water—whether cruising around Sydney Harbour or exploring Pittwater—has been an incredible way to spend quality time together.
I initially started with the weekday membership, which was a great introduction. We enjoyed it so much that I recently upgraded to the full 7-day membership to make the most of what Pacific Boating has to offer.
Dealing with Adam and his team has been a pleasure—always friendly, helpful, and professional. The boats are well maintained, the booking system is easy to use, and the entire experience has been seamless from day one.
Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy boating without the hassle of ownership!

through all our bags (without asking) and taking all our food out of them before we were allowed on the boat. He then put the food in the galley and told us we were not allowed there without permission. So like infants we had to ask permission when we’re hungry to eat. He also found that it was his place to tell people how they should cater and demanded the girl who’s bday it was that he will need to dock so she could buy more food because he thought she did not cater appropriately. She felt very confronted and worried she was going to spoil everyone’s time. These were just a couple of instances of the exchanges but overall he was a domineering and fairly unhappy person and when asked why he didn’t just ask everyone what they wanted was defensive and angry and threatened to dock. Was a nice day on the water but every single person on the boat ( around 30) all agreed won’t be using that particular boat ever again.

had the brainwave to get a house boat but shuddered to think of the cost. A bit of Googling and asking for recommendations gave me Holidays Afloat as a clear front runner in the field and they did not disappoint. They are very helpful in the lead up to going away, lovely and very helpful staff when you get there and checking in as you’re on your journey and then when we got back to a flat battery they saved us an NRMA callout by giving us a jump start. Impeccable service to the very end and the boat adventure just speaks for itself…!! How could you go wrong?!
Gold Coast from the water – This was the best water cruise we have experienced. Great electric boat. 90 minutes excellent value for money. Gordon was a really interesting crew. Highly recommend. Show details

quality and service provided on this boat and by the family owned business was second to no others. We base our observations on over 20 different boats hired since late 1988 between Murray Bridge and the Customs House, so there is some experience here. Tim, and his son Matt, went out of their way to ensure our trip was memorable, hassle free and a total pleasure for my entire family. This was particularly important as we were introducing our youngest Grandies to this experience for the first time. Tim has sound knowledge of the area which added to the experience, with information stretching back before Federation when the Customs House was utilised in it's named role. They have a range of well appointed boats to cater to many family sizes, budgets and needs. We can wholeheartedly recommend this business for a "layback" and family or friends bonding holiday on a beautiful and quiet part of the mighty Murray River.

boat, so I had to pay the difference for the actual boat that was illustrated the one that I wanted. When asked for advice where should I take my family to fish? They had no idea. In fact the guy said to me I don’t fish so I couldn’t tell you. I couldn’t believe that! So it was like the blind leading the blind. Then the guy tried to show me how to use the fishfinder and had no idea, didn’t know how it worked and didn’t know why it wasn’t working properly. But nothing was done and we were sent on our way. I know it was broken because it was reading Half a metre depth and when I put the rod in to find out if that was accurate I couldn’t even touch the bottom. And no, we weren’t moving. We were at anchor.. without any direction on where to take the family fishing, We packed up early and dropped the boat off early and just left. Very very very bad Experience. I will be posting this on all the forums so people know that these guys have no idea what they’re talking about about And really don’t care about your experience.

seven days in January 2023 from Queensland Yacht Charter and encountered many boat problems along with unprofessional & hostile charter management. 1. Lost a day because the generator was faulty. Partly because of this, the boat briefing was spasmodic and disjointed (briefer claimed first time to brief on this boat) as he was also dealing with the tender’s fuel tank not being full, replacing the missing ice chest, filling the boats water tank and agreeing the BBQ was unclean but didn’t have the time to address it. 2. Rain leak in starboard saloon and the boat was delivered with tarpaulin that had to be rearranged to slow the leaks. (Cushions sodden wet, had to be stripped and dried over following 2 days) 3. Dead and live cockroaches in cabins, saloon, and cockpit (6 instances) 4. Main outhaul was chaffed, unsafe to the extent we stopped using the sail. 5. Forward port cabin hatch also taped up to prevent rain from entering. 6. Shore power leads (all three connectors) were full of water and tripped the dock relay. We had to disassemble, dried and taped with plastic. (QYC accuses we dropped in the water, we did not) 7. 2 x AC’s not working (stern port cabin front saloon unit) and both fail to cool air. There were several other more debatable issues but given Dream Yacht Charter’s blameless responses and complete unwillingness to take any responsibility we let these issues speak for themselves. We were offered a refund for 1 ½ days rental, which we declined in preference for sharing our experience in the hope others reconsider using such a shoddy operator as Dream Yacht Charter their other brand, QYC (Queensland Yacht Charters)
Istion Yachting

decades and have reasonably substantial offshore experience. Six of us (including two engineers) chartered a catamaran from Istion Yachting, Lefkada, in the Ionian Sea during September 2024. As experienced charterers and sailors we need to share, regrettably, that our experience with Istion Yachting was exceptionally disappointing. Overall, the boat and tender were in average to poor condition due to poor maintenance. Plainly some of this was attributable to the fact that the boat would have been under constant charter during the chartering season. For example, the tender’s outboard engine was in poor condition as it was prone to constant overheating and was very unreliable. Despite being meticulous in handling the boat, when we returned to Lefkada Marina, Istion’s base manager, [Name Removed], blamed us for various maintenance issues which frankly had nothing to do with us. There was, however, a significant issue in that the prop seal on the port engine, likely overdue for service, had partly failed - leaking sea water into the gear box oil.
Istion, apparently seeking to have us cover their own regular maintenance costs, alleged that we had caused the problem by fouling a fishing line. Curiously, [Name Removed] said to us that it was ‘impossible for us to know whether we had fouled any fishing twine’. We understand the point he was trying to make, namely that fishing twine is very fine and essentially colourless and essentially very difficult to see whilst underway. And he appeared to be saying that there was simply nothing we could do to avoid snagging fishing twine. The reality was that we were very focussed on this and always tried to steer clear of fishing boats or areas where fishing was occurring. But the conclusion seems to be that, even if we acted diligently and did everything correctly, we were apparently nonetheless liable for damage. But importantly, we asked many times for some evidence that we had caused the problem. All we received were some photographs of a propeller shaft which indeed confirmed a general lack of maintenance according to our engineering advice. There was simply nothing that evidenced that we had caused the seal rupture. Indeed, the photographs were consistent with some twine having been snagged at a time prior to our charter. Subsequently, following a complaint on our part, Istion did refund 25% of the bond amount. Attributing us with any cost was absurd as it was plainly a problem that we had not caused, according to our engineers. Accordingly, we feel we need to caution people to avoid Istion Yachting. We have been left feeling that a substantial proportion of our bond has simply been applied, without our consent, towards end of season maintenance. Clearly, it’s open to us to institute legal proceedings in Greece from Australia, and we are considering this option.
