Cheap plastic, handles broke off - got another one second hand so we could still use the batteries. Handles broke off that too. The warranty isn't worth the paper its written on as the supplier doesn't honour it. Don't make the mistake of thinking its a bargain. Show details
Bad experience – Won't start up even after checking that the batteries are fully charged up and the safety contact switch are all okay. I bought 2 of these mowers and they both failed Show details
Battery mowers are the way to go – Purchased this product over 5 years ago Still going strong on the original batteries and charger. I would recommend this product. I have never had a problem with Aldi battery products. Show reply
Mower battery lasts 15min – Have an Aldi mower, takes 2 days to mow lawn because batteries die after 15mins. Have 2 20ah batteries. Jolly nuisance Show details
Never again – Batteries do not last even on a small lawn. Doesn’t cope with average length lawn. Battery charger died at 15 months; just out of warranty. Typical Avoid at all costs. Very dissatisfied. Show details
Does not start – Used only once per month on a tiny lawn over last 18 months, and now refuses to go. I'm left with a hunk of plastic and metal - so much for trying to go 'green'. Show details
My third electric mower – A ride-on needs maintenance like a car and isn't suitable for quick trims around the tight spots, so we bought an Aldi push mower, then replaced that with an Aldi petrol line trimmer. All petrol tools are noisy and oily and our Gardenline manual mower locks up on tough grass, too much effort, so we bought our first electric line trimmer from cash… Read more · 2
converters and followed that with Aldi Gardenline corded electric. These tools are OK to use but cutting wet grass while dragging a 240 Volt AC extension cord felt awkward and sometimes dangerous. Aldi XFINITY plus battery powered tools seemed to be well priced and specifications similar to other brands. We bought the $200 electric mower with line trimmer. It includes one battery charger and 2x20volt 2.0Ah batteries. The 2 batteries are used at the same time in the mower which means it will take over 2 hours to recharge both, the line trimmer uses one battery. It rained for a few days, then we used the mower and realised the system is unworkable with only 2 batteries and one charger. We went to Aldi to buy a couple of extra batteries and an extra charger, but one week later Aldi was sold out. Aldi didn't restock with batteries or chargers, so we had to look elsewhere. Autobarn were selling a compatible charger, so we bought it. Now we had two chargers and two batteries. Now we can Mow the public nature strip then put both batteries on charge. Then an hour later we do another mow. Mowing is 15 mins and charging is 60 mins, so there is a bit of waiting involved.
The battery electric mower is very good, but to make it great there is a requirement have two chargers and multiple pairs of batteries.
More recently we purchased two additional 20volt 4.0Ah batteries. We also replaced a charger that blew it's flashing LED. We also bought a Ferrex drill which included a battery and charger after being surprised to find the Aldi reciprocating saw we had purchased didn't have a battery or charger.
Today, one of the battery chargers developed a faulty LED. So two of our battery chargers have had this problem.
Our total investment on Aldi Gardenline XFINITY tools is over $600 and we don't have enough batteries.
The under carriage is port painted and induces rust, the powered wheels don’t get grip on damp grass – Given the traction problem and undercarriage rust with improvements this mower would be a big hit A spare battery and easier support access for parts A direction to dealerships for repairs useful Show details
Good for small areas – Great for small areas but would recommend buying extra batteries, otherwise you are looking at a fortune when Aldi doesn’t have them. (I get three quarters of my sidewalk done before batteries die). Easy to handle and light weight. Other than the short battery life, I Iove it. Show details
Perfect for small area – We have half an acre with plenty of trees so ride-on is out of the question, hence I have 2 petrol mowers: 190cc Subaru and 140cc Gardenline depending on grass height and terrain. 190 is quite a heavy beast but great for tall grass and heavy going. I also have a powerful, professional grass multi-purpose trimmer. Wife loves gardening but has… Read more
health issues so can't and must not handle the big stuff, but we do have a couple of smaller areas which I find a pain using the big mowers. So she got herself the Aldi 2x20V battery mower+ Grass trimmer for $200. Sure the batteries run out within 30 minutes, but who cares in our case. The mower is height adjustable, easy to handle, easily stored, uncomplicated and does an excellent job on the smaller areas and Its lightweight means my wife gets some fresh air and exercise gardening that she enjoys as well as fulfillment without causing her injury. The Trimmer is no match for the hard stuff either but with patience it does the edging job it's meant for. She's over the moon... Loves it ! As for durability... seems to be pretty well made for purpose but time will tell like anything else, nothing lasts forever and like with most things, a lot depends on how you use/abuse them. A case of "fit for purpose".
Waste of time and money – I've been wanting an electric mower for some time. Thought this mower and trimmer for $200 at Aldi was so worth it! However I'm extremely disappointed in the mower. Haven't even tried the trimmer, but will be returning. Hardly get 15 minutes of mowing before both batteries are gone. Idk if they just overheat on the mower in the full QLD sun, but… Read more
they're VERY hot when I take them off the mower. First time I thought it was just me, but then fully charged both units and went again, only for the same result... It mows pretty well with the catcher, but the batteries are far too small. Tried without the catcher, but doesn't mulch very well.
