Worked well, until It blew up – I have loved this microwave oven since I bought it 4yo ago. I am writing this now just in case others have a similar experience. I bought this microwave to replace the inevitability of our 14yo microwave blowing up. I have used the Ariston almost daily. It has multiple functions and easy to use. However today my 12yo son was cooking popcorn and… Read more

the thing started making an awful noise and sparking like the whole thing was going to literally explode. I quickly unplugged it and had a closer inspection, I could see there was a hole burnt into he side of it. It almost started a fire and it scares me to think what might have happened if I wasn't there to deal with the issue. I honestly don't think 4years is long enough for an appliance this expensive to last. We actually still have our now 18yo microwave which hasnt missed a beat.

As I read the review below mine, I am thinking that perhaps this is a fault with the mechanics of the product, and nothing that we have personally done. We have followed directions, cleaned accordingly and taken care of the appliance. I'm a bit disappointed to be honest, but there isn't much I can do, because 4years is well out of warranty.

Best Convection Microwave I’ve ever had – I’ve only had this microwave for a few weeks so far and already it’s exceeding my expectations. I didn’t even know this product existed until recently. I previously had a reliable Panasonic convection microwave for many years, which was then followed by two LG NeoChef convection microwaves, both of which broke within a year with the same… Read more

problem. With the Ariston, it surpasses all functionality I had previously. My favourite features so far are firstly the ability to reheat food to perfection, with the click of just two buttons - Reheat and Start. A sensor then works out the rest from there. And secondly the ability to cook a roast chicken with roast potatoes in 40 minutes on a crisp plate with another click of just a few buttons. The recipe book which comes with it (digital) is filled with great recipes and examples of the features, and the Manual has an extensive list of Chef Menu options which again make cooking so much easier. Great purchase so far!

Stick with it...The MWA33B Ariston is pretty neat convection microwave bench top oven – 1, When I first used it I was upset because it didn't behave like my previous oven. I felt like I had to babysit all my cooking because the times and settings were so different from what I was used to. 2. It has taken about 1.5 months of using different settings and now I can say this: 3. The crisp setting is marvelous. I have cooked bacon and… Read more

eggs on it and very tasty and cooked well. I have cooked fish fillets from frozen and after the first few times figured the best timing and now fish is moist and flaky and has the crisp taste. I have cooked crumbed veal and french lamb cutlets in the crisper. For these I added a little oil. I have cooked sliced eggplant to make a lasagna with. Now if you are cooking crumbed items do use a little drizzle of oil because the crisp setting does what it says - it crisps - and if you don't time it right the food tastes like burnt cardboard. The crisp plate handle is a great accessory too. 4. The microwave "sensor" reheat is perfect, just press the button and the food heats well and does not dry out. Tip: use the plastic plate cover that you can buy separately because this stops the food from spitting as it heats. 5. The microwave "steamer" uses the "sensor" technology and it steams fish from frozen perfectly and steams veges as well. The steamer dish is a brilliant accessory. 6. I have baked a few cakes and slices using the convection oven and they are not down pat but the beauty is you can reset the heat and timing without any issues until the cake cooks just right. I use the "with preheat" function each time and this helps. I have baked a lamb and vege roast and again time wise I had to babysit it a bit until the meat was cooked the way we like it. Take notes of cooking times that work for you so you have them for next time you roast the same dish. The manual and electronic chef menu on the unit itself are pretty neat but again I did have to babysit a bit until I know which settings get the food cooked how we like it. 7. Now the crisp plate did warp after about 5 uses and no I did not immerse it into cold water while it was piping hot. Ariston asked me to take some photos of the crisp plate and they have replaced it under warranty no worries. But I don't know why it warped to start with. 8. Took some getting used to, but I use the Ariston convection oven for everything pretty much and the more I use it, the more our food is cooked with chef quality results. 9. I wish it had a display clock on it....if it is there I can't find it and there is no display for it. I like to be able to glance at my microwave as I pass the kitchen and see what time it is but I can't do that with the Ariston. But it does have a timer count down on it if you need that. 10. The unit, for me personally, is a bit difficult to clean because I am short and the oven door opens frontward and I have to - really stretch to reach in - to wipe the sides and back of the oven after each use. 11. It is a heavy unit but it does slide when you open/close the door over time and when cleaning it. I have found that it slides towards the back wall where it is sitting on the bench and I have to remember to move it forward to make sure there is enough air circulation at the back of the unit. I will buy a stopper from bunnings and put it at the back so it slides to the edge of the stopper and stays there. 12. It is a very nice looking unit and is a modern addition to any kitchen. 13. It is smallish on the inside dimensions but the turntable is 360mm so it can fit a fairly decent sized baking dish maybe for 2 adult and 2 small kids worth of food it can cook at one time. 14. There is ability to buy a baking tray that slides into the oven on the rails that are fixed inside. I have not done that as I don't have any use for it yet. The rails that stick out for the baking tray does take away a little from the inside cooking space and a largish leg of lamb with a bone sticking out would fit but then would hit the oven sides as the turntable spins during cooking. 15. I have found that to buy baking/cooking dishes for this convection oven or any convection oven is to buy a dish that is microwave/dishwasher/oven safe all in one. Then you don't have to remember which is which. Pyrex and chasseur are the two brands I stick to (especially pyrex as I love the glass as opposed to using plastic ware) as they tend to have dishes that suit the multiple environments. 16. I have cooked cheesecake ingredients in a pyrex glass measuring jug and used the microwave "jet" setting and the cooking time is less than 2 minutes. Also with the microwave setting you can choose how many watts you want to microwave at which helps when cooking things like custard as you want it to cook but not boil over because the milk gets too hot. 17. It took me around 2 months of online research and offline looking for a new convection bench top microwave. I went in store to measure and checkout all the ovens I had short listed and I boiled it down to the Ariston even though it was not the largest inside it was the best in terms of technology, looks and use and the price was less than the others at AUD$669 from Harvey Norman whilst the others were close or over AUD$1K. But like I said before, it has taken me about 1.5 months of daily use to actually learn to appreciate it and not be so stuck on what my old broken convection microwave was/could do. 18. Ariston offered a cookbook and electronic kitchen scale as a promo offer when I bought it in September. 19. Ariston also offer a Gary Mehigan cookbook for leaving a product review. 20. The more I use it the more I really like it :)

