Floating Bed Base QueenTimeless and clever design! So easy to assemble and disassemble in a few minutes. I am so impressed with the quality of the workmanship and the finish which shows the Jarrah timber grain beautifully. I also love that it's made in Australia!

Floating Bed Base QueenWe purchased a Queen Rose Gum Floating Bed Base without mattress or headboard from Quokka Beds. I wanted the floating design to combat kicking my toes on bed legs or corners. The website was user friendly, and clearly stated that our bed would take 5-8 weeks to make and deliver. Communication throughout the process was clear, professional, and timely. Assembly instructions were emailed before delivery, and also came in the package. Assembling the bed was straight forward, with tool provided, and easily done by one adult, as parts were not heavy
... Read more (two of us put it together in 3 minutes). We've slept on the bed for nearly 2 months, and the build quality is solid. No creaking or bed movement, even with our 2 kids jumping on it. I'm 182cm tall/104kg and my partner used to feel any movement or hear creaking from our old bed, whenever I moved. Now we both have blissful, undisturbed rest (if the kids allow). The lifetime warranty also helps us sleep a little better. Floating Bed BaseI purchased a bed base from Quokka after comparing it against other options because it’s Australian made. Hard to come by these days! The service and communication since I purchased has been outstanding. Quokka kept me up to date on the progress of my bed base, when it was ready to be dispatched and delivered. I also appreciated the well written assembly instructions. The bed base was very easy to put together, my 3yo enjoyed helping us puts the slats in. Floating Bed BasePurchasing our bed base from Quokka online was easy. The information/video on their webpage was really good and gave me confidence that I was purchasing an excellent product. The base arrived sooner than the estimated date, was quick and easy to set up and the centre leg surports has extended the life of our mattress. Love the minimalist look, the solid timber, no creak and the light colour. I would highly recommend.

Floating Bed BaseI ordered the queen and king single timber bed frames without bed heads. I knew they are made to order and then would take awhile to get to Brisbane from Perth but thought they would be worth the wait. I had done a lot of research and really wanted low voc all wood frames as my son has allergies and asthma and I wanted a bed that would be comfortable, last a long time and easy to assemble by myself. Hardly any waste and bed made it in perfect condition. I bought a Quokka base because it's Australian made, from sustainable material, and sold at a great price. Communication with the company was timely and clear, and the bed arrived on time, delivered from WA at the time and on the day promised. It was so quick and easy to put together by myself, with the great instructions and video. I'm now sleeping sweetly on a Quokka bed base (my mattress didn't need replacing). It's solid, there's no creaking or wobbling and I'm happy with how it looks in the bedroom.

Floating Bed BaseI ordered the Rose Gum floating bed as I had read great reviews about the Quokka Beds. It was all true! The bed is a work of art. Beautifully finished and easy to assemble. Not as quickly as the videos claimed but still easy. The guarantee of " no creaking" was definitely an incentive. The ordering process was smooth and the delivery as promised in good time. I love that the company uses sustainably sourced wood and that they accept bitcoin. I thoroughly recommend a Quokka experience !

The slats on my QS bed are 4.5cm apart. The slats themselves are 9cm wide.

Hello everyone! I have a brand new Sleeping Duck QS mattress and would really love to put it on a Quokka base. Has anyone done this? I’m wary that SD 10-year warranty stipulates 2 middle-support feet as well as outside 4. Would this even be an issue? The Quokka base is the best-looking one I’ve seen, not to mention it ticks the other boxes of being Australian made and quality-driven. Would love to hear what you think.
Hi there! In fact, Sleeping Duck have confirmed with us directly that our bed base is supportive enough to withhold their warranty! Here is what they said (feel free to confirm with them too):
"I've passed this information to our engineering team and they have confirmed the structure sounds quite solid. In this case, two supporting beams are not mandatory to validate warranty as this construction and material take great force to bend. As you will be using solid timber slats that are wide enough and spaced out narrowly, as well as having a central rail and grounded support, this should have enough stability for our mattress.
I can ensure that your base complies with our warranty standard and you will be covered under 10 years."

*UPDATE:
We'd like to clarify that since early 2021 for all our KING and SUPER KING bases, we now use 2 supporting beams (centrebeams) with 4 grounded legs (2 on each beam). Our slats are also 3.5cm apart (far less than the 8cm required). This provides a firm and aerated support for the Sleeping Duck mattress, exceeding it's warranty guidelines, or any other mattress warranty we have come across too. Please get in touch for any further questions or clarifications.

What are the quokka mattresses like in comparison to a memory foam mattress ?
Hi Annie,
Our Latex Mattress is made of consistent, 100% Natural Latex. It is significantly different from Memory Foam, as they are both different materials. Although both considered to be highly durable mattress materials, Latex has a natural lifespan used as a mattress for up to 20 years, whereas Memory Foam lasts about 10 years. Latex is also more eco-friendly due to its manufacturing processes as it comes from the sap of a rubber tree, and Memory Foam generally uses more synthetic materials.
However, it is completely personal preference. Some prefer the feel and support of Latex, and some do not! The good thing is we offer a 100-Night Comfort Guarantee if you ever need to swap your Latex layers (as they are not glued together!) and you can customise your firmness from home. We also offer full returns too.
