slips and are in the process of ordering 38 new reels for the new slip positions at a cost of approximately $400 per reel. The order will total $15,200. Because of their failure to simply provide a replacement bracket, we will not place any future orders with this company.

The reels aren’t like the domestic types you get from Bunnings that are inferior and overpriced for what you’re actually getting. AK Reels are industrial grade and far out perform anything else on the market.

have to pull at the hose several times to get it to lock. The retraction system is poor as it doesn't have a guide that can place the hose in the right way as to avoid it bunching in one area causing retraction to stop. The unit looks nice and is compact however the casing for 20 metres of hose is far too small and it never retracts fully and takes several attempts pulling out hose and retracting to eventually get the hose to fully retract. I often have to push the hose in to assist with the last metre or two.

The small length of hose it comes with and attaches to the unit is a special fitting and is crimped onto the hose. The issue I have here from experience with Pope hoses is that eventually this crimping will fail. You would have to order a new length of small hose and reattach as opposed to just attaching another generic hose fitting like most other products.

The overall build quality seems good but after using for several months now I have moved to my front yard which gets minimal watering and purchased a Gardena wall mounted manual hose reel which can take easily 30 metres of hose and is much easier to use and can be retracted very quickly and guided neatly with your hand.

Hose doesn’t retract – The hose doesn’t retract. Contacted AK reels and dealt with such a rude person (John)with no idea on the product. Top quality Aussie made hose & reel – A great Aussie made reel with an equally top quality Aussie made hose. I have had this reel and hose for a few years now. Much better than the imported one which tend to fail before the end of summer! Excellent after sales service. I am moving house soon, and will be buying another 2 reels for my larger property!

The Product quality is great but the hose will not fully retract always leaving 2m+ exposed – The 20m hose does not fully retract leaving 2-3m of hose exposed. There is too much hose on the 20m reel and it is not able to retract it all on. I think the 15m hose would work fine as there is less hose to get jammed up when coiling. to purchase the easy hose. I bought the 20m hose paying $279.

As soon as the product arrived I immediately thought something was wrong. The hose would not fully retract all the way. I was told by easy hose that you need to de-pressurise the hose before retracting it. I tried this method and it still would leave hose exposed depending on how it decided to coil.

I sent the hose back at my own expense to AK reels. They were helpful. They said they re-tentioned the reel and lubed the hose with silicone grease and sent it back to me.

I received the hose back and it still leaves 2-3m of hose out of the reel. So my $279 now cost $305 and doesn't work properly. Unfortunately i would have been happier with the cheaper Hoselink which I have previously owned.

Quality Australian product, great company to deal with, quick delivery – Great quality hose reel & trigger spray for the garden. Even better - we were able to order it online this time and have it shipped to us at a fairly reasonable price. - It got to us in around a week. And it is Australian Made - which is very very important to us all.

We had purchased our own ‘Easyhose' Garden reel approx 4 maybe 5 years ago after years of buying hoses that just did not seem to work to the standard we expected or needed. To this day our ‘Easyhose' Reel is as good as the day we bought it. We would never buy any other brand again. Yes, you may pay a bit more for these reels, but then you get longer life out of them too. Not to mention peace of mind & a LOT less frustration when they don’t work or last as long as you expect.

Hence, the decision was easy when purchasing for mum. We are a bit jealous as mums hose came - now with brass fittings. So we might have to get another one for ourselves too.

I highly recommend this product. Seriously you will not be disappointed if you are wanting a top quality, strong, sturdy and reliable Hose Reel that stands the test of time.

we've been using it for three weeks I can say it genuinely is. Top quality materials, well made and simple to mount on the wall. The casing pivots to wherever you need the hose to go which is a huge plus for us and makes retracting easy. Proud to buy Australian made and proud that we won't have to buy any more hoses for a very long time!

A Genuine Australian made retracting garden hose reel – I have been looking for a new retracting garden reel and happened to mention it to a friend over Christmas. He told me about his reel which he has had for nearly 10 years. Turns out it is an Australian made and owned company called AK Reels.
