Your flight may be cancelled for no reason and no refund – My return flight to the US was cancelled at the last moment and as told by the airline representatives to take a bus to catch my flight in Auckland in 6 hrs, had to rent a car for $350 and air New Zealand has not refunded a dime since November 24 2018 although after 6hrs on the phone they ageeed to . Very chancy to buy a ticket from them since they are so unscrupulous

Don't do it! – We had the unfortunate experience of flying air australia from melbourne to Phuket and back in January 2012. Bought tickets for Strategic in May 2011 full price for full service on advice from friends. They changed to Air australia and informed us that we would still get full service even though they were now a budget carrier. It was horrible from the first moment. Dirty smelly plane with broken seats that moved about. Nothing that worked including the staff. Third world conditions which we had to endure with a small baby. No safety inspection of the cabin before take off or landing. Worse was still to come as we had to fly back with them over night, third world conditions in the cold and dark, yes the lights don't work. Turkish staff with transvestite makeup who don't answer buzzers or pretend they don't understand english. I was so concerned for our safety and if something should happen no one would help. Today a friend returned from Phuket having attended the some wedding we did and we picked them up. They were so distress from their Air Australia flight as there was a medical emergency and my friend was the only medical person onboard. As I suspected the staff were useless, if anything they were a hinderance to her as she tried to help. Paramedics were there on arrival for this poor man but god only knows how lucky he was my friend was on board as these staff had no idea.

I can only stress that this airline has a problem and it will be only a matter of time before something bad really happens. I have emailed them three times with my concerns and demanding some sort of compensation for our ordeal, but as yet have to receive a reply. It was a direct flight to Phuket Everything. great budget airline – Air Australia is a great airline obviously you get for what you pay for but they are far better then flying with jetstar, probably about the same average as virgin in regards to having to purchase things on board. The flights have been refurbished since they have re branded and if you pre purchase the hot meals then there is no room for disappointment. Most of the reviews i have read about them are obviously from people that dont expect a budget airline but for prices from about $800 return to hawaii good luck finding anyone else. great prices budget airline
