Purchased the 300w folding solar blanket and am very disappointed, it averages in full sun an input of 5-7amps, compared to my 320w solid panels… Read more
putting in 15amp in the same position at the same time (charging a different battery). Bit of a waste of money and time getting this blanket, does not perform anywhere near what's advertised.
Looks good but has a serious design flaw – This unit looks well made and comes complete with quality pre-terminated cable stubs, making installation easy. As a DCDC charger running from a… Read more
vehicle, it does what it says on the box. I am charging a Lithium battery so required a suitable charge profile. The voltage and current profile and end of cycle charge cut-off seem to work fine. So far so good. But it is the MPPT solar input that is the disappointment. This unit does not commence charging a battery until the solar panel is producing in excess of about 35W of power. Then the MPPT charger seems to work fine. Below this, the unit refuses to charge a battery and just constantly restarts and fails to charge. So a normal vehicle roof mounted solar panel of 110 to 160W in overcast weather has insufficient output to get this unit to start charging, even though 3+ amps of charge (enough to run a fridge) is available from the panel. My Renogy and CTek MPPT solar controllers do not behave in this way. I was forced to buy an additional, better designed, solar charger to charge my batteries rather than rely on the Atem MPPT solar input. Unless this shortcoming can be overcome, I can not recommend this unit which is unfortunate as in other respects, it should be a winner.
Excellent product and fast delivery even to outback Queensland. Thanks

5 panels five failures within 9 months of installation – I purchase 5 of these panels in November 2023, for various reasons they were not installed until May 2024. I noticed their output had considerable… Read more
reduced in early January 2025 and had each one tested with a solar panel meter. This meter gives a report of VOC output voltage VMP output voltage and power output. Two panels tested with a power output of 48 to 50 watts with a VMP of 12volts and the other three measured 12 to 19 watts with a VMP of 12 volts. The VMP should be around 18 volts and the power output at the time should have been at least 80 to 100 watts. Another panel of a different brand was tested at the same time to confirm the operation of the meter, this test produced results within the expected range.
The vendor only supplies a twelve-month warranty from the date of purchase even though Atem Power advertises a 3-year warranty. I have been unable to find a way to contact Atem Power to lodge a warranty claim as their website provides no contact details or option to lodge.
After reading other reviews of peoples experience along with my own regarding Atem Power solar panels my recommendation to anyone looking to purchase these panels would be to purchase from another manufacturer and not be tempted by the good price and slick advertising.
I have since followed my own hard earned advice and replaced them with a different and more reputable brand.
Great product, works well – I would have given 5 stars but the Solar Controller was faulty, DOA. I did however get a great replacement sent to me after contacting VicOffRoad /… Read more
Sunyee AU. No hassle or arguing from VOffRoad, just a 'Yep, no problem Ill send a new one out', arrived in good time as well.
I found it very difficult getting reviews for solar panels when looking to upgrade my 150 to this Sunyee 300w so hopefully this will be useful to others. I have a DCDC charger so bypassing the Solar Controller I last got 12-13amps at 3pm in full sun. (during Feburary in Sydney) I was pretty happy with that result, the best I ever got from my unbranded 150w was 6amps at Midday. I chose the lightweight option as I am bound by weights in my camper, as a consequence the panels are half the weight of glass types and can get blown around quite easy. Its the only problem I have had and got around it by using tent pegs in the closing clasp metal loops. Still no good for very windy days and u just have to lie flat on the ground if in such condictions, not really a big issue either.
Will be out all easter so will try and update my review with a two week usage review.

Only just had the chance to use again a few weeks ago, in the full sun I was getting about 15amps sometimes 16amps. The leg system is a bit flimsy with no height adjustment. they need a mod of alloy tube and a couple screws so you can adjust leg length for angling panels to sun. They are very light also, possibly too light LOL... They can be prone to blowing over in the wind so I have been pegging down when the wind picks up. I have also bypassed the PPMT that comes with it and plug straight into a Projecta DC/DC charger. Have not used the PPMT that came attached as yet. Overall, Im very happy on performance/quality/build for the price. The sellers are really helpful as well

Atem power battery box – After a few weeks the volt metre stopped working altogether. After approx. 2 months both cigarette sockets were so rusty that they couldn't be used. It's advertised as a marine product and not worth buying.
Poor DC DC charger design as well. It does not produce the rated 20A output reliably. Update on… Read more
