Flawed TV - unprofessional customer service – I have been a Samsung fan and applaud the company for making so many high-quality things. I have their flagship phone, family hub fridge with big screen, flagship smart lock , washing machine etc.

I moved to a new house and pre-ordered the new Q80T 75 inch (6 weeks wait with full payment). As I thought it's a bright tv to suit bright rooms perfectly and get value as its massive 75 inch and its a Samsung what could go wrong Right? Wrong!

Just about everything about this TV is wrong. I can explain below:

Following is verified from "TechOne" a third party technician provided by Samsung. It also has been acknowledged by Samsung. I can provide references.

Some can be fixed with the repair but some are design issues which are far annoying for any pleasurable TV experience.

Problems: ======

Massive juddering/malformed words : ------------------------------------------- - To a point when a fast-moving objects move slightly faster you see half of the face left behind. - The scroll text (credits) has a massive judder and text literally jumps while going up. See video attached. - I have changed sources with same issue. - I have also tried the in-built apps with same issue

Sparkle with colour loss on overlayed section: --------------------------------------------------- - For example when text is scrolling up and another information is overlayed. That new information/button will slow down processing and jutter with loss of colour. Example. When netflix over lays program rating or buttons overlayed for "next episode"

Halo/fuzziness for far objects: --------------------------------- - If I am looking at a far object that object seems to have strange halo around it, or fuzziness. Very annoying. Sound like background processing is not happening. - Even in dynamic mode it is not sharp at all.

Permanent Gray banding : ---------------------------- - TV is full of grey banding vertical lines that is a massive distraction for anything you watch. - This grey banding is so pronounced that anything with greenfield (sports) or blue sky is unbearable to watch and takes your attention away from action/actor/objects. - attached picture for you to see how annoying it can be. this has taken the joy away of viewing.

Absence of Smooth color degradation: -------------------------------------------- - Attached the picture for you see that color gradient is not taken into account i.e there is no smooth blend as I have seen on my previous TVs. Hope Samsungs engineers can see that picture too.

Black levels: -------------- - I know this is not an OLED and its wrong to compare it with that technology. Having said that, the in-house performance of black levels and showroom performance is two different things altogether.

Dimming/color: ------------------ - In black scene, it would dim the TV down to preserve the back level even when the auto-dimming/intelligent mode is turned off. This reduces the colour volume/tone. Is there a point of buying QLED for bright rooms?

Remote/Menu/ambient mode: ---------------------------------- - The remote seems to small for quick navigation between channels. - Ambient mode from demo I saw on launch should be like a screen saver not dedicated button. - Ambient mode timer does not wake up automatically as per schedule I set.

All above I said is acknowledged by Samsung, TechOne and also by Harvey Norman. Only thing offered is the repair for the jittering issue! what about the other design issues? • I do not want a repair on brand new flagship TV which had factory problems. • Most problems are also reported already on this forum by other buyers. • Even if I repair it then it will not fix the design issues! • In past months I have been patient with Samsung by jumping through ○ On-line technicians (tv reset, settings changed) ○ On-site technicians (brought their own USB with videos and confirmed the issues) ○ And waited for an outcome • but my experience with the highest department especially person "[Name Removed]" has been horrible (Samsung has recordings). • Complain method with Samsung is not yielding any results. Nobody calls back. • When I ask for replacement/refund Samsung says talk to Harvey Norman and when I contact Harvey Norman I have been given a run around to talk to Samsung. • Harvey Norman Fyshwick in past have been great 20 years but not sure where and who I should talk to?

Not happy. Must return this set !

Purchased at Harvey Norman for $3,460.

Hi @Kath, The facebook team without reading above mentioned flaws (which cannot be repaired) has not been fruitful.

So i take that Samsung is not willing to own up issue in the tv set and leaving a loyal customer high and dry!

This is same issue as Patrick reported in another thread.

Not sure why there are two outcomes of same problem?

Hi @Kath your representative is saying they can fix only jittering issue! What about the remaining points raised above? Awfull :(

Hi Kath, I have added some pictures to further aid the other categories which I doubt can be fixed as they are by-design.

- Motion is an issue but without the line/banding removal, smooth color degradation there is no joy to enjoy watching anything other content. not happy! - I ask why does consumer spend money on premium brand and premium screen when they are not getting the product they paid for? - In my previous TV I never experienced any of above-mentionaed issues.
