My front loader washing machine is fantastic – I have had my AEG front loader for over four years. I love it and its performance is amazing However it stopped. I rang my service agent. They repaired it and even though it was out of warranty AEG honoured the warranty. I was surprised but very pleased. I love my AEG stacker washing machine and dryer. Show details

Spend your money elsewhere – It lasted 5 years and for the price we paid, not happy. The main board has died and the replacement will cost over $500.00. You are better off to get a new washer. Needless to say, it won't be AEG. Very disappointed. Show details

AEG Proven quality! – Our 18 years old AEG 1030W Lavamat came to the end of her journey when bearing on the drum had worned out so much that it sounded like a Space Shuttle taking off and had spit the grease all over drum and interior of the machine. I've done brushes on the motor a few years back (I am a service electrician) and shocks on the drum couple of years ago,… Read more

but now repair cost would be uneconomical, so we had to let old girl go. Enter the generation of AEG front loaders with plenty of bells and whistles and even LSD display!. It is in our household for just about a month, but it is already proven AEG quality, runs quiet - I even had door on laundry open in order to check the noise level and the only time I can hear it running is when it is spinning at full 1,400 RPM. Even more impressive than our old AEG. It has plenty of programs, including quick 20 min. The only one that I wish it had is mist function, since that would entirely retire iron. But this model is not the latest series, therefore price was much more affordable than the latest. Important thing is that AEG warranty is industry leading 5 years on the whole machine and Inverter motor is maintenance free and hopefully would last much longer than that. It is also manufactured in Italy and so far Euro made quality is still the best out there. Another 2 great features are much bigger door and capacity of 8kg which is almost double of our old one. Only gripe I have is that door can be open from left to right (to be fair that is common for all but 1 manufacturer!) which is not ideal for our placement. Nevertheless, AEG had proven quality and I am happy with my investment.

Best Washing Machine I have ever had! – Normally I can't be bothered writing reviews but it is so worthy of one...I have had a many washing machines, but this is by far the best! I purchased it on the recommendation of a local appliance centre, so was actually quite surprised that it lived up to its reputation!!. I had previously purchased a Siemens front loader which only lasted a… Read more

couple of years despite purchasing it for $1800! - it then required new brushes, pump etc. The AEG has the feature of being able to add a forgotten item of laundry to the wash if the drum isn't full of water and also the delayed start allowing you to wash overnight etc. I also like the way it adds enough water to cover the clothes as the last washing machine didn't seem to add enough water and I would wonder if the clothes were being rinsed properly. It really does an amazing clean, albeit long cycles, it even rids the school clothes of permanent marker!!! How about that!!! Well done AEG.

Well priced for a quiet quality machine – My previous washing machine stopped unexpectantly & I needed a new one purchased/installed ASAP! I was originally looking at a replacement LG but was persuaded by friends, Choice online & the retailer Kambos Malaga to consider an AEG! (Surprisingly, the AEG wasn't that much more expensive than similar sized machines produced by brands of lesser… Read more

Worth the money – We were after a washing machine thought about a second hand one than thought better if it. want a machine that you can use for a vet long time. With a growing family we can't afford to have something that will break down and need repairing better to spend the money on a very good machine.

Hubby's work uniform is heavily full of dirt all the time and the AEG can handle it. Uniform comes out very clean afterwards. We also have a little one and having the hot water 60 degree option is great. For a front load you also have time save option choosing how long the washing last for. Love all the great options. Also a quite machine not needing a huge amount of detergent to get washing cleaned.

Service has been excellent ! Shame it needs to be repaired – Hi All, My AEG washer has just had the power board fail (we think?). Problem - with emptying the water filter – I like my new washing machine but I would like some advice or guidance in what to do in emptying the water filter on this machine. Too many problems – Purchased in 2013. We paid more thinking it was a quality product, definitely not the case. We liked the quick wash and being able to stop and add clothes. Errors constantly and now paddles/fins have broken off. We will be without a washing machine for 2-3 weeks!!! Think Australia Post have express post, even in Tasmania.

So far, so good! – I've only had this machine for 11 days but the results so far have been great! I had a hard time deciding on which brand to choose after reading so many mixed reviews on many brands from Electrolux - Miele, but decided that the AEG would be the best machine for me: 5 year warranty, German made, adjustable temperature/spin, free… Read more

delivery/installation.

