Starving – We literally ordered oysters and we got them 3 hours later. We spoke to 6 staff members about it and nothing was done. Then we found a staff member named Mia who was the only one whom fixed the problem Thanks mia We would of starved without you

Unreliable cruise – I had booking for vivid show on June 15 for all my family, 2 adult and 2 kids. Waited for 45 mins in queue and returned empty hand :( Boat came in wharf to drop off passengers did not say anything at that time. After 30 mins some one (not from cruise team) advised boat is broken and advised to ask for refund with company. What a non sense no one… Read more

from the cruise came to apologise. Did not take any initiation for alternative arrangement. I spent time and money (transportation) for nothing. Even i had to pay more for dinner as that was my dinner cruise. I strongly advise you not to use this cruise at any cost. You will gonna waste your money and time with this cruise.

Horrible experience – Don’t ever choose this cruise. There was no buffet. Instead the food was distributed crudely by the cruise staffs. The food is tasteless and there is no table to put the food on. We had to put the dishes on our laps to eat. The plastic dishes were not that strong to hold as well. The drinks were served in small plastic cups. There was no… Read more

discipline on the cruise. People didn’t stand in the queue. Some people stood in front of other people who were sitting on the chairs. They blocked the pathways, made lots of loud noises and refused to move away throughout the whole trip. The whole experience was a disaster. Money was wasted with nothing enjoyable at all.

Very disappointing - don't book with this Company – I agree with all previous comments. We booked this cruise because it was a 2 hour cruise with buffet and 2 drinks which sounded great. The embarking was pretty chaotic. After trying to find someone to talk to we were told that the Afloat boat had broken down and we were upgraded to another boat - Constellation. Which probably meant twice as… Read more

many people as we were with the passengers who had booked on the Constellation. It was very crowded. We were among the first to get our food and it was cold. There was no choice as it was all just put on a plate and handed to you. There was no dessert as stated on voucher. Not sure how you are supposed to eat from a plastic plate with a plastic knife and fork, holding a drink and standing on a moving boat! Why not some finger food if you are not going to supply enough tables and chairs? The lights were pretty but we just did the loop twice and that was it. 15 minute embarkation, 65 minute cruise, 10 minute disembarkation - a 2 hour cruise??? Luckily it was a lovely warm night as I don't know what would have happened if it had rained! I feel sorry if anyone had paid full price as even the $35 Groupon voucher was a bit of a rip off. I think Groupon should not be associated with this Company. Very disappointing and I'm sure didn't leave a very good impression on tourists to our lovely city.

Worst experience ever! – I bought 2 tickets for a 90-min Vivid cruise that included dinner and drinks. The boat was overcrowded and there were no tables to eat so they could fit more people. Food was disgusting: overcooked pasta with a tiny piece of chicken, 2 potatoes and a slice of bread served on a plastic dish (very handy when there's no table to eat and the boat is… Read more

They sold it as a luxury Vivid cruise, but it's nothing like that. Please save your money and go somewhere else.

TOTAL WASTE YOUR MONEY & TIME - (1 star rating is way too high) – MY SCORE: NEGATIVE 1 We attended a prime vivid dinner Saturday night. Should have grabbed McDonalds & hired a water taxi. What a rip off, no tables to eat your small questionable food on your but you did get your very own plastic plate with plastic knifes & forks. Advertised as an 2.5hr cruise but we were back & docked a little over 1.25hrs.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT

The worst – This was the worst. The boat was old, not enough room, the windows inside you could barely see out of and no room to stand outside. The “buffet” food was a small piece of chicken, 3 green beans, par boiled potatoes we couldn’t stick a fork in, and some random pasta. Oh and dessert was a shot glass filled with jam. That’s right, jam. Super disappointed and I was embarrassed I booked this cruise for a nice night out. Do not book this cruise.

