Poor quality, would not buy again nor recommend – Bought a complete kit less than a year ago. Had nothing but trouble with chucks in 3 different drill. Batteries randomly fall out but can also be nearly impossible to remove from certain tools. Overheats way too easily. On top of that there's a bunch of stupid design flaws and little issues.

Don’t bother buying , go for Milwaukee or anything else – Bought a complete range over a period of two years , all 5 batteries break themselves within three years , bought 4 eBay specials , they did the same in 6 months and earlier , drill trigger played up , charger died , grinder killed two batteries, most under hard work just stopped until battery decided it was ok to work again after a minute or two . Anyways, 'thought I'd pitch in for this 18V range...for once.. I have 8 or 9 batteries ranging from 4A to 6A. never had an issue except for 1. True, very expensive (i think) but none have failed after 3years. I have grinders, drills, saws,sanders etc.. I think most of of their range except a vacuum or light. My work is mainly outdoors 40+ temperature, floods and rain. Steel framing, welding, carpentry, plumbing,, Love doing it as long as it doesn't take months. To old for that. The 1 time I had a problem, Bunnings returned a free upgrade from 4A to 5A within 3 days. btw When AEG registered tools fail they apparently have a longer warranty. I've never needed one tbo. The velcro on the sanders is still holding on contrary to makita's and Bosch's. The bearing on the router got crunchy after being left in the rain. Replaced those with a from the CBC shelf for about $11. Repaired it in one hour, pretty straighforward job on site. The festo didn't make it though...talking about expensive... The drills are both able to do hammering jobs. 'Should leave that to proper sds drills. But both did a great job drilling 1000's of 6 & 8mm holes and steel rivetting in turns. Both batteries and tools still work great. But , cheez...those drills make noise...., high pitched like at the dentist. Horrible, but it gets the work done. fast and proper. Have I mentioned noisy(extra: found out later that should have used the impact thingy for rivetting). What I do like to get of my chest : why does those ridiculously huge cases for? did they have a deal with samsonite? or the rubbish one that came with the router..really? So, concluding: from all my brands they are way better than the reviews talk about. Medium expensive but ever replaced a festo found back in the rain? Extra: Half a year later I bought a fusion battery operated saw machine and a reciprocating one. Again very heavy and both cut flawlessly. The dust exit of the saw machine blocks easily when no suction is used resulting in a cloud of sawdust, in your face.

Not bad tools at a price i could afford. But batteries are a joke – Used mine for light work charged batteries consistently and they still died. Customer service dont care, based in ozzie. Wont keep wasting my money on this junk. Show details

I bought AEG tool set about 2 years ago as I had always used Makita but Bunnings had a Special Deal – These tools worked well till they were just outside the warranty then batteries needed replacing a month later the drill stopped 2 weeks later the grinder gave up too I am a plumber and use these tools on a regular basisis maybe once to twice a week this was my first expierience using cordless grinders after I was lent a Makita from a fellow… Read more

plumber guess what his grinder is still going as is his batteries and because they were outside there warrantly AEG didnt want to know I asked one of the preps one day at Bunnings and he just said more or less bad luck then there was safety issues I always make sure any safety shield is correctly fitted and tightened not much user if they fall off half way through a cut and nearly took off my finger needing hospital attention and stitches When I bought new cordless tools I went with the Bunnings red Ozito at least even if the stop working it take little to replace but so far have been better than AEG anyway

Great tools , well made and nice and light – I bought my 12 volt drill and impact driver kit with 2 amp an 4 amp batteries app 7 years ago. I have found them to be utterly reliable. They are light in the hand and hold their charge for hours. I would recommend AEG tools to anyone that asks. Next set will be brushless and AEG. Show details

Surprised how good AEG is – I found my first AEG drill so great, that when its charger failed, I bought a charger as brushless kit with batteries, drill and driver. I've cracked socket adapters, but cannot fault the drills/driver. That said though, a near-new 240v drill fell apart while doing a lot of concrete drilling. Taped up, works still. Show details

Some some bad – I have a large range of AEG tools and have had three problems two of the drills (I have 5) the chuck seized and one battery failure ( just wouldn’t recharge). was repaired in a shorter time but it explains why I have ended up with so many drills when you need them for work you can’t wait months for repairs. Battery tools are a real suck in you have batteries that only work on one brand so you keep buying.

I have been using AEG power tools for long time – It very good the first pack I bought but I bought a biger range in 2020 and they are shoking stop working one after the other and there is no replacement policy as well never ever buy AEG again. Show details

replacing the chuck. i cant fault it. on the farm mine out performs my mates ryobi batteries on his ryobi, he seems to be always charging them. I am really happy i got this for fathers day many years ago.

