which prompted me to buy another, but what I thought was going to be better quality, yet six oranges later it was dead! Yes, you read that right: I didn't even untie the cable tie because I thought to myself, 'oh here we go, a rebranded product and probably the same sad design' but this actually it turned out worse for more money, at least I had my other one for a year! I don't know why they persist with this design, I guess some people got lucky like my last one. In saying that, you could say I am a veteran using this 'press juicer' design so I know I certainly was not pressing too hard to actuate the press, but I assume it has sheered the gears and now the pieces have fallen between the pressure switch contacts and it will seldom even powers-on...but that is futile with damaged gears anyway if it did spin.

Kambrook, why is it so hard to make a juice that has a simple on-off toggle switch??? It is not as if this is a circular saw! It spins at probably 100RPM and there are no sharp extremities/spinning blades; you can also incorporate a micro-safety switch that detects the jug is fitted if you a really concerned about this juice going rogue; you guys have made descent stuff for years, yet this one slipped through the cracks.
