Almost perfect – Assembling the bed was simple and straight forward - and very solid (provided, of course, that you put it together properly!) The only gripe I had was that some of the bolts were tapped incorrectly, so I had to rethread them (because I wasn't going to take the whole thing back for the sake of a few bolts!) If you can't assemble a bed then I suggest that you get someone to do it for you - I can only assume that poor workmanship is largely to blame for the complaints on here given how sturdy I found the bed when assembled correctly.

This is the worst bed I have ever owned – The bed frame is too large for the mattress that was sold with it in the Aldi special. The slats underneath the bed are ‘sprung’ so they have some give in them. They have popped out multiple times (from about 6 months of owning the bed). It’s a really horrible experience getting up in the night to feed a child and sitting back in your bed to have it collapse on you and said child. The mattress that was sold with the bed (63396 UB3556-CK) is just as woeful. It has a sag already and I believe some of the springs inside are busted. Called the warranty number today, Uncle Bills Australia, and was asked whether I rotate my mattress regularly. Umm within 6 months? No. Also told if the springs were broken they’d be popping out of the mattress. Also, no. Regardless because I didn’t call within 12 months there’s a big fat nothing they will do to honour a product that is clearly a piece of junk. I think this is a clear case of you get what you pay for. I don’t be buying any ‘specials’ from Aldi anymore and it’s disappointing to be contributing to landfill given the bed has only been used for around 12 months.
Disappointed – Not long after purchasing this bed the side frame cracked and the middle footing broke and wouldn’t support the bed making it sag in the middle. The footing on one side constantly slipped underneath giving it no support. Off to the dump. That’s what you get when you buy cheap beds.

Great value, top notch finish. Quick and easy to assemble – Doesn't creak or move and simple to assemble. We are very happy with this purchase. Highly recommended. We paired it with the also mattress. The instructions were simple and easy to follow.

So far so good! – So far, so good for us. The bed was purchased a week ago in desperation to not have a noisy creaky wooden bed base, and the budget was key. For $300 this bed is perfectly acceptable although it's certainly not a life long purchase. A real temporary measure. We purchased before reading the reveiws from the last run of beds too and panicked before building it up but decided to give it a go and give the designers of the thing the benefit of the doubt. The building process was indeed challenging with the center support beams running width ways not quite linking up where the screw holes are drilled in the edges. With brute force we got there. Is definitely a two man job building these beds. The slats are very thin and very narrow with the gap between them being much to wide for ultimate comfort. They are far too soft and don't offer any where enough support. Luckily for us we have a very firm, thin foam IKEA mattress so it's softer than what it was on our creaky bed with thicker, wider, closer together slats, but not terribly so. I would gladly spend an extra $50 to have thicker, wider and one or two extra slats. The materials themselves used in the construction of the bed are clearly engineered to allow for the cost, but the MDF chemical smell was overwhelming. We both felt rather awful after the first night, even with windows wide open. The windows and bedroom door have remained open for the week and it's better but still there to a degree. Have felt a bit hungover each morning and we are currently not drinking so there you go. They are my critiques of this very inexpensive bed whihh is really what you would expect when purchasing something at this price. It looks great, is allowing us to have peaceful uninterrupted sleep when we move, and so far for us, has held together fine. Am concerned by the small 60 day warranty but we shall see what happens. The main point in writing this review is to offer suggestions to Aldi in how they can improve their product, for as long time Aldi customers, this is the first centre isle purchase we have made that holds concerns for us. It is at this point in time, not up to their usual high quality standard.