AEG Worthless – Bought the full range of AEG. Batteries don't last and won't charge after a few charges. Gears in the drill broke as well as the chucks. within 4 days but no reply so emaild again still no response. After sales is terrible. AEG was first built in Germany but since the Chinese now own the company like most things that come out of China a rubbish and don't last. My advice is spend a little more and get a top brand but also check out the warranty.

good brand. We wrote a polite complaint email asking to be contacted, but we did not receive any answer. We resent the email, but again no answer. So we called the company on the phone asking about their policy on emails. To make a long story short, we have been promised that someone would have contacted us. 4 days ago, still waiting.... Definitely not worth the money and the trust in the brand.

Crap product – I bought hammer drill, in few months there was a chuck problem (keeps smashing the drill bits) contacted AEG they keep sending me to retailer. Clumsy to use, terrible batteries – I'm a tradesman carpenter for over 35 years. AEG was a great tool back in the 80s and so I bought a complete set of AEG 18v tools. Big mistake. Tools are clumsy to use, heavy, controls lack finesse. I've used a partner's Makita tools and they are in another class altogether and about the same price. And the 5 and 6 Amp/hr batteries have been hopeless from the start and have just gotten worse over time until they are unusable. Show details

make some poor products. See my review on their jigsaw which I scored a one star. AEG is obviously inconsistent which is becoming a worry (noting their parent company makes several other brands).

Unreliable – I bought this drill in a package 7 weeks ago . Yesterday it stopped after hardly any work . Today I took it back to Bunnings expecting them to replace it with a new drill. Both Bunnings and AEG have terrible service and AEG must change their tool warranty to a replacement when it is clear the tools they sell are faulty.

Unreliable Chuck/Clutch – I have to take my top of the line AEG fusion drill for a full refund as i have had it fail on three separate occasions this year within 4-6 weeks of each other. excellent and had no faults at all. The 18v drill is let down by a clutch that starts slipping on downward force with little downward pressure, the trigger mechanism failed on another unit and the manual barrel lock has failed intermittently where it does not open of close the barrel. Only a grinding noise can be heard. I hope that AEG can rectify these issues. Currently i cannot recommend the brand to anyone.

heavy... but the first time I put it to work it lasted about 15mins and well stopped working... dead as a dodo... I rang AEG and they told me that I have to return it to Bunnings. For me to do so was an hour and a half drive then I would have to pick it up... I was not to happy about that, so they offered to pick it up, so that was good, after a month and a couple of phone calls it finally came back, it had been replace, the electrics had blown... Happy to see it again!! I graped the battery to find it was almost flat, it was full before sending the drill.. so it just sat around for about a month... not happy.. I rang AEG again, they told that they will have to have it picked up for testing and the charger... not to pleased but off it went, that too took about a month... and a phone call or two..

I rang Bunnings for help as I was not happy with this product, well they were most helpful it was refunded and I bought a Roybi..

AEG were very helpful in that way 10 out of 10.. .. but I can not recommended there drill...

I had it for about 3 months, and it was in the repair shop 2 months..

So I returned it and bought another Brand..

fortune in purchasing new cells. Money that could be better spent on purchasing a new drill (or drill/impact driver combo).

The criteria I set for myself: brushless motor, decent capacity battery (>3Ah), under $500.

After a couple of weeks searching, watching Youtube reviews, reading other reviews online I settled on the AEG 18V 5.0Ah Compact Brushless 2 Piece Combo Kit.

It met all that I was looking for and more.

The tools will run all day on the 5.0Ah batteries (I'm not a tradie, but when I do use the tools, they get a good workout, especially this time of year waiting for the rain to stop!)

The drill has two speeds and separate drill, drive and hammer drill modes, all are very capable. In hammer drill mode it drills quicker that a hefty Makita 240volt hammer drill I own.

The impact driver, well, I love it. Be careful though I have had it twist the heads off of screws and bolts. Fortunately it has three speed settings which also limit the torque as well.

Brushless is definitely the way to go. Lots of torque and good speed, not to mention better battery life.

The 5.0Ah batteries last well and it is easy to see how much charge they have left with their built in indicators and the included charger seems to charge them at a decent rate.

Both have LED's to light up where you are working. I always thought of these as a bit of an x factor, but now I have them on my tools, they are definitely a great feature.

Overall I am very happy with the kit, it's build quality and performance are exceptional and for me as good as the yellow, red or blue coloured tools.
