on a Saturday and he fixed it very quickly. However, he also tried to upsell me into a switchboard upgrade as he believed that work done by previous contractors was not "up to Australian Standards". I agreed to a quote for that job too. Now when I received the bill for the hot water heater it was over $520, $231 of which was itemised for the element itself. When I saw this exact part is available elsewhere for about $30 I realised I had been ripped off badly. Next the quote for the switchboard upgrade arrived and it was over 4 grand!! Enquiries with other contractors indicate that this is double what the job should cost. Be careful out there guys, some people want to retire from the proceeds of a half days' work!