So far, I have used the delicate, wool/silk, easy iron, cotton (+ prewash), and rinse/spin cycles. Most of my clothes need to be washed on a delicate cycle at 30* and have come out clean and fresh. Shirts washed at 40* on the easy iron cycle and drip dried also came out very well with no need to set up the iron. Some of the woollen items seemed to have some residual lint on them after washing, but they had been lying around unused for some time before I decided to freshen them up. I was concerned about the possibility of my clothes being damaged and harshly treated by the machine as some users have experienced, but in this short time frame I certainly haven't seen any signs of excessive wear on anything.

The machine is extremely quiet throughout most of the cycle. Only during the spin cycle do I hear some noise, but nothing too loud or for any great length of time. The machine is level and very stable and doesn't try to "walk" out of the laundry, so the dryer sitting on top of it is perfectly safe and stays where it should.

The pause feature, (which seems to be becoming a standard feature on most front loaders), is always handy for adding extra items to the load. The ability of the machine to detect the quantity of washing and then adjust the amount of water and time needed adds to its efficiency. Also, the option to customise each cycle by adjusting the temperature and spin speed is very handy.

My experience with AEG was positive. The night before I was to take delivery of the machine I was contacted and told that someone would arrive between 2:00-3:00. At 2:35 there was a knock on the door and the delivery men were there to install my new machine and remove my old Bendix washer/dryer. They took great care with everything and there were no mishaps!

It's only early days, but if someone needs to buy a washing machine fairly suddenly, as I did, I can only say that so far I am very happy with my purchase. I really hope that this machine will stand the test of time and continue to give me many years of great service.

Smelly, smelly, smelly.....but it does clean – My AEG Lavamat front load washing smells extremely bad. I now leave the door open (for as long as I can handle the smell). AEG Customer Service – I'm very disappointed with the AEG customer service. I ordered an AEG front loader washing machine through Domayne West Gosford with the proviso it had to be delivered in 3 days, on the Friday as I was going to be overseas the following week. I was assured the delivery would be made on the specified day, as the machine was in stock and the lead… Read more

time was 3 days. Domayne advised the driver would call on the day with the time of delivery. Except no call was made and no delivery happened. Domayne called AEG around lunchtime on the Friday to track the delivery. AEG said the truck was too big to deliver to my address. The earliest they could deliver would be Tuesday of next week. AEG hadn't bothered to tell me that. Also, my driveway is fairly wide and no other supplier had any problems with delivery. Domayne, very helpfully, then suggested that AEG drop the machine to their warehouse so that they (Domayne) could deliver it on the Saturday. That wasn't possible for AEG as it transpired that the machine had actually never left the AEG warehouse. I then had to cancel the purchase as I needed a machine by that week. I bought a Bosch which Domayne delivered on the Saturday. 2 1/2 half weeks later I'm still waiting on the refund from AEG.

I think I must've smelled funny before I bought this machine – ** Update - died on its 5th birthday - down from 5 to 2 stars *** I'm not sure why I persevered with my aging Simpson Esprit 450. Not that is was a bad machine. I bought it second-hand as an emergency stand-in for 75 bucks after my Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive died of a sudden cataclysmic electrical failure. In my experience things with 47… Read more

touch buttons, multiple led flashy beeping things and no mechanical dials tend to do that, and there’s no redemption - unless you have a soldering iron, an extremely steady hand, and a PhD in Electrical Engineering.

So after 4 years of reliable service from $75, I figured it was time to upgrade. Well, what helped me figure that out was a creeping feeling that I was starting to smell like an old wet chux. The demise of the Simpson started slowly. The occasional powder residue on a sheet, the odd stain left behind... this progressed to the odd stain being created, and my clothes having the subtle bouquet of a 15 year-old Labrador. I don’t know what went wrong with the Esprit. I maintained it, used quality detergent. I think it just lost its will to clean.

In came the AEG. Yet another 2nd hand purchase. Which all things considered is rather lucky for me, because as I have gathered, people not normally sell these things once they’ve got them... you see, when I enquired as to why it was for sale, I was told quite bluntly, “deceased estate”. Enough said.

I really couldn’t justify the frightening retail price of a new machine. So in came the mint condition AEG L77480FL. Only 3 months old, and seemingly very little use, for 25% of the price of new. In hindsight knowing what I know now, I’d be happy enough to pay full freight. It’s that good.

