Best Mother-Ease Baby Nappies
Leak-proof – I own several types of cloth/reusable nappies and these have to be the best for containing leaks. Have used in combination with the mother-ease inner… Read more
soakers and with other brands of soakers and even the good old convention nappy cloths. They're just not as cute as other nappies - the prints of frogs and sea animals and so forth could be improved upon. Leak-proof. Prints are not entirely cute.
These Nappies do not leak! – I have tried four nappy brands (Hippybottomus, Baby Beehins, Biobums and Mother-ease. they all have pluses and minuses. The mother-ease are fantastic… Read more
in that iv found they never leak, over night i use a booster insert or double inserts and have not had a leak yet, where as the other brands are hit and miss for over night use. However they do leave a red mark on babies thighs (nothing serious) but for that reason i only use these nappies at night and use other nappy brands during the day. They are also expensive. I like the idea of air flow nappies though it is hard to tell whether it really works. if you need a no leak nappy i suggest forking out and getting a few of these. no leaks over night, good quality leaves marks on babies thighs, slightly trickier to put on
Great nappies – Very good quality and durable mcn. I bought some second hand, was very impressed with the quality, as they were still in perfect condition despite a… Read more
fair bit of use, so bought more new ones. I could fit the small sized ones on bub at 6 weeks. Advantage over the all in one nappies is that you don't need to wash PUL covers at every use, and nappies last longer as the PUL deteriorates quicker than the actual nappies. I haven't had any leaks, the nappies work better than disposable ones!
Good – These were definitely the better choice for newborn, as the small Rikki is much more fitted than the small airflow covers. We used prefolded terry… Read more
squares in the first month, and the Rikki was great, as it allowed us to be pin/snappi free! The fit around the legs was the best, and really contained EVERYTHING that was thrown at it. The back of the cover looks simple, but was also explosion proof.
Have not used the medium size, so not sure how it would go on an older infant. Great fit, especially around legs (gusseted), means the cover is bulletproof. Very adjustable, and enables prefold/terry nappies to be used without the need for pins due to the great snug fit through the pelvis. Great big Aplix strip across top makes it very adjustable in a range of directions, and is very strong. Seems to restrict movement just a little. Aplix catches on fabric if you forget to fasten the tabs to the front before you wash. Is quite loud to undo.
Great for toddlers needing a night nappy – Our toddler age 3.5 is a big night time wetter. He will wet through a disposable easily overnight. These Mother-Ease Bedwetter pants are good at… Read more
keeping him dry. We add a booster (bamboo, which soaks up more). It's not perfect - the waistband of the pyjama pants is usually a little wet in the morning so we also have to wash pyjamas daily, but we don't need to wash sheets every day which is great.
Because of the elasticised waistband the toddler can take himself to the toilet if he wants to.
We love the Mother-Ease cloth nappy system, having used the one-size nappy for both our babies. The toddler no longer fits the one-size nappy, but the bedwetter pants are clearly designed for bigger kids, and come in a range of sizes. We have a rolling stock of 3, but could do with an extra 1-2 pairs as it can take a couple of days to air dry in cooler weather.
The Mother-Ease nappies are very well made, we're into our fourth year of daily use, and they're almost as good as new. A good dose of sunshine is usually enough to brighten them up again.
We bought ours online from Nip Naps. Louise is fantastic, very helpful, and is happy to exchange nappies if they're not right (provided they haven't been used, of course).
Although cloth nappies seem expensive to buy, you save thousands of dollars in the long run. Copes with a huge volume of liquid (especially with a booster added) Slight leakage at waistband, but not enough to need daily sheet change