Fake advertisement – Don't go with afloat cruises. Groupon should also look into this. One of the worst cruises. The food was no great but I can disregard that. However it was said that It was a buffet, everyone only got like a quarter of my dinner portion (even less). $35 cruise, I shouldn't have expected too much of it. My advice. Go somewhere else.

Dinner cruise? – Booked a vivid dinner cruise. Boat was overcrowded and long queues for food. Food was terrible and they ran out. Supposed to get dessert but none available. Cruise docked half an hour earlier than advertised. Total waste of money.

False advertising – Went on a vivid cruise with a buffet including desert - well what a joke they run out of food all we got was a small piece of chicken and a couple of potatoes they ran out of bread roll beans and pasta and hardly any chicken. time to serve desert - makes me wonder if they had ever planned on serving desert as half the staff knew nothing about it when I first enquired .I said that's ok we can eat on the run but flatly refused to serve desert no apology just a free drink but not everyone drinks !! Lucky we meet some really nice people on the cruise and had a few laughs and the lights were good.I would not recommend this company and will not use them again there is a lot of competition out there and I think they have lost a lot of business from there poor performance.

Poor Food Service – Afloat Cruises My wife and I attended your 9.45pm Queen Mary 2 cruise last night. drink vouchers with the comment “ enjoy”.

In this time of uncertainty, more care should have been taken.,

Secondly, the PA system onboard your craft was nothing short of woeful, you simply could not hear your cruise director unless you stood within the immediate vicinity of him.

Thirdly, the food served – some form of sea food wrapped in a batter stick and the minuscule hamburgers was nothing short of third rate and both were extremely tasteless.

A number of passengers I spoke with thought the same.

The desert was obviously something brought via Coles or Woolworths and again very ordinary.

Considering when the cruise was originally listed we were advised that a smorgasbord meal would be served, I ask did we get value for money on the meals. I think not……( We did pay a considerable price for the cruise)

Considering business of your style is very competitive I think there should be a great deal of higher focus toward the customer service and product that is delivered.

Forwarded for your information and response

Australia Day Cruise Disaster – NOT RECOMMENDED - This cruise gets one star because there is nothing lower. entire top deck was booked out to a private party leaving hundreds of other passengers to crowd onto the lower deck with nowhere near enough seating, the food was completely misrepresented in the advertisement - do not be fooled by the promise of a bbq and delicious desserts- smoking is allowed outdoors on both decks of the boat leaving no escape from the stench, the boat was so overladen with passengers the engines struggled to move the boat and the drinks were heinously expensive ( a plastic cup of coke $4). The man who seemed to be in charge of the boat spent the entire trip upstairs pandering to 3 or 4 passengers, getting their drinks and food while the extremely understaffed boat struggled to cope with the burden of too many passengers. The greatest disappointment was that we booked to spend the day on the Harbour as a family but my husband and son stood in one corner, one daughter found a seat somewhere else and I sat on the ground with my other daughter at the back of the boat. DISGRACEFUL!!

What is advertised is not what you get – Like a previous reviewer we booked the Australia Day Cruise in Sydney. Every point the previous reviewer stated was exactly our experience. you missed out on the food. There was not enough food for all on board and we basically got a few scrapes which were not worth eating. (My knife broke trying to cut the meat). Desert was a small lammington and a biscuit. These would have been bought from a supermarket. It was not the advertised desert. When I asked the staff why wasn't there enough food the answer was 'people took more than they should have'.

What concerned me most was they never checked the names of who was boarding so in the case of an emergence they would not have known who boarded the boat. Not even a head count was taken.

Dodgy Bros Afloat "Australia Day Cruise" – We have been on a number of occasions with different companies for special event cruises on Sydney Harbour. All of these previous ones have been excellent value for money. On this occasion we decided on “Afloat Cruises Australia Day Day Cruise” operated by "Afloat Cruises International Pty Ltd" for a new experience. The cost was $180 for adults,… Read more

$140 for children. Dress was "smart casual".

The cruise was advertised as 4 hours with a “BBQ buffet Lunch”. You were to be “greeted with a champagne cocktail on arrival”.