The first thing I noticed upon meeting the AEG was the sheer weight of this thing as I wrestled it toward the laundry room. Though making it rather impractical to move, I suppose it means build quality, or at least almost impossible for anyone to steal. The second and third things I noticed were how simple it was to use and how quiet it was. The fourth and most important thing I noticed was how clean my clothes are. I mean, I know this is the basic reason for a ‘washing’ machine coming into being, but this machine makes me wonder whether all the previous washing machines in my life were doing nothing more than distributing the filth evenly amongst my clothes.

So I’m about 1 month into ownership and actively looking for things not yet washed by this machine to be washed. Things are coming out looking newer and fresher. Not to mention its capacity is reasonably large and it can swallow a lot of stuff. That will come out clean. Very clean. It cleans clothes really well. It has a very long warranty. It takes a while, but I presume it's busy cleaning.

Unable to recommend biting an AEG washing machine – If you value quality and customer service, save yourself a headache and do not buy an AEG washing machine. AEG L77480FL-No Power – I have an AEG L77480FL Washing machine which has 3 years warranty left. I called the service centre on Friday 6th March as there was no power to the machine. seen this problem with many customers lately. He promised to order the replacement part and get back on Wednesday. Since I had no phone call from the Technician today Wednesday 11th I called Electrolux Brisbane 07 3907 1908. The person who answered the call informed me that the service call is completed and closed. When I mentioned to her that I am still waiting for the technician to arrive with the part she said the Technician is on sick leave and the part is not ordered and to call Sydney (1300363664) and order the part. When I called this number the person who answered was most helpful and she was going to arrange the part to be shipped from Adelaide. She informed me that the technician will arrive on Friday with the part but cannot guarantee that this will get fixed on Friday.

I purchased AEG because of its name. But the service I am getting is very poor. I am not happy because the Brisbane service centre did not want to take the ownership of the problem and expected me to contact Sydney call centre for the second time. The mistake was done by Brisbane service centre and they could have arrange the part to be sent to Brisbane and reschedule another visit by the technician.

Also the technician mentioned that he came across faulty control boards with other customers too and thought that it was a batch fault. If there were other customers with the same issue, Why didn't he carry this controller board with him as a spare part?

I am truly unhappy with the service aeg is providing!!!

No Installation and no reply from Support – This brand (and Miele and Asko) is a fixed price and any retailer only acts as an agent so we arranged delivery and installation with AEG (with the removal of the old machine) and the new AEG washer arrived, had the transport bolts removed and the old machine removed - that was it! As the water inlet hose hole in the bench was not wide enough (it… Read more

was fine for the broken ASKO machine) the installers would not complete the installation. I wrote an email to AEG stating the installation had not been completed and the short reply I received included an apology (Thank you, AEG) and references to the manual and the terms of service (which were attached to the email). I replied stating neither the Harvey Norman salesperson or the AEG installer who phoned us to confirm installation had warned us about the need for the hole to be large enough for the water filter (approx 60mm diameter) so how was any customer suppose to know - I am still waiting for a reply (nearly 1 week and now the cooling off period has expired - good marketing strategy).......

The machine is OK (even though I hate the rubber door seal as I know it will eventually perish). The wash quality is about the same as our 10 yr old ASKO W6021 actually but the new ASKO's are too pricey. I would have given the machine 3-4 stars but Customer Support deserve 0 stars so I averaged the score to 2 stars. Overall, pay extra and get a Miele, just for the better support! The digital controls and 5 Yr warranty. Installation not completed (connections, leveling, pre-use wash, instructions/suggestions). A 1 hour and 8 minute wash took over 2 hours to complete. Can't store program (temp/spin) changes for further uses. Not as quiet as what I thought it would be.

Don't waste your money!! – Bought L62800 model in 2008 and it rusted in the front...the tech that came tried to say it wasn't a defect and must of been caused by our neutered cats spraying the machine. model was delivered last July and has basically ruined a vast number of our items, face washers, towels basically anything white will be ruined as it flicks crap and grease all over things. I did wonder what the stink of grease was when it was delivered. The same tech has come back and surprise surprise it's not a fault but a build up that I will need to sort out by buying some caustic soda from shop and following a very detailed maintenance schedule. What a rip off. I just want my money back which of course won't be happening as there's apparently no defect. It must be first on the list when doing product training. Remember: our products are not defective!!!!! The products are shoddy and I will never buy this brand ever again...and another thing stay clear of the vacuums too that's another story I just don't have time for as I've now got to try and fix all my wrecked items. The seals get mould in too, doesn't matter how careful you are with wiping them out. Painful experience and I look forward to going back to a top loader in a better brand. Great machine – I purchased this washer about 6 weeks ago. After reading hundreds of reviews on this site, and being really confused about which washer I thought I wanted, I went to Harvey Norman with the intent of buying a Bosch. When I looked at the front loaders (I've always had a top loader - 6kg) I was really worried that the 8 kg was going to be way to… Read more

small for my family of 5, as the drums look smaller.

