No software updates – It's pretty crappy that Tempo do not have any more software updates on this TV. Any current glitches (like tv turning off when switching to certain channels) cannot be fixed. Grrrr Show details
ALDI Bauhn 50" 4K Ultra HD TV died after only 4 years of light use!!! :( – Our TV worked fine until today when the screen went black and then there's now a little ball of colour on the bottom right corner and wavey lines across the top and down the middle of the screen. I'm Not Satisfied with this TV only lasting 4 years!!! :( Our old Samsung HD 42" Plasma TV worked great for 12 years and still was fine when we replaced it with this ALDI Bauhn 50" 4K Ultra HD TV!!! GREAT BUDGET TV – Got it second hand/friend upgrading, I find it to be a great tv, great colour. Its slow to start ,( i guess thats a "SMART " TV)Have a TCL, but this seems to have better colour reproduction. results was amazing. I'd also connected Google Chrome on one of the HDMI port and uses it on all programs, from YouTube to Netflix to Stan. All produces crystal clear picture. So I give this TV 4 out of 5 stars. Oh forgot to mention, the remote can also start and stop all programs (DVD, Google Chrome, and USB) running. It also detects HDMI firing up ie whilst watching tv and you decide to watch YouTube, it just switches automatically. Plenty of little delightful tricks on the remote. But one thing I missed is the auto timed start of the TV. However, is not a big issue since you can stream what you missed these days and can stream them later on.
Complicated set up procedure, recorded files are difficult to find, recorded TV can't be played elsewhere – Not sure if this is what it means by Smart TV. experiments to master how to setup scheduled recording. (2) The recorded files are muddled with a lot of unnecessary folders which look similar to the playable files. When we accidentally clicked into those unnecessary folders, they are empty but if we pressed "return", it went right back to "c" - the very entry to USB folder. Very annoying sequence. (3) The recorded files are in .ts format. That is fair enough but it can't be played on other devices such as laptop or Android. The other devices reported that the files are corrupted. These .ts files are intentionally corrupted by this TV. It totally defeats our intention. If we have known these problems, we wouldn't buy this TV. The HDR seems to be less clear than the other brands seen in Harvey Norman or other stores.
Wow! Seriously impressed by this TV – This is the 58" 2019 Nov. version (Black Friday) with HDR. This is not a smart TV but if you are planning on connecting the TV to any smart box set then it does not matter. Seriously, the picture quality is comparable if not better than other big brand names (e.g Hisense r7 and Samsung NU8000) - I was particularly impressed with how it handles blacks and grey colours. The TV comes with two remote controls (1 normal and 1 quick remote) but I am using a Logitech universal remote instead which is fully compatible with this TV. Sound quality is not great, as expected, but if you use a soundbar or sound system then it does not matter. The look of this TV is also good, not amazing, but just good. The legs are thin and made out of metal which is a nice touch but the plastic frame of the TV is glossy, in my opinion, looks a bit cheap. All things considered, this TV is excellent value, you are getting a 58 inch TV with 4K HDR capabilities and great picture quality for $444.
Edit: after a couple of days using this TV I am still very impressed. One thing that surprised me is that it seems to be streaming and playing video content in Dolby Vision on Netflix and Itunes on the Apple TV. My previous TV did not have Dolby Vision capabilities so the 4K content always showed as playing in 4K. However, with this TV it shows, on both Netflix and iTunes, that it is playing content in 4K Dolby Vision...wow! I also noticed that in some movies with dark colour scenes (e.g. the Martian) the colours and blacks look amazing. However, sometimes the blacks look a bit too overpowering. This can be mitigated by personalising the picture contrast, saturation and brightness is the menu.

