Horrible mattress and after sale service – Very disappointed for paying 3500dollars and get a such horrible mattress. Feel sunk into it and nothing supported under hip just a few weeks after purchased. The retailer insisted it need to be rotating, keep our claim delayed for a year. mattress for a year. The sulotion they did is cut those units off and replace them, which is ridiculous because the gel layer is a whole piece, but they chose to cut a hole for repairing? Shocking. Never buy A H beard again.Definetly not recommend.

night suffering from a sore shoulder caused by being a side sleeper; also when I need to get up in the wee small hours for a loo stop (every night) that I fall off to sleep again almost straight away. My husband is now able to sleep on his side without his arm experiencing pins & needles which woke him up, he can also now sleep on his back without snoring. It was lovely and cool in the summer, but is equally lovely and warm now it is winter. We follow the recommendation for the mattress that you turn it top to bottom every four weeks and so far there is no noticeable dip in the gel layer.

Having said that we would want people to be aware that the mattress is extremely heavy - I cannot turn it around by myself, and find it extremely difficult lifting it just a little to tuck anything into the end of the bed. (I am 71 but not at all frail). Also, the bed is very high (not good for short people), the mattress is so thick through that I found it very difficult to get bedding for it, fitted bed sheets for a Queen Bed work okay, as long as they have a 40 or 45 cm drop, but to find a bedspread that fits from the floor on one side across the mattress to the floor on the other side was nigh on impossible. I ended up buying the only one that would do the job (a King size one on a Queen bed - it is still off the floor on the far side but this is not seen), which wasn't what I really wanted. Maybe a valance around the base and a large duvet would work but I knew we would not be able to move the mattress off the base to put the valance on due to its size and weight.

But we are enjoying a warm, comfortable nights sleep - so good it is difficult to get out on these cold mornings. The difficulty actually dressing the bed is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 - the mattress itself would get a 5.

It's all about what's under it. Great mattress when combined with a Posture Slat Bed Base – We went thru three mattresses and nearly discarded our Beard Gel mattress because they sagged. We don't have mattress base just a slatted box for the mattress to fit in. Think classy wooden furniture box really just a set with wooden cross slats. Posture Based Vaiable tension bed base. We bought the Italian one.

Think two single structure side by side for our king size bed box frame, so each person can tailor the tension to their comfort.

Gamble spending $1,600 to protect the $3,500 we also spent on the Beard Gel bed.

Being able to vary the tension on the arched springy struts (see comfort shop or somewhere like that for pictures) meant all the difference.

The bed is magnificent and the Gel in a hot climate, well think so cooling to sleep on.

We are big solid people and four years on no sag so far.

Would buy we one again?

Provided we had the variable pressure rack underneath it.

Also have no doubt we discarded some good mattresses because we didn't find this solution earlier.

Mind you love the cool Gel.

Wonder how many extra mattresses the manufacturers sell because the underneath isn't supported well enough?

two adults could not lift it onto the bed. Unfortunately I did not try and lift the mattress in the store.

Initially the mattress was fantastic and I remember my partner saying it was like sleeping on clouds.

Unfortunately this sensation has long gone and after 3 years of sleeping on this mattress, it has become the most uncomfortable mattress I have slept on and I am now researching new mattresses. The next mattress I buy will definitely not be an AH Beard mattress.

There is a lump in the middle of the mattress

I feel like I am sleeping on a lean.

One of the sides of the pillow top is compressed and has been since delivery.

I am so disappointed that I paid $3500 for a mattress that was awesome when I tested it in the store to now being something I want to throw out.

My advice is to never buy an AH Beard Flexgel mattress and research as much as you can before purchasing a mattress.

rang AH Beard. We were still under warranty as we had had the matress around 6 months and it is a 10 warranty. AH Beard did not return our calls at first. Finally we got a sales person out and his advice was to put the mattress on the floor to sleep on it. A $2000 mattress! I told him that was ridiculous. After much to and throwing, dealing with rude after sales service and a call to Fair Trading they finally replaced the mattress. Guess what? After a couple of months the same thing happened. The mattress sunk in the middle. We are both busy working people with kids and at that point we did not have the energy to approach AH Beard again. So the mattress at this point is on the spare bed and guests tell us it is very uncomfortable. We are sleeping on a second hand $200 mattress. Now naturally the $200 mattress has "died" and we have either take on another feud with AH Beard or go and get another mattress. I am disgusted and would never buy through AH Beard again. Don't touch their products.