After much deliberation, I almost went for an LG 10 kg front loader. The salesman steered me away from Bosch and stated they were no good now that they were made in Asia (HN didn't stock the German made ones). What swayed me was that the AEG came with a 5 year warranty at $1399 and the LG was $1299 + $200 for a the 5 year warranty. I then did a bit more research about AEG, and a couple of friends also recommended it.

I have been using this washer everyday for the last 6 weeks, and it fits much bigger loads in it than I expected, washes very well, uses hardly any laundry powder (I was using a lot of liquid in my top loader - I'm not even half way through my first box of OMO after 6 weeks of washing every day)! It is quieter than my old top loader. I can open it and add stuff if I need, It takes me about 2.15 hours on a regular wash (but I add an extra rinse, otherwise it would be under 2 hours). I wash my children's school blazers and winter tunics in it on delicate cycle, and they come out perfect (Better than dry cleaning - and cheaper)!

Despite some other reviews, we had no issue with delivery and installation. AEG delivered when scheduled and fitted it in laundry without issue.

I am really happy with it and hope this review is helpful to others. Washes really well, clothes much cleaner. It fits large loads and is relatively quiet and uses hardly any detergent. I dry the seal off after each load which is a bit of a nuisance, but to be honest it only takes about 30 seconds! I don't want to risk getting mould in it.

Where do I start? – My wife and I decided to purchase a better then normal washing machine this time round. The delivery was set for the fri between 2 & 5pm. At 5:15 the nice delivery man arrived. man asked if we would like to not accept it and put our old washing machine back and return the faulty AEG. Being much later then we anticipated I declined as it would have then been at least 7pm by the time he would have been done. My wife then organised a technician through the AEG centre. He was booked for the 22/4/13. Without even calling the man did not turn up. The technician called on the 23/4/13 to say he was around the corner (a day we didn't organise), but given we're at work, this didn't suit us. So we tried again for 29/4/13 between 2-4pm, this was not to be neither as the technician this time round calls at 12.15 to say his around the corner. As we were 1hr away he then declined the job even though the appointment was for between 2-4. We try again, was booked for today the 1/5/13 between 12-2pm, no show no phone call no nothing. We called the centre to see what happened and to our shock the technician then leaves notes that he has tried calling all day when this is un true. This is now beyond a joke. We are the type of people who don't complain and usually accept what others would not, but this has made me so mad that I'm even writing a review about it. (Not usually how I do business)

Take another day off work – I like to base my decisions on positive and sometimes negative reviews and are disappointed when I get a "told you so feeling " from my own experience. fix the pricing and organise all logistics of the delivery) stating a time had been picked out for an early morning delivery . I explained i had been promised a time from Harvey Norman and that they must stick to this as it would interfere with work ( I had organised to take off the afternoon at my expense )

So after a few phone calls the delivery time as promised was scheduled for the following day after purchasing the goods.

Long story short front loading washing machine is delivered to me with careless warehouse damage to the top of machine.....I had to laugh because I somewhat expected this from the reviews on here and on various other consumer blogs ....anyway no problem they said take another day off and we will get one out to you.....I said resend one today or you take the day off tomorrow and pay for my wage.....see they don't get it..

we as consumers expect a fair delivery time and our expectations are high when you buy a high end products...As it is now they have until 7 am to deliver the item or I have spoken to Harvey Norman and will expect the purchase cancelled. I spoke to 2 different people in the complaints department today who were more than empathetic to my situation that their delivery employees have created but still expect me to take another day off work at my expense.....

it's just not right and I feel they should have immediately had another machine heading my way at their expense as this is their fault , not mine....aren't they in charge of logistics? By the way there are hundreds of courier drivers who can drive an appliance from Moorabbin to Taylors Lakes within an hours notice.....lazy attitude by AEG and retailers wonder why people purchase from the internet. It's German Engineering and cost $1500 it should be good. Damaged item ...they should have jumped through hoops to get me a replacement.
