Grohe Kitchen & Bathroom Hardware
Stylish and excellent quality – Like all Grohe products I've previously bought, I find this tap very stylish and pleasant to use. The handle moves smoothly and feels good in the… Read more
hand. I had no difficulty installing the tap myself - needs only basic plumbing knowledge (such as how to turn off mains water and how to use plumbers' nylon thread tape to make a waterproof connection). The pictorial instructions were easy to follow. I've been using the tap for 5 months now and am still very happy with it. The only 'disadvantage' is that, since the handle is flat, it tends to collect stains from soap scum etc but it takes only a second or two to wipe clean.
Love the look and feel – I don't have the basin model as shown. I have the Eurosmart Cosmopolitan kitchen gooseneck mixer in my kitchen (still not on the Australian market… Read more
but Argent Australia is working at it) and I love the look and feel of the grohe. The minimalist side lever is excellent as it doesn't get grubby as easily and the mixer is a little taller when compared to the eurosmart kitchen gooseneck mixer. Didn't understand why hubby wanted it last time, but I do now! So much so that our next house is going to be entirely out of grohe (mainly because hubby doesn't want to keep changing the mixers every year!). Well aerated. Feels solid. Love it!

time. I agree: I am very happy with my kitchen designed for a tight space. I am very happy with the services of most of your staff and tradespeople. I particularly appreciate those trades persons who worked diligently to ensure my kitchen was finished by Christmas Eve. I also appreciate after service if and when required. It is standing up to wear and tear very well. I am happy to recommend your firm to other would be clients
Looks great but is rubbish after 12 months – We had our first of these taps replaced about 14 months ago because it started making noise and switching to spray by itself. The replacement is… Read more
starting to exhibit the same symptoms. No response from Grohe even though it's still in warranty. Wouldn't recommend this brand at all.

though there are over 30 stores in SA , do not have a replacement cartridge anywhere in SA, we are unable to use our wash basin for the last 8 days and may take another week to fix it. Not happy
Grohe Essence: leaks and chrome plating peeling - forget about 15y advertised warranty - do not buy! – Sneaky salesman told us to pay premium price and always buy Grohe tapware as it was the best because came with 15y warranty. So we renovated 3… Read more
bathrooms in our house and exclusively used Grohe tapware.
What a mistake!
If you are lucky and managed to pass first 5y of warranty you would realize:
1. Grohe tapware uses cartridges which leak after 3-5y of service and because advertised Grohe 15y warranty includes labor just for first 5y they would just send you a replacement cartridge (good luck making this claim and getting the right one when the incident is handled through lixil australia with single person behind the zendesk support system). What you would find that because of Grohe design the leaking cartridge creates a mineral build-up so it is almost impossible to remove the handle to replace the cartridge: 2 out of 3 plumbers that we called told us that applying too much force would cause the damage and recommended replacing the whole tap instead of trying to remove stuck handle to replace the cartridge with new one posted by Grohe.
2. Grohe chrome plating is not robust enough and after 7-8y of service the chrome layer would start bubbling and peeling off. And in this case Grohe service (through Lixil Australia) would tell you that:
a. It is a chemical reaction caused by your use of hand soap on precious grohe taps b. That you used too much soap or allowed the soap to touch the handle without immediate wiping it
We have 30y old stainless steel taps still shining in the house regardless of any use of detergents or dishwasher liquid or washing machine powder staying on the surface (in the kitchen and laundry areas) but just 7y old Grohe taps in the main sparkling clean bathroom has the chrome layer bubbling and peeling and simply need to be thrown away because Grohe/Lixil/Reece refused to provide warranty claiming that it must be chemical reaction of the surface with hand soap which is not covered by Grohe 15y warranty.
So 15y advertised warranty on Grohe is a myth, do yourself a favour and dont buy Grohe tapware it has mediocre quality (not beyond first 3-5y) and you can get better taps for 1/3 of the price at Bunnings or even Ikea.
