ALDI Air Nail & Staple Gun

Waste of money – Opened the gun after 2 years of owning and doesn't fire nail or staples. Air bypasses and hammer doesn't retract. This tool is useless.
Aldi Ferrex air nail staple gun frustrations – The product started out well however after about 200 nails it started to have multiple issues. The terms I'm using aren't correct but I hopefully sufficient to describe the issues. The magazine area has a solid rail that staples straddle and nails slot into. This has not been an issue. The magazine has a housing that unclipped and slides down to allow nails and staples to be inserted against the rail and inside the housing is a U shaped pusher on top of a spring that forces the nails/staples up. The housing constantly comes unclipped when firing so every 3rd or so nail I fire had the housing fling open and nails fall out. The U shaped pusher distorted and pushed over the nails jamming the whole magazine up. I had to dismantle and beat the pusher closed so it was back to a U from a V. The gun is powerful enough for all my uses however the firing pin puts large dents in the material. I've used more expensive finishing guns that don't push past the muzzle of the gun and leave dents. I guess the product is okay if you know how to diagnose issues and self rectify but the magazine flinging open is still annoying me. As an entry level gun it's doing the job but it'll be a bottom drawer back upwhen I can afford an upgrade. The gas ejection isn't hard on the ears.
Rubbish – I had one for about a week and staples kept getting stuck I returned it and asked for full refund instead of refund they sent me new one no refund again it not working staples and nails getting stuck load off sh****
Purchased in at Aldi for $90.
1 nail use – read the manual shot one nail in and it blew a seal. returned for my money back
Purchased in at ALDI for $39.99.
Dubious design quality – Brought this when in WA visiting family in 2019 but just got a need to use it. It fell apart internally after only about 100 nails. Took it apart and found that the steel nail driver had stripped the thread out of the aluminum driver piston. I will not give up so I am waiting for some ally rod to make a new piston as I doubt spares are available. If it fails again it's in the bin. I am in the UK by the way.

UPDATE 13th January 2021. New piston made out of what appears to be hard drawn aluminium rod and it now works and whacks in nails generally reliably. I have done hundreds now. The only problem so far observed since I repaired it is that it does not like the maximum length 50 mm nails. As it gets near to the end of the clip the nail feed jams but I can clear it OK. It would appear that the original piston material is as soft as butter. Lubrication is a problem. As they say in the instructions-- don't use mineral oil to squirt into the air inlet as it could effectively become a diesel engine and presumably blow up. I used some silicone oil. Also you should put a drop or two on the driver hammer to keep it oiled. It's a goodun now.
