Chopper attachment blade "melted" on the fixed stainless shaft on first use, and was replaced under warranty. The replacement has been used mainly as a whisk, and on first use of the Chopper, the spindle of the shopper seized, and on closer inspection, plastic shards had contaminated food. There is insufficient clearance between spindle and… Read more

body. KitchenAid cannot supply a replacement as it is out of warranty, and they cannot sell just the Chopper attachment. Their response was that we could purchase a complete set at a reduced price. Not good enough for a product that IMHO has a design flaw, which has affected many consumers according to the reviews. The product failed on first use on both the original purchase as well as the replacement under warranty. I am not sure if the design issue has been rectified, but I will not be purchasing another KitchenAid product again. Please do your own research.

Just what I wanted – This utensil was just what I needed in my kitchen, to be honest I purchased it and never used it for 6 months I can't imagine why now. It does a diverse number of jobs and has become a valued member of my "cooking team". What I really want to focus on and brag about is the customer service at Kitchen aid, my blending pitcher (jug) got a crack in… Read more

Expected more from this brand especially for the price – I only got this for the stick blender (If you have read my other reviews, the Morphy Richards one I got prior died during the first use). Works ok. If you run it on a high speed for more than 5 seconds at a time it will over heat and turn off. Then you have to wait for it to cool down (which includes switching off at the plug) before using it… Read more

again. Love all the accessories and box it comes with although not necessary ;) for me anyway. Would have loved the blender head to be a bit bigger so it can cover more food at a time ok instead of having to reposition the head to blend all the food up.

One of my most loved kitchen accessories – This little guy is a great deal - great brand which has well made products and easy to use customer service if you ever need it. This is a good price on a stick/immersion blender, and it comes with a very handy container with lid to blend/store in. Although you can blend in any container it can be hard to find ones with nice tall sides to help prevent splatter. Mostly important if you're working with something hot or something that might stain!  Show details ·  1

Waste of Money – First one of these broke at the 18 month mark - was replaced under warranty in a simple easy fashion and I was impressed with the company and the service. Unfortunately though, the replacement provided then broke [also after roughly 18 months]. only applies to original purchase. Therefore - my second broken & useless appliance is now out of warranty. Disgraceful that they sell a product [we purchased for $235] that clearly does not last longer than the two year warranty. At the time of the first one breaking I was told that it was a "known fault" .... they replaced this one with exactly the same model .... which I assume they know had the same fault. Really feels very unfair that they do not warranty the replacement item.

Appalling, do not buy – Same story as those below, plastic plastic plastic which doesn’t stand a chance in any kitchen. Once the teeth a stripped, which happens quite easily there are no part available so you Have to buy a whole new box for RRP minus their hugely generous discount of 10%. KitchenShade – My experience matches that of many other reviews. Not worth it – This stick mixer failed after 3 years of light use. Motor just started losing power. I hadn’t even used all the attachments! Very disappointed. I had an old Braun stick mixer that also died after 5 years of again light use. I will be buying a cheap stick mixer as I don’t think any are built to last. Show details

Terrible- don’t buy – Terrible mixer. Milk goes up stick part of machine and is impossible to clean. Customer service is useless and has never provided a solution. They say don’t submerse this part of blended however running water through it is the only way to get milk outthink mix poses a severe food safety risk- do not use! Very disappointing. Chopper attachment busted! – Replaced our breville which we had for 4 years for this artisan collection. Had for 1 month and the chopper attachment never worked properly, it sounds like we’re grinding rocks and the plastic below the blade looks like it’s getting mashed up with the food! I’ve only done biscuits, bread and nuts in there. So disappointing. I hope they replace it… Read more

