paring. We tried everything to fix the problem. We removed the HDMI cable, turned the box on and off, we also removed and replaced the remote batteries with no luck. With that frustration, we purchased a Blaupunkt android tv box and we now have zero problems. We do not recommend Xiaomi.

looking wide and far foe the right Android phone. In the interim I used a Pixel 2 XL which I really enjoyed. The phone was a great intro to the Android ecosystem and I wondered if I would wat the Google Pixel 4a or 5 after plying for the 2XL foe the last few months.
Well the short answer is No I don want the Google phone and this is why:
Pros: - Vibrant screen and super responsive. I read alot about this phone only having a 60Hz refresh rate... it doesn't matter for the general punter... - Snapdragon 865 chipset is lightning quick and the phone is so amazingly responsive - I like the larger size and weight - feels like you are holding a good quality phone and you are. Keep this in mind if you don't want a big phone then don't consider this. - Camera is better than expected... Im no professional photographer but i am happy with the snaps I have taken with this phone.
Cons - Probably too much pre-loaded software this is why I bought the 8GB/256GB phone to circumvent some of peoples moaning online. Glad I paid the extra few bucks. - People complain about the ads but they're predominantly unobtrusive and in my opinion they offset some of the cost of the phone because you're getting amazing value for money.
My first impressions are I am sooo glad I got this phone. I will do another update to this review after a month to discuss any points of frustration or happiness. There was only one review on this platform and the advice by that person really informed my decision.

just great. So far everything works without issues.
Supports two SIMs, and allows to specify through which SIM data will go. Even can set individual rules for the programs.
NFC and Google Pay work without issues here in Australia.
The camera is fast, quality is good, yet not very convenient for switching between normal and ultra-wide modes. Yes, ultra-wide camera is present.
Infra-red blaster is present, but unfortunately my TV (Hisense 50K220PW) doesn't exist in MiRemote database so can't confirm if it works or not. Tried to use a few of remotes from Google Play store - all crap heavily riddled with ads to the point of being completely unusable.
MIUI launcher is pathetic, but it can be replaced with a third-party launcher. I am using Nova Launcher Prime instead and did not encounter any problems so far. Everything just works.
Xiaomi tries to lure the user into using its own software like MiCloud or sign up to Mi account, but fortunately all of this can be disabled/refused/hidden/deleted and will not cause any problems.
The standard software from Xiaomi is riddled with ads. When I realized this, I was about to return the phone back as I was not forewarned about this dodgy practice. I did not even think that such things could exist. It was said that this way they are trying to keep their price lower. Fortunately, after watching some manuals on YouTube and some non-trivial manipulations with different apps I managed to disable all of them. Remember, Xiaomi replacement word for "ads" is "recommendations".
No locked out features, yet there is some amount of undeletable bloatware, which again fortunately can be disabled and hidden.
5G. Haven't tried yet as I don't have access to 5G.
The battery leaves mixed feelings. Overall, after a couple of weeks of usage, with all software loaded and being used actively the average life time (as calculated by AccuBattery) is the following: screen on - 11.5 hours, screen off - 74 hours, combined usage - 34 hours, which is not bad. If the smartphone is not touched it stays in deep sleep for about 80% of screen off time and sometimes up to 95%. Also, the phone has an ability to power off and then power off by schedule. At the same time the advertised capacity of the battery is 4520mAh, while after a number of charges AccuBattery shows that the actual capacity is about 4400mAh. Not a big difference, yet all new phones I used previously were usually slightly above the designed capacity.
UPDATE: as of 10 months passed AccuBattery gained a lot of information about the battery health and capacity decrease. The forecast is ~7%/year, which is not fine. All Samsung phones I ever had have much better batteries where the capacity decline is about 2-3% year. This means than the capacity drop to the point of what can be considered a technical failure is 3 years.
Stereo speakers on the top and the bottom sides of the phone. Can't praise them for great sound, but I never use them anyway so nothing to complain about. At the same time there is no standard 3.5mm audio jack so you will have to use USB->audio adapter shipped with the phone. This actually turns into a problem when you want to charge the phone and listen to the music or watch a video at the same time.
The fingerprint sensor is on the phone edge. It is fast and precise, no questions. However, it turned out that the concept of having a fingerprint sensor on the edge comparing with a location on a back panel, like in LG G5, is horrible.
Let me explain the difference. With a sensor on the back panel, when you intend to use the phone you pick it up by any hand. Your pointing finger naturally gets on the sensor and unlocks the phone. And what is most important, this grip is completely different from a situation when you want to pick-up the phone from a table, or put it into a pocket. With the sensor on the edge there is a frequent problem with false negatives and false positives.
If you pick up the phone without an intent of actually using it, just because you want to take the phone with you, there is a fair chance that you will accidentally touch the sensor with a part of your finger that is not the fingerprint memory. The phone will vibrate, will think that there are too many false fingerprints scanned, and occasionally will ask you to enter PIN "cause too many failed unlock attempts".
The opposite case is when you put the phone in your pocket and accidentally touch it with your fingertip. The phone gets unlocked and keeps getting commands further from unintended hip touches, even through the fabric. Once I found that such unwanted "activity" caused an SMS messaging program to start and "typed" in some garbage ready to be sent to one of the recipients. Fortunately, the message wasn't sent.
None of this happens with the fingerprint sensor on the back panel.
UPDATE: These false unlocks pose a problem. You put the phone into the pocket, it gets unlocked as it slides into the pocket, and starts living on its own - starting apps, doing various random stuff, playing music, once it made a call to a random person from the contact list.
The phone is not water resistant. It is splash resistant, which means that it will not die immediately if a couple of drops fall on it, but nothing more. So just don't drop it into water and don't leave it under the rain.
The phone is not equipped with wireless charge, yet the standard phone charger charges battery to 100% in less than an hour.
The phone includes a transparent soft protective case. It is pretty convenient and even protects phone edges. However, the camera module is barely protected. An unfortunate landing on the camera module will damage it as the soft protector is just a little bit over the camera, less than 1mm.