Upon booking you received instructions to be at Casino Wharf by 9:15am for check in, boarding at 10:15am, departure at 10:30am. You were told to arrive early “as Afloat Cruises always depart on time”.

We arrived at 9am and there was no signage or obvious representative of the company. We sat on the fence above the wharf and waited.

Check in there were no signs and only had a person with no identification or signage to represent the company and who had a very aggressive attitude, walking around in a very disorganised manner.

The boat did not arrive until 10:30 and could not berth, as there was another function boat at the wharf. This meant we did not board until 10:45 and departure near 11am. They blamed this on the other cruise, but if the “MV Supercat “ were on time, there would not have been a problem!

We were ushered on board like cattle, and this was a nightmare to behold. The “Supercat” is an old ferry, with a low ceiling. There is a downstairs area, with a small open viewing area at the bow. The upstairs area was restricted to “A private function”. The enclosed area had plastic seats lined back to back up the centre, and also lined on each side. There was a large bar on the right, with a very small area for a buffet at the end. Approximately a third was for a DJ and dance floor area. It was not air conditioned.

The “Supercat” is licensed for 300, and the advert stated that the cruise would be limited to 200 passengers per cruise. “This is done so that you, our guests are assured a fantastic view of all that this beautiful harbour can offer from the water in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere”. It was admitted by a crew member that "there were 300 on board, including the private function upstairs".

If you were lucky enough, you could be at the open area of the bow. This held approximately a maximum of 20 people seated, with another 10 to 15 squeezed in standing. If you left, you needed another to protect your spot. The inside area was very crowded and stuffy, especially when you had around 80 people queued for the "buffet" and another queue at the bar.

It was advertised “upon boarding, be greeted by a champagne cocktail”. This meant you had to queue at the bar for a plastic disposable cup of a red sparkling drink, with no hint of alcohol.

The "buffet" was on the website as “Assorted Cocktail Sliders, Seafood Platter, BBQ Beef Fillet, Fettucine Florentine, Seafood Linguine, BBQ Sausages, American Potato and Crispy Bacon Salad / Classic Caesar Salad and Bread Rolls. Complete your dining experience with an assorted Cake Slice Platter may include Brownie, Chocolate Mud Cake, Passionfruit Slice, Tiramisu, and variety of Cheese Cakes served with Tea and Coffee.”

What you received was an approximately 8 feet long buffet serving 300 people by a staff member. On offer were a small platter of frozen peeled shrimp, and approximately 3 small platters of other food. You then had to return for a small plate with a piece of pork or cold meat, and tomato pasta salad. Dessert included a lamington finger or Arnotts Scotch Finger Biscuit.

“As always, there will be a cash bar on board with some great drinks specials to top off your afternoon in the harbour.” This meant drinks at above the price of the nearby Casino! For example $10 for a small bottle of beer.

Overall, this was a disaster with a number of statements being falsely advertised by the operators, and you should definitely go to one of the reputable operators.

Terrible, rubbish, we feel cheated – We went on the NYE cruise from Perth advertised as all inclusive boutique beers, wine and spirits. What we got was quite different. We arrived on board the ship by stepping over the gap in the jetty and the boat, no proper walkway. I immediately needed the toilet as I went aboard and discovered a toilet with black muddy floor and toilet paper… Read more

on floor, we were then told the drinks tab would not start for 45min and would have to pay for them (this after the high price tag) when the bar did open there was a half an hour wait to get to the bar (probably because the boat was overloaded with people) at which time we were told the premium beer was carlton cold, the wine did not include red wine and the spirits only included vodka or budaburg rum. The boat did not show the fireworks and it did not do a new year eve countdown. We were so disappointed in this cruise and would recommend you don't waste your time and money.

