They were excellent, efficient, friendly, managed the awkward and extremely narrow Richmond street incredibly well no stress shown at all, incredible value for money, covered furniture to ensure protection, nothing damaged at all, couldn’t have been happier. Planning on using them again because I had such a good experience and it’s time to move… Read more
again, so gave them a Google and saw the low score here (happy customers generally less inclined to review than a grumpy one) and wanted to add my positive feedback!
Move was early 2020, Richmond to East Keilor. 1 persons worth of stuff from a share house (some big furniture but not everything). 2 men and 4.5t truck.

would give 0/10 if possible - overpriced, go slow, no care, damaging, disrespectful, scammers, no support – Worst removalists ever and complete lack of care for after service complaints - I raised a huge list of issues and they offered us a $50 voucher to share with family. Damaged walls and furniture (brand new tables and chairs and mattresses), refused to take half our stuff. They didn't use the blankets to protect our furniture in the truck and… Read more
didn't use them before sliding our mattresses over the filthy truck floor. Called 2 times midway throughout service trying to add $60 each time to fee and one time threatened to dump our furniture on the sidewalk and leave if we didn't agree to accepting a charge. Quoted 4 hours took 7.5 (cost us $1000) and would have take more than 10 if I didn't help them for the last 4. Disrespectful, lazy, went slow on purpose, lacking care, didn't use sack trucks and carried 1 box at a time, complained the whole time and kept asking are we finished yet, when there was so much left to do, then had the nerve to ask for a tip. We ended up telling them to finish and we continued moving for 2 days after by ourselves - DO NOT USE EVER!!!!!!!!!
Most horrible movers ever – Didn't arrive on time. It took them 7h to finish one-bedroom apartment. I called the office several times but nothing at all. It was the most terrible experience ever. Rude and irresponsible
Good experience! – Only moved a dining table + chairs but they were on time, called 30 min prior to pick up and did a speedy job! I Will be using this service again
CBD Movers Melbourne are a scam – I had booked to move our office from level 3 to level 1 in the same building. 1st crew arrived only to argue that the furniture was too big for their truck??? We explained at least 5 times that we are staying in the same building. They then said that they would just go downstairs and did not return. CBD Movers Melbourne could locate them. After 2… Read more
hours they then sent another crew. They rang saying that they could not find parking in the CBD. I had explained to them that we were in the CBD and had no parking when i booked. They then wanted to charge me for any fines that they got and also for the parking. I agreed to the parking and then they did not want to accept just the parking fee and so they left. They company argued with me stating that i was supposed to organise parking when the whole building doesn't have parking. They are scammers as they charge a non refundable $25 upon booking, that must be the only way that these scammers make money
Would give no stars if possible – Up there with the worst service that I have ever experienced from a business ever!. I was told to expect the removalists to come between 12 and 3 and that I would be phoned a half hour before their arrival. At 2:45, when I had not heard from them, I rang to find out what was happening. After being on hold for some time, I was told that a worker… Read more
was sick and so they wouldn't be able to come. They also said that there were no other available workers that day. I asked, then why did you not ring to tell me and why am I chasing you up to find that out. I was then given some 'covid 19' excuse but no covid 19 reasoning can explain not picking up the phone. As half my day had been lost - as if moving house isn't stressful enough. I asked that if I continue with their business for the following day that I be compensated. I was assured that I would. When it came to payment however they refused to discount the original quote and said that I too had to take responsibility for what had happened! Incredible. On top of that, the removalists who did a fine job, told me that they had wanted to work the day before but were told that there wasn't any work for them.
Absolutely avoid - also under company name CBD movers – I (female, 24) had the same experience as the reviews below. Moved apartments 1 block away in September 2019. The movers were 2 hours late, was what appeared to be a father and son who were completely unmotivated to do anything. When I came to greet them after they called to say they had arrived one was smoking a cigarette instead of getting the… Read more
van ready for the move. I did half of the work, no sense of urgency although they knew that I could only use the lifts in the building from 12-2pm and they arrived at 2pm. The building managers were pushing me to move faster and the movers couldn't care less. At the end of the service they gave me a $25 voucher off their next services then asked if they could video me for their website review, which I imagine was to pressure me into saying they did a good job on video so I had no case for complaint. I declined, and submitted a complaint which was never responded to. CBD movers/365 movers charged me $185 for a useless service. I could have done a faster job walking my stuff over to the other building than using theirs.
