ALDI Stirling / Harbour 80L Electric Oven Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPNs: 700805, 706138, HBROB609 and STR-5F80LAfternoon, I have the Harbour 80 litre oven which I am happy with, however do have a question regarding the baking of Pavlovas. In older ovens when you cook Pavlova to required amount you then turn oven off and let it sit in the oven over night slowly cooling down and reducing cracking etc. However it seems that modern ovens have a cooling function that means when you turn oven of fan cools it down, negating ability to have pavlova sit in slowly reducing heat overnight. Does anyone have some ideas of how to get around this cooling down issue so pavlova could just slowly coole as oven cools overnight. Your thoughts, ideas would be most welcome. Regards Ali.
I have a power switch to mine and turn the power off so the fan turns off.
Thanks John Is that a function on one of the knobs on the oven or such as switch that turns total electricity to oven off. Thanks for assistance Ali
Would anyone be dear enough to write me a step by step instructions on how to bake a cake with this oven? Preheat to 160 degrees Celsius and then bake for 40-45 minutes. I’m quite old and all this young people stuff is very hard to comprehend. I just want to make a delightful homemade cake for my granddaughters 4th birthday. Not like she’s going to remember it but still!
To bake one slice in the oven what setting is best to use? I was simply using fan forced but find it is burning around the edges with a heat setting of 160c when not quite cooked in the middle. Would appreciate some advice if possible - thank you.
Is the oven door cool to touch when on for safety around children?
Yes as its triple glass, and there a fan that will always blow over the handle section.
Is this oven self cleaning
No. A self cleaning (or pyrolytic) oven are way above this price and work by having a super heat function (about twice the maximum temperature for normal cooking) and it effectively reduces built up grease etc to ash that can be easily wiped away. BUT instructions say to remove all chrome racks etc as the super High heat (around 500 Celsius) will turn chrome a blue/black colour. Further the 'self clean' needs to be used before too much build up of grease deposits otherwise reducing this build up to ash can produce smoke and fumes in extreme situations. Not quiet the 'self clean' that some may be expecting.
How much
More than you can afford dear
I have just purchased a Harbour oven why is the fan so loud
Please confirm if Harbour electric 80 litre oven can be used as wall oven or is it solely under bench?
It can also be installed up your
Can you just sit this on the bench top
Hi there, does this oven need to be connected by an electrician or can we plug this in?
Please which way does wire rack sit in oven, (not the shelf height), but does stopper sit at front or back of oven and does the stopper sit towards top or bottom of oven. Thanks
Hi Jen, In most ovens, the guard rail (stopper) should sit at the back of the oven, facing upwards, to prevent anything from sliding backwards. If you need any further assistance please don’t hesitate to contact us on 1300 112 534 on Monday to Saturday 8:30am – 6pm.
Kind regards, Tempo
Does this need to be hardwired in or does it have a plug to just plug it into power point
They have a plug.
Can this be purchased at a store? If not, how long does it take to have it delivered to Brisbane metro and if no one is at home on the delivery date what happens?
how to turn it on
please let me know how to turn the oven on
If you don’t have a copy of the manual from the purchase provided in the box. It’s best to download the manual from the internet and or call Aldi CS Tip make sure all power points are on and the cook is set
Hi Maryla, To turn on the oven, ensure it is connected to a working power point, and that the power point is switched on. Then, you can select the cook function (the dial on the left) and adjust the temperature (the dial on the right).
You will also need to set the oven to manual mode, or else set a timer. To set the oven to manual mode, press the center button and hold for more than three seconds.
If this does not work, please please don’t hesitate to contact us on 1300 112 534 on Monday to Saturday 8:30am – 6pm.
Kind regards, Tempo
Hi can I buy this item online? Thanks
yes you can but takes around 4 weeks to have it delivered due to the lock downs. The oven is $300 and $100 delivery fee but worth the money. I had it installed and they took the old one away for an extra $100. Overall $500 was a good price and Aldi do sell good products for excellent prices. I love shopping at Aldi stores because of the good quality foods and cheap prices. The late owner of Aldi had a wonderful motto for the battling families and this makes me proud to also give Aldi my support.
Thanks and I want to buy https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/aldi-stirling-90cm-gas-glass-cooktop/q-and-a?authToken=0b5f6326-0adb-4f06-97c1-ca69723bfef5 with the oven to be same delivery at my home and will let me know how much will cost me to install them and take the old my gas cooktop is 72cm and the bench-top from timber.thanks
Does this have a 10 amp plug
No, it has 15 amp plug.
Basics are in the ad
10 amp ovens would not work properly and 15amp will cook food very good.
Hi , Are these ovens still available. Thanks.
Hi Mark, I'd probably advise against purchasing one of these ovens, after the difficulty I had with getting it fixed whilst it was still under warranty. The guy who did come to fix it already guessed what happened when he spoke to me, as this is a common occurrence apparently. The buttons are just glued onto the inside of the oven, instead of properly fixed on. Therefore, with enough usage, they tend to fall off and need professional attention to be glued on again. I am very apprehensive using any of the buttons now, knowing how delicate they are. Just my thoughts on that. But not sure if they are still being sold (this was a seasonal special at Aldi, it's not always available anyway). All the best