KitchenAid says it can blend ice. Can’t even blend biscuits – You would expect the best for this price and from a brand like KitchenAid. We have the Standing Mixer and it’s great, but the stick blender is basically useless. We’ve tried to return it and even that process with KitchenAid is tiresome. Didn't even last 7 months – At first I was excited, the look of it. Never spent $300 on a stick mixer so had big expectations for this 'regarded' brand. Totally disappointed. Second Unit Fail on Motor Burn Out – This stick blender is basically useless. It was bought for light duties to prepare baby food and can't even do that. Good product - poor support – I had no issues with the performance of the machine until it ceased to operate, the build quality and feel of the hand blender was fantastic and the storage box was very handy. expecting to have to pay for a new handle mechanism and I would be back in action - although KitchenAid informed me that spare parts are not available for this machine. I feel that being a premium product with various accessories that are prone to wear and tear - parts should be at least available for consumers to purchase to be able to continue using the product. My next hand blender will be an alternate brand who warrant their motors longer and have spare parts available.

so disappointed – I guess I went with this expensive KitchenAid gadget for their reputation, but omg every time I use this product I find something new to hate about it CONS *The lid of the chopper fills up with water in the dishwasher and can't be drained. *The measuring jug looks microwave friendly (wouldn't that be versatile?) but has something hidden in the… Read more

base that fried dramatically *The speed control is flat and slippery, hard to grip even before you have buttery fingers. And it's really hard to see the marker you are supposed to be aligning with on this control *The case was real a draw card for me, to keep the parts together. But it's designed to be stored flat. Who has room for that? * I have no idea what danger the 'bell blades' were in to require 'bell guards' (apparently this danger occurs during storage within a dedicated compartment within a case??) *Whisk attachment does not lock in (as far as I can tell, despite perusing the manual and following instructions) So falls out of the blender stick randomly while in use * Chopper attachment sometimes just doesn't seem to line up correctly and the motor sounds like its going to grind itself into oblivion. It freaked out about a substance that was not even as thick as peanut butter. I sent a customer service request about this more than a week ago without any reply yet, but y'know, pandemic, so I'll be patient * Hazelnut chopping exercise ended up with an uneven combination of great chunks and powdered dust. * The beater/frother blade is pretty self explanatory, but I'll be buggered if I can figure out the the "S-blade" and the "multi-purpose blade" despite pondering on the user manual's descriptions for some time. The multi-purpose is apparently for "shredding", e.g. ice (?) gravy (?) and liquidising fruit (??) while the S-blade is for ummm, ice! And baby food (I guess that would only be baby food that doesn't involve liquidised fruit?) I just don't get how they are functionally different...

PROS * Nice deep red colour that goes beautifully with my microwave (facepalm)

Oh well. I'll see if they will take it back

OMG It is horrible!! – I can honestly say if you are using it for very soft food it works, however, process hummus or try to make something other than super light foods and it gets hot, overheats and stops working... I am zuper persistent as I have been making hummus for a day now... AND IT IS NOT WORKING! Can't wash it, because water gets stuck in the processor lid and the stupid thing falls apart when doing anything. Do not buy! Ever!!! Show details

Well designed but not effective – It works well for easy tasks, such as whipping cream or egg whites. But on the other hand heavy load such as puree and soup it has some difficulties, it most of the time cannot handle the load and unfortunately the machine stops, it keeps only an small hunming noise and gets hot, I need to turn it off from the walk and wait to use it again. That is an unfortunate. Show details

Good but with issues – We bought this when we had our baby 3 years ago. Seems ok UNTIL – So this works well for smoothing out soups. For making pesto etc using the included container that the blender snaps into - works quite well (not amazing), but it's very loud. cleaned properly without getting water stuck inside. It's SO unhygienic, it basically means you cannot use it. What is shocking is this is so obvious that it's an issue, there is just no way KitchenAid didn't know it was an issue and released the product, anyway. That's a truly disgusting way to treat customers who historically value their products. I have lost all faith in this company and won't be buying any more products going forward.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT ! – Just Like the user Nick posted below, we purchased this product less than 2 months ago and the very first time that we used it - to blend a pot of warm pumpkin soup - the machine cut out after around 30 seconds and makes a humming sound. This happened on 2 occasions. We took the blender back to Harvey Norman (where we purchased it from) and… Read more

showed a sales member a video that we took of the faulty machine cutting out after 30 seconds of blending - the sales member also then tested the blender in the store - by just running it in the air, putting NO resistance on it at all and she noted that the wand became very hot to the touch and that the machine's motor had a very variable sound, which is not quite right.

