Bought two years ago (roughly early 2024). Slow to buffer and load. Full of small bugs that vary from time to time, eg. no sound; program guide won't load; etc. Recommend paying a few extra dollars for something more reliable.

customer service centre, long waits, promises and no action.
Its cheap for a reason, it is rubbish. Don't be fooled by the 3 year warranty, the replacement TV offered was a refurbished model with only 1 year of warranty. TCL is a joke.

for a Google TV. It was fast and responsive and a good buy for an oled 4K Google TV... Weeks later I purchased another 40 inch TCL HD TV (40 S5K) and was bitterly disappointed with the performance. The remote was very slow to respond. Installing additional apps like Kayo was slow and never worked properly. I got jitters and stutters in most of the apps like ABC iView, 7plus etc. Voice commands took up to 30 seconds to respond.... I started contacting TCL with these problems. They went through the usual "try this" and "try that".... resetting the TV back to factory and a whole heap of other tests to try and get the TV to at least respond in a timely manner. I started searching the internet for solutions and found out that others had similar problems with this model. Turns out that this TV under performs because there is only 1Gb of memory and only 8Gb internal storage - certainly not enough to run the Goggle TV software and additional apps. After many emails, TCL gave me a return authority and I returned the TV back to the retail shop for a full refund. TCL is generally a good brand but this particular model is a lemon. Went out and bought a Hisense 43inch 4K TV for $94 more.... with a 90 day satisfaction guarantee return.... My suggestion is when you're in the market for a new TV ask about the memory and internal storage size.... eg the new Hisense is 2Gb Memory and 16Gb Internal storage - makes all the difference!

Extremely disappointed and now of pocket a lot more money purchased a better brand – Purchased Television July 2021. Was used as a second Television in bedroom (so not on all the time). Television also hasn't been used for 16 months… Read more
as been travelling. Television was also unplugged so no power or aerial feed going into it. So in fact the television has been used for about 22 months in a 3 year and 4 month period. Returned home and had vertical and horizontal lines across the screen. Further burnt hand on a hot spot on the edge of television. Be very careful as this could be a fire hazard. TCL would not accept responsibility and unfortunately just out of warranty so any repairs be at my expense. Be warned this product is of poor quality and minimal usage it was faulty. Will never ever buy TCL products again. Has been reported to ACCC.

Don’t bother, move on to a different model – My parents started with this TV for the kitchen but soon gave up on it due to the viewing angle - sit just to the side and you won’t see much at all.… Read more
I inherited it for my bedroom, but find that the interface is so laggy it is almost unusable, the sound is tinny, and the remote only sporadically works. I’d be better off watching streaming services on my phone.
