Six support calls in three days. Over five hours wasted. My iPad Pro 12.9 (5th gen) is getting hot enough near the camera to burn your fingers—this… Read more
is a safety issue, not a tutorial.
The final advice was ‘go to Highpoint.’ I queued, explained the burn risk, and instead of ‘please stop using it; we’ll assess it now,’ I was told to wait 4–5 hours or come back later. Asked for a manager—got the same script. It's just appalling to see these people calling their colleagues to act like their managers... No triage, no escalation, no basic duty of care. People like Eva and Ebhar simply must be removed from staff, how come a business can employ this kind of individuals I don't understand. Like there are even no way to rate these hoons. At this day and age you would expect at least average people with average intelligence and sympathy to help with customers. Simply business killing individuals are getting paid for frustrating existing customer base...
I left with a dangerously hot device and zero help. Rude, dismissive service and a complete waste of time. I’ll be seeking a remedy under Australian Consumer Law because ‘acceptable quality’ includes safety. Until this store fixes its triage and customer care, I won’t spend another dollar here—and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else does either.

hard with fingers to register taps, multiple very hard taps necessary to register any tap at all most of the time. The OS (iPadOS) is a total mess, and the familiar apps I use most have been butchered. Now trying to find alternative apps outside Apple for required functionality. Predictive text feature is now utterly appalling and causes me to scream at my device many times every day. I'm using iPad less and less and regard it with contempt. Most of what I used to use the iPad for I now find myself doing on other devices, usually my old iPhone XR, which is also suffering with the severe degradation to the operating system. A disappointing comedown on the excellent iPad Pro 10.5 (2017) which was a great tablet. Ten years ago I was a fan of My disappointment extends to all my Apple products (2 iPhones, 2 iPad Pros), and this disaffection has grown dramatically over the past five years because of successive OS upgrades making functionality and productivity progressively worse each time. The product range is now so bad I am preparing to leave the Apple ecosystem altogether, and once I do, I won't be returning.

previous iPad was smaller and had started getting dark lines down both sides. It still works OK, and I now use it as a back-up. Things I like about it, the bigger screen, a much better camera and it was so easy to set up. Interestingly, the cost for a bigger iPad five years later, the cost was identical at $629.00. This was helped by $90 of in-store credits I had with The Good Guys.
Things I don't like about it, nothing, it meets all of my expectations.

A great device.....once it's up and running. If this is going to be your first ipad, you'll be pleased overall - the screen is absolutely gorgeous… Read more
and clear, performance across most apps is fast and responsive. There's enough oomph under the hood of this thing to dabble is some music and video creation, and even a little bit of light 3d design. No complaints in the day to day use of this thing.
So why 3 stars? Because the initial set up process is atrocious, especially if moving from an old ipad to a newer model. At first, it looks like it'll be straightforward enough - options are clear and one of the first choices is to migrate from an old ipad. Great! Except it doesn't work. The connection process seems simple but it won't hold connection, and it needs to maintain this for over an hour to transfer. We attempted this 7 times, and it would never maintain connection - stopping at 40%, 57%, 17% etc. And you would think that if the connection dropped out you could just pick up where you left off, right? Hahaha, no, this is an APPLE product so it doesn't play that way. It needs to go through a complete lengthy re-initialisation process before each attempt.
We tried multiple suggested troubleshooting options from folks online, which included moving away from the house to rule out signal interference, as well as placing the ipads on top of each other - no good.
So surely we could just use a cable and do it directly, yeah? Hahaha, no, this is an APPLE product and that means the transfer process couldn't possibly fail so there's no other options available.
In the end, we had to just set up the new ipad from scratch and then go through the process of transferring all of the (many many) files and projects one by one, and setting up all the apps and accounts again. And you'd think a manual file transfer process would be straightforward too? Hahaha, no, this is an APPLE product so transferring manually is a super painful process because of Apples insistence on using their woeful cloud service when there's just no need.
Meanwhile - the migration process from my ancient Samsung S20 to an S25 was straightforward and flawless - it just WORKED.
Again - great device once it's all up and running but please be prepared for a day of frustration if attempting to migrate.
