Hopeless insurance company ever! – Accident at the end of Nov 2024, car was told to repairer, assassessment was submitted by the repairer on 09/12, no response from AAMI. Rang AAMI on 19/12, they claimed they never received it, but they towed my car to another repairer. On 09/01, rang them again, they said they are investigating coz they could not find my car. On 12/01, the new… Read more

Been on the phone for 48 mins, just waiting for them to work out $15 worth of insurance upgrade from $10,000,000 to $20,000,000. Not worth the time, but I need this to do the market. Would have been easier, quicker and probably with the time wasted, cheaper to start a new policy with a different company. I'm thinking i will do that cause i'm still on hold. Show details

Please note I have never ever claimed, so i cannot comment on that. I just want to say thank you that AAMI eventually have come up with "Business At Home Insurance". I have been looking for such insurance cover for years. I'm running a business from home and I want just one combined policy that can cover both buildings, home contents, business stocks and business contents that include pricey plant & machinery. Show details

Nightmare insurance – Don’t use Aami No warnings just an email saying that our policy has been canceled Small plumbing business that occasionally installs fire hoses and they just canceled instantly! But still took excess money from our account which legally they shouldn’t have done! The person on the phone didn’t even know what she was talking about because she kept… Read more

putting me on hold! Absolutely disgusting and now I have to change all of our other insurance policies because obviously they aren’t good value! SO MUCH FOR “LUCKY YOUR WITH AAMI “!

Lucky You're NOT With AAMI! – The manager canceled my public liability only business insurance I had for 6 years, because I work in a flood prone area. After keeping me waiting on the line for 40 minutes. Show details

Suddenly Cancelled after years of cover – As a small Electrical business we understood the importance of taking out insurance. We had been covered by AAMI insurance for a few years and our policy was specifically listed as “Electrician”. I spoke to one of their representatives regarding our policy and was asked a serious of questions regarding what type of work we did, such as do you… Read more

work on elevators or escalators etc. He then asked if we do smoke alarms which I said yes, most Electrical contractors do this kind of work, every new home has to have them installed which are mains hardwired and legally needs to be completed by an electrician. Suddenly he had to speak with someone within their department and came back to say sorry we don’t cover that and we are canceling your policy in 2 weeks unless you cancel it sooner. Unbelievably this came out of nowhere and was not at all part of the reason for calling them. There is nothing within the PDS to mention the No cover for Smoke Alarms. He had nothing to quote besides we have just decided that we can no longer cover you.

They can’t offer Electrical business correct insurance however they are happy to take your premium. Once you are speaking to them and mention smoke alarms you’ll either be rejected or cancelled like us. Don’t risk it go get insurance elsewhere they don’t cover smoke alarm work but don’t mention it anywhere. What else don’t they cover and not tell you?

AAMI business cover don't cover apple for apples – I had a specified amount on my laptop which was the price I paid for it. They found something similar but not the same. Apple agrees this to be true and the right replacement value is $2.999 not $2.397 They told me in the beginning of the policy that I am covered for the specified amount, so it should be $2999 and not up to that amount. Show details

Was great until I wanted to insure my work gear – AAMI were the cheapest around for my business insurance until I wanted to also insure my portable work gear, just recontracted with CGU and have saved $368 with identical cover. Their customer service is great but the pricing could be a bit more competitive. Show details

Terrible – My policy turned out to be a nightmare because they did not cover me/my business properly. There was clearly a huge misunderstanding and at no point we're they prepared to fix their mistakes or help me in any way even though it was no fault of my own. Not to mention they are stupidly overpriced compared to other insurers. Would never recommend, my experience was awful.  Show details

robbery – no matter how much you pay monthly, when you try to claim something they will charge you on top of whathever you spent fixing the problem an "excess" $500 just to see if they will refund you some money. customer services disgusting, they transfered my call 7 times without giving me any response. Show details

Terrible – I took out a new business (market stall) policy with AAMI mid October 2019. I have also used them for many years previously and never had a claim, although I once tried when I had stock stolen (on a full business insurance policy, not "market stall") but was told I wasn't covered. When COVID hit, all my events/markets were obviously cancelled. I… Read more

received no notification from them at all. Today, I was contacted by an employee trying to get me to renew my policy. When I explained I was only able to use 4.5 months of my last policy and asked if I could get a free extension, he quickly got off the phone! I have just called the 132244 number, to see if I could get a free 3 month extension, in light of the covid cancellations... only to be told an email was sent in April (never received) stating I could suspend it, and as my policy expired TODAY that was no longer an option! Terrible customer service!! I asked for paper communication, not email...

Lost Business Laptop - Super Easy Claim – I lost my laptop while overseas for business, and I was very concerned of how to claim. I am a very small business and this tool is essential to my work. I called the business claim service and the lady was amazing, super helpful, I was a little stressed to say the least, she calmly said, please don't worry, we will get this worked out. She… Read more

arranged the call to the place I bought my laptop to get a price for a replacement of a similar model, the money was in my business account with 5 business days.

Thank you to the claim staff in this case, they were easy to deal with and made a stressful time a lot less stressful.

AAMI Road assist - WE DON'T CARE – AAMI Customer for over 4 years, no claims, no calls, no nothing. Last week I was driving on the M80 in Melbourne and had a flat. Got out of the car and looked at the wheel and surprisingly enough something went through the tyre and wheel rim, so there was nothing I could do. Called AAMI to get road assist and they told me "We don't do M80, sorry".… Read more

I thought that the person didn't know what he was taking about and called again and talked with another operator. Same outcome. They left us on the M80 with no alternatives. As it was 6:30 PM it was a bit of a hassle to find someone, from the emergency lane of the M80 to come and get us from there. My life and my wife's were in danger and we are considering suing them. Try to find a proper insurance company, AAMI let's you down when you need them most. Already cancelled my insurance and moved to another company. A waist of money and totally unreliable.

cheaper but prone to Errors in processing – They didn't cover my business for a Whole Year despite having the premium prepaid and sitting in their bank account for over a year!! I only found out the following year when I didn't receive my new invoice and rang them to question it. They conveniently blamed it on a system issue. In other words, I paid for something I didn't receive!!!!! … Read more

They then proceeeded to renew with a discount but the renewal cost (with the discount) was more than what I could renew for as a new customer. When they rang back, they still did not understand what I had told them (and I'm a professional who is very easy to talk to - that's my Job!). Unprofessional staff and questionable quotes given - however they are within the reasonable $$ range if you are on a budget (I guess you get what you pay for).

Very surprisingly easy and helpful – You know how you call your insurer and try to find the right selection and eventually get transferred between a bunch of departments and spend hours trying to get simple things done? Not with aami. I'm really surprised how easy it is to deal with aami. Wether it was making a claim or changing my address it's been a breeze to deal with them. Very happy with every aspect of aami business insurance  Show details

Slow claims processing and poor communication – We made a claim due to theft of work tools that needed to be replaced ASAP as we were unable to complete jobs otherwise. communication so another email and phone call to follow up. The 4th follow up we finally managed to sort out the claim and get it settled on the phone. The guy was lovely just wish it hadn’t been held up nearly 3 weeks and not having an ounce of communication before that despite doing everything as asked. Businesses need fast claim

Turn around in these instances.

Willing to help small businesses – Ammi has been covering me for years with public liability insurance for my small business. I had made an error and they were very helpful correcting my situation. A rare commodity for big business and insurance company to show they care.  Show details