For an example of the slowness, When dismantling my bed, instead of taking apart the essentials to get it out of the apartment, the movers unscrewed every single nut and bolt completely unnecessarily, only creating more easy work for themselves. I asked them whether they made sure they picked up all of the screws before leaving my building, the younger son said yes and when we got to my other apartment they had left one of the essential screws behind and I ended up having to run over myself while they charged me for it. They only ended up moving my bed and couch in the 2 hours and I had to move everything myself afterwards anyway.
Only hire if you want your time wasted. You'll end up paying more than other movers despite cheap hourly rates because they will purposely take 20x longer to do anything.
This is a fraud business – Mine was an horrible 3 bedrooms move at 900mt away. Despite the short distance, it was anything but easy. I booked them the day before and I was told the price of 85ph for 2 professional removals and a truck. I was assured that the truck was clean and equipped with all the blankets and protections for the furnitures. In addition, the charge would… Read more
have started when they start loading the truck. Also I had to pay 25aud in advance as deposit via phone (no problem with that, I said, I need the job done on time and very well). The morning after 2 young Indian students arrived, they started working with the company a couple of months before (they said). They already arrived tired and without any motivation. It took for me 5 minutes to brief them about what I needed to move and give them any precautionary advice about building rules (especially about the common areas in the building) and what they were going to carry. I want to specify that I helped them loading the truck all the time and I had to do 50% of the job by myself. At the beginning, they spent 20 minutes just to park properly the truck in front of the building, I couldn't believe it! After the first trip on the lift, I didn't see them back for 45 minutes. I had to go downstairs and check what was going on. I saw them arguing with the caretaker even though they were breaking the building rules blocking the main entrance with the furnitures. Anyway, next I decided to go downstairs with them for the second trip and be sure no further issues were given to the neighbours. This time I had to assist at something really unprofessional: the two guys where arguing all the time about how to store the furnitures on the van with no any reason. It too 20 extra minutes for them because they wanted to unload part of the furnitures and load them again. They had been extremely ineffective and not organised. On the other hand, they spent the all day arguing and moving the stuff extremely slowly. I had to remind them what to do all the time. I couldn't leave them alone, otherwise they didn't do their job. Also, I had few boxes in the car park and told them to load those boxes before we left. Before we left I asked them if all the boxes had been loaded. Their answer was positive. So, I went and checked in the car space and all the boxes were still there. I had to do it by myself to have the job done properly and fast. The second part of the moving wasn't anything but smooth. They unloaded the truck very slowly and this time too some issues had been given to the residents. This is the list of the main damages done on my belongings during the loading and unloading processes: - The fridge arrived without its feet, it doesn't firmly stands upright anymore (I found them broken in their truck!) - brand new appliances with scratches (fridge, microwave, laundry machine and dryer) - One mattress had been damaged (I found a hole on one side of it) - Mattress bases plenty of stains and dust (I had to wash all the covers) - the sofa was dirty and plenty of exterior scratches - many glasses and some broken - damages on the TV When the truck was empty they told me that the final charge was of 5 hours (instead of the 4.5 hours as it really was) because the time started when they arrived downstairs in front of the building, also they rounded 15 minutes more extra. I had only cash but they didn't have any change. So, I called the company and they told me to pay more and that they would have refund the change (75$) on the card I used to pay the deposit. Otherwise they couldn't release the 25 aud deposit if I didn't pay the 25 aud odd. (so, why should I give 25$ to get back 25 aud? doesn't it sound strange?) There was something suspicious in what they were saying (the 2 guys and the girl at the phone) and I said that I would have transfer the money on their bank account.
After other 30 minutes at the phone, at the end, the girl rudely said that if I wouldn't pay the odd (25$ in my case), they would have kept my deposit. None a word had been spent about my invoice or receipt fo what I paid (potentially a tax fraud operation).
What a great way to treat a customer who paid 450$ for a so poor service!