BEST MICROWAVE EVER ! (THROW AWAY YOUR OVEN) – I purchased my Ariston MWA33B based on the great reviews here ,but it still went beyond my expectations. I very much doubt I will use my oven again. Not only is the food cooked to perfection but it looks picture perfect as if a master chef made it and it tastes even better ! I roasted the best chicken using the Dynamic crisper plate that I have… Read more

ever cooked in my life . As it was just under 1.800 kg and the Ariston only goes up to 1.500 kg for a chicken (41 mins )I just used the same program again & stopped it after 30 mins just to be safe and the results were spectacular and the accompanying roast potato & pumpkin were incredible. I have also made the best quiche ever & the best lasagna (in a huge dish to serve 8 people) & the best pizza etc. I have just ordered the cake tin and I can't wait to bake ! I adore the fast cooking times and despite me cooking up a storm the microwave is remaining spotless ! My husband told me I look happier using the microwave than I did on our wedding day ! He made me laugh ,but cooking in this machine is a joy instead of a chore. For the first time in my life I feel like a great cook. This microwave is my all time favourite machine ! It may be pricey ,but it is worth every cent and now I know how amazing it is,I'd even pay more. It looks a little daunting to use ,but it is actually quite simple and the instruction manual is very helpful. I got the hang of it in no time. My microwave came with 2 grilling stands (different heights), a vege steamer and the Dynamic Crisping tray which is nothing short of miraculous and makes browning and roasting and baking a breeze !

I’ve been using the Ariston MWA33B for a few weeks now, and honestly, I’m super impressed... It’s way more than just a microwave it feels like a mini oven with all the functions packed into it. roasted, reheated. All turned out great.

Build quality feels solid and premium, and it’s surprisingly quiet during use. Also, major shoutout to how easy it is to clean! That was a big plus for me. Definitely feels like a good value for money considering what it can do.

Worth the price for $699 when I purchased this is for the kitchen and it's been a solid choice. Heats food evenly, the 33L size is perfect for big plates or reheating meals for the family. The auto-cook settings are handy, especially for defrosting meat or doing quick meals. Sleek design too looks good on the bench and easy to keep clean. Show details

I’ve been using this microwave for a while now and honestly, it’s way more than just a basic microwave. It’s got a good-sized interior, so I can fit bigger dishes without playing microwave Tetris. The grill function is a nice touch, and the Crisp Plate actually does what it promises.

Loved It For Almost Two Years – I used this product several times a day for almost two years and wrote a review to rave about it. However, thank goodness, two months before the Warranty ran out, it started to give a few problems. When side light went out it wouldn't work for a very short while, then was fine. machine went on fire and blew part of the wall out. Having said this I would buy another again in a heartbeat, but the company I bought the oven from no longer sells them and I am left wondering what to do. I used the steam function for really the first time for serious cooking last week, and think the steam caused the oven to short circuit.

Wonderful appliance that does everything you want – We use this as our main cooking station. It does everything you could want from grilling to baking to microwave. It is so easy to handle when your unit is on a benchtop so you can access it easily and it does not heat up a kitchen the way an oven would. This is a great item for small spaces or for someone who needs easy access. Show details

Waist of money – After reading several reviews I bought the MWA33B. I soon learned you halve to be a rocket scientist to operate. Second, there is no interior light, so you can't see what's going on and third, you cant use the grill with the door open. Waist of $700.00 plus freight  Show details

Ditch the Old Oven – It has certainly improved my lifestyle to replace my old wall-connected oven with my counter-top Ariston MWA33B. I am very pleased to find how well it bakes, so much more efficiently than my previous cumbersome stove. Quicker, more targeted heat, great grilling and crisping features. It defrosts food rapidly and the choice of cooking features broadens my range of cooking options and possible meals for my family. Show details

oven.

We've only been using the microwave for around a week so haven't fully gotten across all the features and how to use them to the best advantage. The instruction manual gives a good indication of what each function is used for and the utensils that came with the oven are already being used - the crisper plate and racks. I haven't used the steamer yet but it's next on the list.

The food that we have re-cooked using the crisper plate has retained its flavor and texture and this is great.

I cannot wait to learn more about the other features and start using them and I would recommend this item to anyone who is looking to replace their microwave. It would be an excellent item to have for people living on their own.

I made the Potato Gratin from the cookbook and that was so easy and tasty. We have used the crisper plate as well. I am enjoying the ease of use, the many functions and my next cooking adventure will be baking a cake and melting chocolate. I am kind of sorry that my old microwave lasted so long.