Don't waste your money – After reading some of the other reviews, there's not much more I can add. It was absolutely pathetically organised. I tried calling them for 2 weeks prior and could only get an answering machine. I also sent multiple emails prior to the cruise and I'm still waiting for a response. Don't believe what's stated on their website that you can cancel or transfer to another cruise. My advice, don't waste your money with this company.

they said because its 7.20pm you need to pay for your drinks what the they said the drinks packaged starts at 7.30pm ok then I be back at 7.30pm, once it was 7.30 bloody hell the bar was packed it took over 30 mins to be able to get a drink there was food out & it was like hmm go to get some chips out of the bowl and they were stale come on guys..... We had to unpack the chairs our self's & there was no tables and there wasn't enough chairs I was like please get better. Then the young guy making the food omg your got to be kidding no gloves handling chicken then fish then mushroom ball and then sandwiches no washing of hands come on where is his food handling cert: the food was disgusting wasn't eating that.

By 9.30pm everyone seemed to be happy as no one could change it until 10.00pm the bar ran out of ice, pepsi-coke your got to be joking the bar guys said sorry there's nothing we can do but we have vodka fine ill have a vodka and raspberry they go to poor it and said sorry we are out of lemonade your f kidding me fine ill have vodka and club squash that was nasty everyone was getting very mad at the bar guys I went back up to the bar and asked if there was another boat coming with coke and they said yes we are meeting up with the second boat to get soft drink and I said ice they said no ok at least we were getting something but it didn't help the drinks were hot and disgusting the beer and apple cider were warm no one was happy every one was getting annoyed then we found out the first boat there was 212 people on the second boat there was 80 people no wonder we ran out of everything we were over crowded way to many people than the other boat. For an event that has been running for years this should of been ran a whole lot better if you say all food and alcohol for 5 hours and you get to see 2 lots of fire works make sure you can deliver you should have this down pattern by now but I guess not what a joke of a company. Afloat cruises no go... There's so much more to say but ill be here for hours... Everyone should get half there money back....

with style into 2018..... and an exclusive crowd'

From beginning to end this was a chaotic shemozzle

• an amazing one-of-a -kind experience?! no one knew what was going on

• the captain was rude and uninviting stating he was only chartered by the company and he had nothing to do with the running of the function on board. We had two options get off now as others had done and fight for refund or stay and stop grumbling to him, take it up with the company. Life jackets at the front, toilets at the back and stay out of his view. OMG no afloat representative on site??

• Relax on Board - overcrowded even with 30 people not coming aboard. Nowhere to sit or stand comfortably. Boat was old, dirty and disgustingly run down. When it took off it blew into the cabin thick diesel smoke from the engines and then the DJ started the smoke machine at the same time.... a fiasco

• 5 hour complimentary package

Open Bar - haha haha - a bloody joke

- drinks? - 45 mins wait for first drink and allowed as many as you could carry diluted to water and payment for some drinks??!!!

- drinks? - 35 mins wait for second drink and allowed only one as running out of alcohol

- drinks? - 25 mins wait for third drink and girl in front of me was the last allowed 4 drinks then only two allowed after the boat had only stocked up on alcohol as enough hadn’t been catered for in the first instance

Cocktail style dining - gourmet !!!!! - haha haha - a bloody joke

- Food? - nothing came out to be served for a while but the table beside had a full plate on there's

- then came the dry bread with a huge big bowl of dip stuck in the middle.... help yourself to spread on the dip, with one hand occupied with the drink you had just salvaged after 45mins from the bar??!!

- Food? the food was crap pure crap ….minced chicken, greasy crap, jalapeno balls of sawdust???

- you know the age demographic and serve sushi to 50 to 60+ just doesn't cut it, we were starving

- the seating arrangements were badly arranged and insufficient …. too close to DJ and only 4 cocktails tables and as many chairs for potentially 148 people???!!!!

• Enjoy beautiful sunset from the luxurious outdoor decks

- the back deck had the smoke bellowing from the engine room, people standing single file eating food and along side a line for the toilets. After a short time the toilets where disgusting and felt like the contents where meeting us couldn't get the toilet roll out then the cover fell off on top of me. Exiting the toilet was just as risky in case you hit any of the people standing single file?!?