Could not complete removal – Booked a job to move a refrigerator to storage, less than 1km away. They were told this would mean removing the doors of the refrigerator. We were told no problem, they would bring basic tools. They arrived with no tools, did nothing productive for two hours then said if we paid them someone else would come and remove the doors. Their manager… Read more
Karan promised someone would come, but this was just a lie to get them out of the apartment and get our money.
No-one came.
When I came home from work, I was able to remove the doors with a screwdriver and a wrench in 5 minutes.
On a phone call which took an hour as I got transferred many times repeating the same thing over and over again, they also agreed that the original removalists should have had tools but they still wanted to charge for someone to come and do the job again.
They returned one email to state they will now not complete the job without being paid more claiming it was in terms and conditions not to remove the doors. The terms and conditions were not mentioned when they accepted the booking and they were happy to take the job. We will be raising with ACCC and claiming a fraudulent transaction to our bank.
Now ignoring all calls and emails - leaving us no option but to inform the public of their behaviour. Very unprofessional, would never consider them for anything ever again.
Pathetic. Avoid at all costs – I had 365 movers booked for Saturday morning which I had booked for over 3 weeks. The move was to commence at 9am. At 9.30am I rang the company for an update. After being on hold for 5 minutes, I was told that the job was not booked for 9am - 12pm, but estimated to start somewhere around this time. I was then given some confidence that they would… Read more
arrive by 11am.
At 11am, there was still no truck. I called back to be assured that they would arrive around 11.30am - 12pm. In the meantime I received a text from CBD movers to advise that delays were being experienced and that I was expected to be cooperative whilst I waitied.
12pm, still nothing. I called back for an update and was assured again that the truck was coming and just finishing up a job in a neighbouring suburb - 5km away. I was guranteed at this point that they would be no longer than 35 - 45 minutes.
1pm. STILL nothing. I called back and was told that the closest truck was 2 HOURS away. 2 HOURS!
In my dissapointment, I called another removalist company to try for a same day move as I just knew that there was something fishy going on. I picked up the phone and called another moving company and would you beleive it, but the same lady taking my calls all moring answered the phone.
Im not sure what sort of scam these guys are running but avoid at all costs. I ended up hiring a trailer and moving myself.
Moving is stressful enough, you dont need or want 365 involved in your day. I had a small move, only 1km away but it was one of the most stressful days ive had.
Worst movers – I booked 2 men and a truck through this company to collect my furniture from a storage shed site and bring to my home. Time was to begin at 9.00am and I was quoted $85 per hour. My first question when an Indian lady answered my call, was.."Is this a Sunshine Coast based company?". She lied and said "Yes Maam". Had I known that it actually was a… Read more
company called CBD MOVERS from NSW, I would not have continued with booking. Men were non communicative and rude. Their English was so limited that they did not once listen to what I was asking them to do. This was not a big move and still 2hrs later they had not emptied my 3 x 3 shed. After watching them carelessly loading my possessions, I went on up to where furniture was to be delivered. I asked men to call me as soon as they arrived but they ignored this. Un known to me they were sitting in their truck by the road with their feet up until I realised some time later that they were actually here. They tried to get cash from me and tried to overcharge me also. One used my toilet and the other man wanted to use my phone. Strange behaviour. When midday arrived they just dumped last item out back of their truck and left. I called the office and paid over the phone. I now regret paying for such disgraceful and egregious behaviour from two men who should be professionals. I never received any emails from them or receipt for my payment either. I was only ever given confirmation text messages on my phone regarding my booking an no other documentation. I called to make my complaint first and was given a fake email address. I called again and got another email address to which I sent my complaint about overcharge, no receipt and horrific experience with their movers. I received a reply from "[name removed]" and have heard nothing further.
The worse worse worse services I have ever Dealt with in my life. Do not do not use them – Simple collection of bed and base. They cannot even do that. do not use them. Ever. Constantly on hold. They told me pick up at 2, then 3, 4, and now 5pm still no show.
Terrible service – Shocking service. Didnt arrive on when booked. 1hr 45min late. Overcharged. Forgot to bring eftpos machine. Drivers didn't speak English. Won't be dealing with this company again would not recommended
