Cub Cadet Z-Force SX 48 Zero Turn
This thing is a beast!! – After much research for a versatile zero turn that could handle hills safely, we decided on the cub cadet Z Force SX48 zero turn . And it’s an… Read more
absolute beast…. The Kawasaki engine is so powerful it drives through higher grass than expected with no power drop off. We are on a steepish hilly area of an acre that is very tricky but due to the design this eats it up!! The front wheels turn with the zero turn back wheels via a steering wheel not levers. This makes steering far more accurate and safe and the front wheels grip the surface allowing for safer incline mowing. Normal lever steering on zero turns has like shopping trolley wheels that don’t do much…. The steering on the Z force grip far better, allowing a safer ride. Seat is so comfortable also with side arms to rest on. Starts easier first time. This Z Force has dual tanks…. Sooo good, switch over is easy and this feature almost sells it alone. Deck is fabricated and includes a hose connector for cleaning. If you are looking for a tough tough zero turn that can climb inclines then this is it. Well done Cub Cadet just brilliant.

This mower is well below reasonable expectations and in my opinion, not fit for sale. Two dealerships have tried to get this thing running in a… Read more
straight line and both have failed. The manufacturer's Australian importer had a disgraceful attitude and refused to get the thing running properly and insisted on refunding me. I insisted they do the right thing and replace it or get it running. The attitude and conduct of the original dealer was disgraceful and the lack of ability of the second dealer that looked at, is what annoys me more than the mower shaped object. The deck vibrates and rattles like you wouldn't believe. When you disengage the PTO it shudders violently. The deck sounds like a can full of bolts having the springs shaken out of it. The switch consoles rattles massively. I've had it just over a year and it is becoming unusable. It's an abomination and I have zero confidence and do not even know where I should take it. You can bet your life there will be no warranty. I was told the second dealer understood it was warranty by the importer, but I ended up with a nearly $500 bill - for what? Knowing what I already know and receiving the same junk back? Oil and filter? I'd avoid this mower like the plague. It is not fit for purpose and the dealers can not adjust the machine to save themselves. Their conduct is from dishonest to abusive and the importer will not stand behind the product and replace or fix it. I'd rather own a Holden Astra. I'd be happy to make a public video of these genii trying to get this thing running and put it here, if they are up to the challenge. The dealer, the importer and I, all standing there and facing the facts together. Please don't expect anyone to help you when your mower doesn't run and you insist they do. I look forward to hearing from Cub Cadet so we can make that public video review together.

meaning the front wheels do not spin around like castors , they are locked at all times to the steering
Blades and parts are reasonably priced. which is unusual for a U.S brand.
Local support is very good, so good i bought the mower locally and buy replacement parts at better than E-bay prices (Ipswich Central mowers Qld) . And the local dealer is knowlegable too.
The only issue i had was a loose stick flicked the drive belt off so i had to tow it from the paddock to my workshop with the ute to assess and it and was super easy to reinstall but you do need some tools not with you in the paddock of course.
Power is good and the fabricated deck has had a workout from hitting fenceposts and it is still good as new. Just adjust the deck tilt angle and level every now and again when you hit something really hard
I think cub cadet (who have an aus office) have nailed the mix here with capability, longevity and value for money for the Australian market (the engine is chinese made to keep costs down BUT WILL LIKELY OUTLIVE ME)

support told me to get a new deck, 1 months wait and a 300km round trip only to find it did not fit. Multiply flat tyres wheel rusted on so the tyre must be repaired on the mower. 50cent of greeze would have prevented this. A waste of time never again any MDT products. they are made to fail.

it worked the ride is much rougher than my husqvarna. The cadet motor is noisier and runs rough. Bought it for the steering wheel combined with zero turn, so far a very bad decision.