- the front deck was for smokers

- the inside middle deck had the DJ's smoke machine bellowing away with rap 'f u' worded music at 90 thousand decibels

- it was like the rocky horror show

- my friend bought x4 tickets (after me) to surprise her overseas mum and dad guests almost a $1000 for to finish up falling down an opening from a (poorly secured) manhole cover and potentially be critically or even worse fatally injured

• Marvel at the fireworks?!

- the 9pm fireworks - did they happen??

- the 12md fireworks - happened after resuscitating my friend who had fallen down a hole in the dance flow and stopped breathing due to shock of looking straight in to the bowels of the boat. She had a pulse when I quickly grabbed her jump suit and positioned her in the recovery position and with airway opened she was breathing again (where was the boat first aiders - did anyone hold a first aid ticket?)

- the 12md fireworks - the first 20 to 30 smokers on the front deck maybe

• Turn your NYE's party into a 'family friendly' (no no no no no) one of a kind experience (a hell like experience and too late to gain entry anywhere else) and sail with style (no style just dirty dinghy unorganised chaos) into 2018 and an exclusive crowd (the only exclusive thing ever about this debacle was the Price tag $399 to $199) wasn't worth 5 cent

• At full capacity $30,000 to $60,000 (depending on what people paid) would have been collected in ticket sales, where was our night out?

and ...... a Happy New Year to you too I am sure your NYE was indeed exclusive!!!!

the limited food we’re also observed eating the food, when approached they replied “ we are just hired staff” didn’t care, two bar staff coped the brunt of everyone’s disappointment with the very limited availability of alcohol ( no red wine, 2 choices of beer at a time, vodka , gin and 1 other sport , 1 white wine) and this was an open bar !!!!! The male bar person worked his guts out . The poor DJ couldn’t run his lights whilst playing music as if he did the fuses would blow! He did a great job under stressful circumstances , didn’t see any 9 pm fire works and position of boat for midnight did not support a good view, there was no build up to a countdown , toilets overflowing, the company were lucky the crowd to make the most of a bad situation , some passengers did ask to be returned to the ward and were refused , overall an absolutely disgusting set up for money spent STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!!!

$500 a ticket and that was at a discount price. As there was four of us we paid $2000 for what we thought was going to be an outstanding night having read the description advertised! However it was quite the opposite, the food to start with was very poor and there was only enough for half the people on the boat and there wasn’t even paper plates to put your food on you had to use your hand or if you were lucky enough you got a napkin! The drinks package was an absolute disgrace....They ran out of everything I had one glass of Sauvignon blanc white wine and went to get a refill to be told there was none left, I went on to ask for absolute vodka to be told I had to pay for...I was given a different type of vodka and took one mouthful and it tasted like I was drinking the water from the harbour we were sailing on it was not drinkable..the boat was from 7pm until 1am this should not have happened they should have been able to cater for everyone on board as there was easily over 100 people on board who all paid a lot of money!! Anyone we spoke to on board were all complaining of the same thing!! The only Good thing about the night was the view of the fireworks, the DJ’s music and the company we brought ourselves. It really was a HUGE expensive let down!

Horrific experience – Horrific experience, 100% false advertising, barely any food, warm beers, poor service and some very rude staff, vile toilets that weren’t refreshed or cleaned, huge queues for the bar and toilet, and the boat even managed to find a spot on the river where we couldn’t see the fireworks, quite laughable really, don’t waste your money, you’ll have a much better night if you stay at home.

Waste of money – 2017 NYE cruise in Perth, total misleading in what you actually receive. Will never ever book or recommend anyone to these people. New Years absolutely Terrible. Never Again – Firstly it took forever to check in. The boat needs major upgrading very old and almost falling apart. If it wasnt for the music and disco lights the experience would have been even worse. Absolutely a waste of time and money.