The sales person then rang Kitchenaid to authorise a return. She was told by a Kichenaid representative by the name of "[name removed]" that they would need to see the video first and asked that we forward the video to their email (enquiries@kichenaid.com.au) - so we sent the email containing a link to the video, a reference number and description of the error.

More than a week later, after hearing nothing back from Kichenaid, we again returned to Harvey Norman and stated that we would like a refund. The new sales rep then AGAIN called Kichenaid and they told her that they would not do a refund as it appears that the soup in the video was hot!!!!

This is absolutely crazy, firstly the soup was warm (not hot) and any steam was likely due to the fact that it is the middle of winter! Secondly, what a useless product it is if you can not blend warm items?? Thirdly, this product was CLEARLY defective and was even getting excessively hot just running in air and also making strange sounds out of the motor - as noted by the Harvey Norman sales rep.

I would recommend that people DO NOT BUY this product as it is clearly inferior and in my case was defective (which appears common if you read the other reviews here) and I would also, based on their VERY poor customer service, not recommend buying any Kitchenaid products at all, because if the product has an issue - good luck getting any result from them.

BTW, we have a $20 blender from Woolworths that works just perfectly with pumpkin soup - and our old Breville machine worked perfectly too..

Supposed to be an upgrade from my $100 Sunbeam stick mixer – My Sunbeam stick mixer died after 10 years. After a good experience with a KitchenAid stand mixer I decided without research that i would go for the KitchenAid. Being over double the price I assumed that it would be much better than my Sunbeam. I use it mainly for blending smoothies every morning and chopping vegetables, garlic, ginger, etc. I was… Read more

surprised when blending the smoothies that it felt it was not as powerful and took a little longer than my Sunbeam which I had also been using most days for the last 10 years. It was when I tried to chop carrots, garlic, celery, spinach, basil for the spag bog that the blade was just spinning around and moving the ingredients with it. Being a mechanical engineer I noticed that the bowl is smaller and has a smaller blade radius compared to my Sunbeam chopping bowl leading to a lower velocity at the tip of the blade. Long story short I paid twice as much for something that does half as good a job. Would love to have the money back and try out the Braun or another Sunbeam. Even more disappointed to read the above reviews stating that KitchenAid have discontinued selling a spare part to customers who have a single broken part that is out of warranty and general lack of customer service. I am worried I will be another one complaining when mine fails. I’m in the market for a food processor at the moment and I am glad I read the reviews on the KitchenAid as it seems they are not much better.

Drive Shaft Failure – I used this item about a dozen times and was very happy with it. However the plastic drive shaft within the blending arm shredded without notice, whilst I was reducing a very small handful of bread to breadcrumbs. This effectively meant that none of the bell blade attachments would work. If a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, a plastic driveshaft cannot be expected to drive metal attachments. Show details

Very Poor Quality Appliance – We’ve had this unit for a few years and like others who have reviewed it, we’ve been very disappointed with an appliance that is from what we thought was a quality brand. horrendous squealing sound randomly when blending.

The bowl is a good size for 2 people, however the food immediately sticks to the side and you spend more time with the spatula scraping it down than the actual blending should take.

The stick attachment lasted only 2 uses after which the plastic connector destroyed itself when crushing some ice.

The final straw came this week when the bottom pin of the mixing bowl dislodged some plastic and the blade collapses down and gets wedged and won’t spin.

This was our first and will most likely be our last KitchenAid product.

noticed a black, watery grease coming out of the blending head when blending light coloured vegetables. I assume that it was also in the other vegetables, but I couldn't see it. I started cleaning both the stick and the head in hot soapy water immediately prior to use so that my food wasn't contaminated, but I'm not really sure that got all of the leaking lubricant.

In recent months, as well as the leaky lubricant problem, the stick part of the blender has come apart where the shaft meets the connection cone. I have to fiddle with it to re-seat each time and blending has become almost impossible as it shaft falls out of alignment when I lift the blender off the bottom of the pot.

I have tried to get a replacement stick part, but have been told it was unavailable. For a top-of-the-range price, I was expecting a much sturdier appliance
