Absolute rubbish this microwave was replaced in 2017 due to common fault kept shorting the main electricity board. The replacement microwave then failed again In 2021 same problem was fixed and advised by the repairer it’s a common fault with these microwaves, well same problem again has occurred, I informed AEG customer service who didn’t want to know as the repair warranty is only valid for 12 months and labour 3 months?? Show details

Worked well for 7 years – Worked well, used nearly every day for 7 years, microwave and fan heat. Now shuts down after 10 minutes, can't do anything until it cools down. Technician from AEG said needs new control board, but AEG don't supply them any more. He also said moisture from cooking gets into control board and destroys it! Dodgy design! Because of this and because of very poor reviews of latest combi oven, would never buy AEG again Show details

Poor quality – Cost an arm and a leg! The display started to malfunction after 5-6 years The microwave stopped working after c 7 years, had it fixed... Rarely used the combi oven piece but when we did it tripped the electrics.... For the money (nearly £1000) I would expect it to last at least 10 years fault free.... at least.... Show details

Don't buy an AEG oven or microwave – This microwave has failed us repeatedly and needed repairs 3 times now. This is not worth the thousands of dollars we paid for it. Do not be fooled thinking you are getting a reliable quality product. Only ever used the microwave function and quite quickly it needed a new megatron and motherboard but was under warranty. We thought we were… Read more

unlucky, but then a second time again the microwavce would not work and again away for weeks getting repaired. Really inconvenient and should not happen with a product of this price. Third time we are just so fed up!! I will need it repaired again and I have been quoted over $750.

I have never used something more over complicated and useless – Don’t waste your money. This thing is over complicated and does a crap job at everything. I would be happy to never see or use one of these pieces of junk again

Very disappointing product – Unfortunately this oven barely made it passed the warranty period before the microwave died. Didn't use the oven functions (other than for warming plates) as it didn't seem to be consistent heating. A very over priced unit. Show details

Not again ! – The latest of our AEG kitchen appliances to die. Has always done weird things but now refuses to set the timer and switches on and off by itself. Replaced the mother board when it was new. Really upsetting considering we bought 7 appliances from AEG for the kitchen. 2 dead now.... Show details

AEG combi microwave = rubbish! – Does not cook food evenly - YOU have to be the turntable opening the door every 30sec to turn your food to try distribute the heat and even then it's still cold in the middle! You cant cook papadums or popcorn either!!! Bye bye movie nights where you and the kids want buttery popcorn from a bag. Nup!! Absolute rubbish and hugely dissappointing considering price tag. Show details

Made the 5 year warranty but that's it – This machine has not had a whole lot of usage even though we brought 5 1/2 years for a number of reasons We had reliable AEG service guy look at it $121. Who could not identify why it has stopped and scared us about cost of repairing it. We need to replace it with something that goes with our AEG oven. Not easy as AGE have total different product and we cannot find anything with similar look.  Show details

Would advise anybody looking for a combi/oven do not buy AEG they don't work – Buy any thing else but AEG they don't work. Food is unevenly heated or cooked. Trays have to be removed each time you use microwave function. Little thought appears to have gone into the design or functionality of this product. This has made trusting the quality ofAEG products hard. Rethink anything they have.  Show details

AEG Product failed FOUR times since new. Unreliable, Faulty, Overpriced Rubbish. Zero stars – This is a terrible product. The AEG MCC3881E-M has failed four times and been away for weeks at a time since it was professionally installed. The oven is rated at 1000watts but four independent tests done under the Australian Standard have failed and the maximum power output is 762watts verified by an electrical engineer with technical… Read more

measurement tools.

Something that should take 1 minute to heat up, takes 3 or longer. Something that requires reheating for 3 minutes requires 6 minutes on full power even after stopping half way to turn or stir the item being heated.

There are also noticeable rust spots where the glass front meets the stainless steel. These started developing six weeks after purchase. This is the edge of the stainless steel and has not been treated properly.

Each time the oven, which was several thousand dollars needs to be repaired, it is picked up, taken away for 2-3 weeks at a time. It takes Electrolux over a week to organise a pick up for your products and then it is in a service centre for several weeks before being returned. When it is returned, the delivery people cannot test it so another service call needs to be put in and you are again stuck with a faulty or no product for close to a month.

On the fourth failure Electrolux (distributor of the AEG brand) offered to replace it with a different model. All the new AEG models are too deep from front to rear and do not fit in a standard in-built space which was built to accommodate 545mm depth ovens which is a common size.

If this was a cheapie $100 oven we would just throw it out but this cost several thousand dollars and should last longer than a month.

Electrolux/AEG staff have been very helpful and polite on the phone but cannot fix a dodgy, faulty, unreliable piece of rubbish.

Drooping door stops cooking – My unit's door does not seal after opening to turn food around. A technician has done everything possible to fix this but with no succes. The customer care I am receiving is not as good as I had hoped for after spending al this money. Still waiting for a replacement. Would not recommend this make to anyone. In Holland we would say, 'AEG laat je… Read more

nooit in de steek', meaning AEG never lets you down. Well it does. Very very upset about it .

As for the grill. it is impossible to take the GLASS tray out without burning yourself as there is no handset involved, ridiculous . poor poor poor machine.

So much for buying good looking alliances hey. Not suitable for people who like to use their kitchen to cook.

A good product but no recipe book – I agree this Microwave is complicated to use but you can learn reasonably quickly. I bought this model because I thought it would be efficient for just 2 people. However I have never had combination microwave before and because their is no recipe book to teach myself on its varied uses I feel I have paid a great deal of money for a basic… Read more

microwave. The instruction book alone is not adequate. Other companies have recipe books why not AEG for this model 30 sec button, Quality is very good Complicated. e.g. if you want a lower intensity burst it takes 6 steps.

Manual too complicated – It appears that you need an engineering degree to use this microwave. The manual is complicated and the customer service helpline just suggested going into a shop and asking for a demonstration! Maybe it is a good oven but whether I will ever be able to use it and find out I doubt. Every function seems to involved 6 or so steps to get started.… Read more

Wish I hadn't waste the money, for the price it should be a simple intuitive process to use it. Looks good Too complicated

AEG MCC3881E-M failed before it's first use – Thought I needed to make as may people aware as possible as to the issues I have had with some so called quality AEG kitchen appliances. My wife and I chose AEG ( Electrolux ) kitchen appliances as we were under the belief they were an appliance of above average quality. How wrong we could be, our convection microwave (model MCC3881E-M ) failed… Read more

before it's first use, it turned itself on and we could not turn it off, at au$2399 , thought this was very unacceptable.

Our au$4999 BS9314001M combi steam oven failed on its very first use, this failure flooded our new kitchen cupboards with water.

AEG replaced the microwave and have repaired the oven (although the later is not to my satisfaction).

Just a warning, don't believe that by purchasing AEG you are getting a quality product, as you can see from my experience, you are not.

Next time I'll buy Miele or Neff. Looks Good Very complicated to operate, book is next to usless. Questionable quality

Think twice before buying – This unit has so many features that it is very difficult to use or understand. Usability 1 out of 10. Had installed for 4 days and the microwave died. Still waiting for repair. Reliability 0 out of 10. Build quality looks good and it seems to be solidly manufactured. Quality 5 out of 10. Looks great and matches other AEG products. Unreliable (microwave stopped working after 4 days). Very complicated to operate.
