trouble taking the whole thing down off the wall and back to Aldi. However, this month, it stopped working. It is not uncommon that white goods goes dead after 5 years of usage, however I need to reiterate that I seriously rarely use the dryer, the total times annually the dryer been put to use is less than a dozen. Considering this facts, it might be fair to say that the quality of Sterling 6kg Dryer is not that satisfactory.

Good cheap dryer - simple but effective – This was the cheapest dryer going when I bought it and its has put in three solid years. Its not about to won any beauty pageants but it does the intended job and has run without a hitch for years. It makes a big difference to have a dryer in Melbourne. Slipping belt – I find cheaper equipment is as good as the big name brands even if you have to improvise,If you find this dryer to slip in the cold weather. eliminate your slipping problem,this same technique could work with other machines.Be careful not to use too short springs as this could put too much strain on the appliances.

Great item but you need to install with an exhaust tube – This machine works well but you need to install it with an exhaust tube so that the steam is directed outside your laundry. If you do not do this the condensation gets into the control panel and it will not switch on until it has dried out. (approx 20 mins in my case) If you direct the steam outside of your laundry you will not have the problem of machine not starting. It really works great. Thanks Aldi for an affordable dryer.

Not the Greatest – This dryer would have to be one of the worst dryers for a family. This dryer would suit a couple or a single person. It dried clothes well but you can't put a full load in otherwise it takes hours to dry them, maybe even still wet after a full cycle. So you can only put a small or half load in at a time. clothes, you may not be able to start the dryer again for a while, maybe even over an hour. It's as if the dryer needs a long break when it may have only been on for half an hour. It doesn't have a setting for how long you want the dryer to be on for, only how dry you want the clothes which is fairly annoying. The only thing I like about this dryer is the anti-crease setting which actually works great, no need to iron!

numerous drying heats and times, stainless steel drum, looks good. Can be floor or wall mounted and comes with the button sticker panel either way up.

Tho now we have it right way up and took the old panel sticker off to apply the new one but its bubbling and not sticking well.

Still dries the same but with the noise after 3 yrs. Have no, other complaints and very happy with it other than the noise.

Does the job – It's nothing fancy, but the price tag is reflective of that. I usually just use the 1 hour cycle. There are options to have a light air dry or more heat. It's not intelligent enough to know when the clothes are dry, so you have to just keep checking. It's good for winter when nothing dries for days or when it's raining for days on end.  Show details

Stirling Dryer 6 KG – Terrible !! DO NOT purchase the Stirling Dryer. The lint filter keeps coming out and because the dryer only dries in one direction sheets end up I a big ball and don't dry. Leaking water - new 6.5 model – Only run it a few times and found it is leaking so will probably return it. Have never known a dryer to leak water before. The controls on it make it look like a sensor dryer but it is not - the "modes" are just different run times - well featured for the price though. Disappointing as we are usually happy with Aldi gear but it seems that dryers are not something they do well.

Do not buy!! – We Bought this dryer and immediately noticed it was so loud it sounded like it was about to take off! Now only 12 months old It literally just caught on fire for no reason at all! Thank god for our smoke alarm or we might not have been so lucky!!

absolute crap – Took three hours to dry anything on high. Six months then just stopped working. Under Warranty with proof of purchase, rang Aldi, no responsibility, got handed over to suppliers......still waiting for response to our complaint. Don't buy anything from Aldi!!!! contacted them 2.5 months ago and they keep telling me (when I contact them to follow up) that they've ordered a part but it's still not in. So I have had no dryer for 2.5 months. Not worth buying.

4 years and it's packed it up – Aldi Stirling dryer 6 kilo was a great deal at the time. After 4 years the rubber band that turns the dryer broke. Paid $27 dollars and fixed it myself. Service wanted $180 to come out and fix . Could of bought a new one now for $199 ;)

Terrible! Leaves water and lint all over floor. this would be partially dried as the load got drier but then a fine layer of lint would then be sprayed over the top of the water and it would set on the floor!! Had to block the laundry off during use so that no-one would slip in it, VERY DANGEROUS! Serviceman came out, he said it was designed badly. Cheap – After reading reviews on this site I thought it was a bargain and went and got one. 4 months down the track the motor is so noisy you can't hear yourself think... Also only dries clothes on the "extra dry" setting, and of course... I can't find the receipt. You'll find it at the Toowoomba Tip. Mum has had a 6kg Simpson for years, might get one of those. Also, my nanna has had a hoover for 20 years. They don't make em like that anymore.

So I've replaced with a different brand from a different store (for double the price of the Sterling one) For $249, I think getting 3 1/2years out of it was ok. The lint filter did fall out heaps but it didn't bother me . It wasn't too loud . I'd recommend it so long as you weren't looking for something that was going to last you 10 years!

Very Economical – I recently bought this dryer as my 15 year old dryer was getting tired and noisy. I was very impressed with the warranty, the size, it is cheap to run and the price was great given most dryers are over $400 for the same size. I would recommend this product to friends and family. I was looking for parts for a friend as she had lost the wall mounting brackets that came with the d – I needed the brackets for wall mounting and ended up inquiring at ALDI who suggested a website where I found the parts I needed. The dryer itself has been working well and it was only for the need of more space in the laundry that the brackets were needed. Given away as lint filter never cleaned and manual never read. A perfect dryer – I found this 11 month old dryer on side of road with free sign. Took it home, wiped out the inside drum and immediately saw the reason it cut out. A full uncleaned filter and large pad of lint blocking the lower grill. the crease free setting and the reversing drum worked well. This will be great for sheets /towels. The lint filter stays in fine when mounted on a wall not upside down! Didnt cause excessive humidity in laundry with small part open window. 1700w as advertised, crease removal works, 3 heat settings, dryness settings, doesnt overdry, efficient. No faults Just clean the filters ladies and there will be no probs.

Filter falls out – The lint filter falls out when this is wall mounted because it mounts upside down. When the dryer is hot, the problem is worse (presumably due to heat expanding the holding lugs). So Far So Good – Old Fisher and Paykel died just as we were on our way out to Aldi was going to buy a condenser dryer when we had the money but not right now. Anyway we needed a dryer and just happened to be one a Aldi thought what the hell lets give it a try. Takes a bit longer to dry than the old dryer but works ok so far. Price and Warranty Takes a bit longer to dry
