Stihl RE 128 Plus

Excellent when it works – Machine is excellent, I have trouble making the pump kick in , the only way would be to turn the water pressure down and sometimes it made it work , or to shake violently, a practice I'm not use to; Is this common and is there a quick fix ?? ; I've had to go out and buy a cheaper (non-Stihl) machine, please advise , John Carver Johnnyc2468@gmail.com  Show details

No longevity – I have the same problem cats out after just 30 minutes of use need away at least an hour for the switchback on. I took it back to the retailer and had it repaired and still does the same thing. And after only one season storage seals of all perished and links water everywhere. more to repair the machine then to buy a new one. When you buy a product with the Stihl badge you expect reliability and longevity.

RE 128 plus – Don't think its worth any stars, has not had much use. under 20 hours, brought from local dealer WINDSOR, problems with cutting out, then after 20 mins, it starts again. Not worth the money paid £350. Guarantee just run out, my last one was a Bosch, lasted 10 years. Stihl products should last longer, Do not recommend this company.

Made in China with a German name – Made in China with a German name. Not much more to say. Some pressure switch inside seems to have stuck after winter storage in heated basement, at first it would not pump at all, just the motor running, next day it would pump but only about half the pressure of previous summer. more than twice the price of previous units which did at least last 2 or 3 seasons. Also, the plastic connection for garden house split the first day I used it. Nice and heavy though -- a real boat anchor.

bad – This is a bad product. does not work after 1 winter in storage. water leaks all over. no pressure. a real garbage product and expected more from this brand, but really disappointed. The amount of money i paid for this it should be working at least 10 summers not just one.

horrible – About to take it back for the second time, same problems as the other review, cuts out and does not gain pressure and won’t turn back on. Only having this one for less than 2 months, i find it pathetic that a trusted brand has such a poor product on the market. Would not recommend this headache to anyone! too many problems

Terrible – Of the product when it works - its quite good. But for it to consistently trip out on so called water pressure when others do not is ridiculous. high water flow, cleaned concrete driveways etc far quicker than with a cheaper brand when it actually worked. This product has been a nightmare with warranty claims. Initially worked fine. Then all of a sudden 2 months later it starts cutting out every time you release the trigger. Stihl check it out and find its got a broken fan - takes almost 2 months to repair it. Get it home, still cuts out. another couple of weeks and stihl advise they've tested it fine and our water pressure is too high at our domestic tap. riiiight. We had a Gerni and Karcher going there at the same time during the flood no problems at all. If it can't operate on the normal water pressure at our place (which is not high by any standards) then why would you take the risk
