Alma Tavern

Alma Hotel poor quality food – we had lunch with friends today at the Alma Hotel, Norwood, dining room was empty yet meals were very slow to arrive, the side salad consisted of nothing but lettuce in a pile not was poorly dressed and lacked flavour, my ham and pineapple pizza was tasteless, lacked toppings and 1/3 of it was inedible because it was burnt, when the waitress was questioned all she said was yes its a bit black. Given the cost of dining out these days, this is certainly something is didn't expect. I would recommend giving the Alma a miss, there are better places to dine.
Aioli with no ail or garlic or olive oil what is it? – Fish and chipswith AIOLI sauce. Questionable chef The Aioli is by definition olive oil and AIL Garlic in French. This weak mayo was unpleasant and had no garlic. I doubt any olive oil either. Horrible. My wife thought the fish flake or shark tasted strange too. I found it bland. Salad nice. Shame they can not cook fish and chips as wellas the fish and chip shop which is much chealer too.
