Zoomy Leisure Maxi Scooter

Broken scooter, no seller response – We purchased a zoomy scooter for my daughter's birthday. After a month of normal use, the brake fell completely off. After 5 emails and countless unanswered phone calls, we contacted NSW Fair Trading. They have also been unable to contact the seller and are unable to provide a resolution, leaving us nearly 80.00 dollars out of pocket. Poor quality scooter coupled with atrocious customer service – I purchased this scooter for my son for Christmas. After only a couple of hours of scooting, the brake pad snapped off. I attempted to contact Zoomy on at least 3 occasions and my emails were ignored. Plus the phone number listed on their website is not correct. A complete waste of money. Scooter UNSAFE nuts and bolts fall off DANGEROUS do not buy – The first time my three year old rode his brand new zoomy scooter the handle bar height adjuster screws came loose and the screw fell off. We found the screw and put it back and tightened it right up. It happened again and we searched for the screw found it and tightened it again. park and the screw came loose and we could not find it again. We emailed zoomy. The company eventually sent out a replacement part but only after I followed up on my unanswered initial emails. A few weeks later my three year old was riding his zoomy and the front wheel just fell off! He received cuts and bruises. Luckily he wasn’t seriously hurt! I emailed zoomy again and they sent a replacement wheel nut and bolt. Now just two years after purchasing it the other front wheel has fallen off. This time while his little brother (2yeare old) was riding it! Luckily he was going pretty slow when the wheel fell off and he wasn’t badly hurt.

I’ve emailed zoomy again and their reply

“We received your mail the other day and weren’t really sure how to answer you.

Your scooter was purchased back in August 2016, over two years ago.

The photos show a scooter with quite a few corroded parts which leads one to think that the scooter has been left out in the elements.

A scooter is just like a bike or a car, it has moving parts. It needs to be taken care of and serviced regularly. It needs to be kept out of the elements, cleaned regularly and nuts and bolts need to be checked and tightened.”

This is their entire reply, no apology. No offer to repair or replace. They expect that after just two years of use a scooter can fall apart! Please do not buy these scooters they are NOT SAFE for your kids. We keep our scooter in the undercover area. Our razor is 6 years old and nothing has ever fallen off it. Our micro scooter also no problems. Don’t waste your money with zoomy. Three parts fallen off in just two years and no help from the company.

Light up the kids life – My kids (3.5 and 2years) love their scooters, and so do older friends kids. out the break pad ... This scooter means I have bought 1x and not having to buy another model when they turn 5 .. its so versatile and the bonus is I occ get to hop on too as it can take up to 60kgs... Customer service are excellent too ... !!! ENJOY .. thank you ZOOMY LEISURE ..

Great Scooter! – My 6 year old daughter absolutely loves her new scooter. It's easy to ride n the lights in the wheels r really cool. Great quality and really fast delivery. Highly recomend Zoomy!

Great scooter at a great price – My four-year-old has had this scooter for four months now and so far so good. We have a maxi micro for my older son and absolutely love it but couldn't afford to buy another and then found the Zoomy scooters which seem to be the same design but just a generic version and less than half the price. cheaply, so far it has performed identically and is going strong. It has a similar weight limit (45kg for the zoomy, 50kg for the micro) and my son loves the flashing wheels of the zoomy - I like these too when dusk falls while we're making our way home.

No complaints so far.
