the company involved and their customer service, plus a warning to anyone attending future expos to be mindful of this happening.

We went to the Baby Studio Australia stall and bought one of their baby baths for $20, this was fairly early in the day. We were really happy with the bath, it’s basically the last item we need. The lady asked when I was due and I said 7th of December, she then offered to hold on to the bath (after we’d paid for it) so we didn’t have to carry it around. We said thanks that would be great. We went to a few of the talks and explored the expo more and then when we were ready to go home we went back to pick up the bath and they told us they sold it to someone else and were now all sold out.

I had paid for the bath on my credit card and it was my husband who went to pick it up. They gave him $20 back in cash and said there was nothing they could do and but I went back to them and said I didn’t want a refund I have a copy of my receipt and I really wanted the product we paid for. They told us that they are all sold out and don’t have anymore stock. I went on to their website where the product is still in stock and you can order it and asked if they could just send us one of those as we really wanted it and were really happy with the product. They told us that they only have limited expo stock available for the $20 price so if we wanted one we would have to pay the full price which is $80. They said that once the expo stock is sold they won’t sell anymore for that price but we did buy one of the expo ones, we were one of the first people to buy it. So now if we want the bath we had our hearts set on we have to pay 4x the price plus postage.

This really upset me as I’m sure you can imagine being 36 weeks is a stressful time and I was so happy when we bought it that we didn’t have to stress anymore about this last item we needed and it freed up some money to buy other things at the expo.

I’ve been in touch with the company since the incident and their customer service has been terrible and won’t work to fix the problem, other than me paying a massive markup on a product I already bought.

Anyways I just wanted to share this stressful situation with other people who might be looking to buy from this company. Please beware.