Ultra reliable still going strong – Bought this in August 2015.it has been great. Has 4k tech and ultra hd plus ARC audio. It's included apps are now out of date but I use a 4k fire stick for streaming. Picture is sharp. For a 65inch that was half the price of the nearest brand it has been incredible. It's still going strong after 4 years – We bought this TV purely because it was on sale, and figured we'd get a year or two out of it before buying a better one. when we try and change channels and volume quickly. The picture is fine. We don't use it for 4k content. Only streaming and FTA. But the 4K streaming content looks great. We had smaller version of the TV that failed, but that was used as a CCTV monitor, so no surprise the power board failed. I'm now looking at the 75" 2022 version as an upgrade purely so I can connect headphones via Bluetooth and not via the 3.5mm jack.

one under normal conditions. The sound is bearable but the weakest link: very few TVs really have decent sound, but it is slightly below average even then. Also the headphone jack sound is terrible but I never use it. I connect a hifi whenever possible so don't really consider these an issue. 6 years ago it replaced a tv that died twice in 12 months. I feel I have already got my moneys worth and have no inclination to replace it any time soon.

terrible. It was half the price of a SONY, however lasted just over 4 years. I suspect the panel is fine however the quality of the electronic components are sub standard. I will not buy another ALDI TV and have stopped buying their electronic products. Food is great and other general items are fine. Pay a little more and buy a decent TV to avoid sending it to the tip.

Lasted 2 years before losing picture. ATV50UHD-1219 – Purchased Aldi in Feb 2020. No real complaints until losing screen just recently. Shortest life of any TV I've owned. So off to landfill, I will not purchase another one.

Not happy – Sound stopped working after hardly any use. Wasn't happy obviously. Just out of warranty. It's a shame because for a cheap unit the picture was actually ok. Wouldn't buy one again of course though.

unit has had probably the equivalent of 6 months use as it is in a holiday house .it’s not fit for the purpose it for which it was purchased .
Failed soon after warranty expired – Bauhn 65” 4K UHD LED LCD SmartTv. MADE IN CHINA. The capacitors on the internal Power Printed Circuit Board “Popped” The components seem to be deliberately rated to fail. Some of the soldering to the board very amateurish and shows signs of rework at the Chinese factory. The Remote Alpha / Numerical key board has never worked. I now know why it was cheap. Show details

As others mentioned this is not a smart tv – This picture quality is the only good thing about this TV. The rest is poor including sound not sinking with video. The smart apps either don't work or crash. Netflix cannot load from the installed web browser. what a disappointing experience this tv has been. you are lucky its no longer for sail. Show details

Don't buy, spend a bit more money – Tv randomly stops working and shuts off. The apps (Netflix and YouTube) don't work very well - forever buffering, or ultimately crashing the tv. HDMI CEC doesn't work at all. Picture is ok. Support from Bauhn was very limited. If I didn't lose the receipt, I would have returned it straight away. Show details
My personal Experience – Super cheap, great picture, not smart but I just mention super cheap, lets be honest cheap smart you wish you had a set top box that actually worked decent over the tv.. speakers suck but again super cheap, but a cheap or my choice decent sound bar/5.1 that you can use with future purchases as well.. 2years then it blew up – Buyer beware. Our seldom used TV last only 2 years. I didn't realise they only have a 12month warranty. Quite disappointing really. Burning Plastic smell and won't do a thing. Rang support and they tell me they are not serviceable. Show details
Worked well for Aldi – It was pretty good for an aldi television and never had any problems with its quality or working. It lasted for years and was given away when moving to a new house
Cheaper but quality no different than my other Samsung – Baught black Friday deal only AUD$444. Everyone in my family happy with this TV, clear color picture, sound quality very good then also to transform it as a home theater connected with a sound bar by optical option. It's working great. Remote is very good in every aspect. TV connects easily with my Android mobile or other apple device to use Google casting advantage or YouTube. Overall it's an excellent product. Show details
Keep Away from Aldi TV's – Bought this TV in June 2018, haven't used much but after 20 months it became faulty. Repair cost doesn't worth to be spent on it. Ahhh not to mention that it has worst speakers in it... definitely need a seperate sound bar with it. Picture quality is not bad though but reliability matters. Show details

You get what you pay for – Skin tones are often all wrong ranging from purple to bright red and differs each time you watch something different. When the background is supposed to be black the picture is shadowy and looks pixelated. Speakers give tinny sound. Do not buy this brand of TV - High rate of failures! – The cheap ALDI 58” Bauhn Ultra HD TV ended up to be costly for me. I should have read the reviews on this site before buying. Furthermore, I had the same problem with the other ALDI 32” Bauhn TV, which ceased to work while still under warranty. ALDI arranged for it to be repaired. Then it was broken again within few weeks. So ALDI arranged to give me a replacement TV.
So the advice from me is not to buy this brand of TV due to unusually high rate of failures.