well built; glass all 'round and aluminium frame is getting rarer at this price point. Internals are decent, the SD710 runs well with the supplied RAM... it's getting a bit long in the tooth, but still fine unless you're an avid gamer. The camera is perfectly fine, but might disappoint those who foolishly use their phone camera for every occasion. AMOLED display is excellent, very bright and vibrant. Worth grabbing if you can find it new for a couple of hundred bucks or less.

days ago and since that time impossible to restart and doesn’t take the charge too. Being under warranty I didn’t stress too much however after few emails with both mi store Australia and Mi global I am on my own because I haven’t bought the phone in Australia. What does it change ? The phone is still a Xiaomi phone right ? The motherboard is failing and on google you can find many websites reporting this as a common issue but still xiaomi wash their hand and let people like me spending $$$ on faulty phones. This is absolutely disgraceful and I won’t stop the process until solved.

My only complaint being its interface, it is terrible and contains so many ads for thing that have been standard on phones for years. stores and need to order it online. Most of the functions are similar to Redmi Note 9 Pro and Mi 9T thanks to MIUI. However, the performance it almost 80% better than Note 9 Pro. It's lighter with a USB-C audio connector whose adapted is included.
App design poorly implemented – Poorly designed user interface. Basic information like sleep start and end times are unreadable. Basic issues - using a tiny unreadable font and a dull grey text instead of high contrast white. Poor UX design.

around $500. Prior to this phone I owed a phone worth around $1,500. The incremental difference in phones was not $1,000, The Redmi does a great job. I came close to giving it 4 star, but my only hate of this phone is the bloat ware that comes with it and how some of which you cannot remove.

screen is a good size, it's bright enough to read in bright sunlight, and there is a fantastic range of watch faces available. The accuracy of steps & distance is good - within close range of the GPS app I also use. Heart rate correlates well with other measuring devices. The range of activities it can track is excellent, as is the range of built-in apps. Battery life is brilliant, even with all day tracking of various metrics turned on. My only complaint with this model is the accuracy of sleep tracking: despite the improvements to this model, I think sleep tracking is not as good as the Band 7. It consistently records me as sleeping, when I'm awake during the night. However, I have a low heart rate, so perhaps this is a factor.
Overall, if you are after a sports band that offers good tracking at a budget price, I highly recommend this band. I also recommend pairing it with the Notify app, rather than the Mi Fit app - much better display of your data.

family member. Performance was a step backwards, but everything else was a step forward. The AMOLED display is good (a bit dull, but good) and the SD778G does a good job of keeping up.
The camera setup is vintage Poco; read: don't expect much. You'll get alright photos in good light from the primary and wide, but night photography and the macro are a waste of time. And I promise I'm not just being hard on macro cameras... the 2MP unit on this phone is pretty bad. I have upgraded to a phone that happens to have a 5MP macro that doesn't get super-noisy like the Poco, and it's surprisingly useful in tight spots where I work. Xiaomi's efforts macro-wise are pretty poor really, and they would be much better off just making the camera bump smaller.
Build is good. The plastic body takes a beating and means the device isn't too hefty despite its dimensions. There are little features that hardly anyone has, like an IR blaster... which sounds gimmicky and for 'boomers' but it's actually not bad to have the option of, even if with some devices 'on' or 'off' are the only reliable commands in Xiaomi's app. Still a nice option to have.
All in all it's good value, now that the X6 Pro is out you should be able to grab one cheap.

phone which I purchased brand new, I am the administrator! Eventually I solved the problem by doing a factory reset. I'm really ticked off at having my time wasted by a seemingly needless access issue. Technology is supposed to make our lives easier and I don't see the need for pointless, time wasting obstacles such as this. Apart from that, the battery life is very good, it has a good camera it's a good phone, and everything else works.
Update July 2024. I'm downgrading this review because I've been to two foreign countries and this phone does not allow internet data use with the foreign SIM card. (The phone does work with WiFi).Why is there a need to block internet data use in foreign countries? This is the second time I've had my time wasted with needless software issues on this phone and I never encountered that with previous brands. I'm extremely annoyed about this because it has wasted a lot of time and money. I don't see the need for usage barriers such as this. Will never purchase a Xiaomi again, I'll go back to my old android brand because I just don't have time for silly functionality issues.

especially if you love taking selfies. Secondly it used to charge on tubo mode for only 1 week, then it started having problems with the turbo charging mode. So now it only has fast charge. Overall I'm happy with all the other functions and programs, irs pretty smooth and fast in usage wise, no glitches! I would have only expected more change in the overall theme of the homescreen.
I mean my Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro worked for 4 and half years. Then it does not work anymore. Pretty normal life span for a mobile phone.
