Reviewing the 6.5L model that is not listed yet. I advise dont buy. I buy from Aldi and the first meal went good, then next time it did not work properly and I smell it like burning plastic smell... you know, like when a circuit board seizes and then no lights at all. Take it back and Aldi honored a replacement or money back... of course I want… Read more
a replacement. Again the first meal goes well, and the second, and the third... now the drawer wont go in, so I fiddle and get it in, but lights not come on. I fiddle some more, and finally get drawer in and lights on and working fine for the minute. I must say it cooks well when working, but 2 out of 2 faulty units is not a good start. feels very flimsy compared to the old sunbeam one I had before it stopped after 4 years. Not impressed.
Fantastic product can't recommend more highly – This product is fantastic. I use it almost daily. It cooks roasts in half the time my gas oven and convection microwave oven can. The heat up time is almost instant. It draws very low power so costs almost nothing especially during summer with solar power. The only fault is the coating on the bottom tray wears off easily and the drawer can… Read more
sometimes be difficult to put back in place as it really likes to be very centre and flush when being reinserted. To combat this issue with the coating I bought silicone liner's from eBay for the bottom which is better now because the silicone cleans much easier than the metal in the dishwasher. I will be disappointed when it fails because the ease of use and the digital display on top is really well thought out and simple to navigate.
Beware! – Purchased May 2020. Used plenty of times previously with no issues. Tonight as per usual I was preheating and could smell something burning, pulled out the tray to find as per Pic 2 the element “fried”. I did use an Air Fryer Liner. Have used them before with no issue. Have double checked the safety instructions in the instruction manual and there… Read more
is no mention of not using them. I clean the unit after each use. Air Fryer now unplugged. Will report to relevant authorities.
Standing here counting my lucky stars….

Best Kitchen Appliance I've purchased in many years – Excellent Buy... My current oven was inadequate. Comparing Brands, capacity, wattage and excellent price at $89... Aldi's 5ltr Ambiano...suited my needs and budget very well... The 10 pre-programmed digital display options selector is initially hidden, but, lights up when choosing menu by pressing through options until your program is reached...… Read more
Roast Pork is ideally suited and Pork Crackle superb... with roast veges... the non stick surface and removable rack makes it super easy to clean... A slightly deeper cooking draw would be a great benefit to avoid unwrapping a stringed boneless roast... so much cheaper than a new oven...
Aldis 8 1/2 litre air fryer – The tray in the air fryer from Aldi’s Toukley is not cooking the food anything like the Phillips air fryers. The phone number in the back is were you ring for any warranty problems. And they are the rudest people on earth Linnet is abrupt and the so called manager hung up in my ear how rude especially when talking very pleasantly to her she hungs… Read more
up the phone. Don’t deal with the warranty phone number on the back of there air fryers as they are useless and rude so I’m taking this matter to fair trade. There was a part missing on the tray a rubber lug was not there & the tray is completely bent inside the fryer.
Since my divorce, this was my favorite kitchen appliance, for 6 months – Full disclosure, I am a trained technician I generally love Aldi stuff, have a coffee machine, washing machine, toaster, mower, utensils, pots, pans, towels, amazing what you need when the wife changes the locks, but my fave is the Albiano air fryer, given to me as a housewarming gift after my divorce in December 21. It was cool, but died after 8… Read more
months, there is a safety switch in the front of the base, activated by a thin fragile plastic finger in the base of the frying bowl. It wore out in 8 months. As it was a gift and had no receipt, Aldi would not repair, replace or refund the device, even as it was only 8 months old. Not like I could steal one, it is the size of a keg. Fortunately I was able come up with a repair fashioned from a piece of flexible plastic cut from the lid of a Pepsi bottle and screwed to the broken base of the fry bowl with a 3mm nut and screw. I hope that rather than planned obsolescence, this is just poor design. It also appears the handle on the bowl is also somewhat fragile. But otherwise, thermally and electrically, it Is a great appliance. I will try to attach a pic of the repair.
Contaminates your room with burnt toxic plastic fume – We bought it from ALDI. On first use, it left my whole apartment smelling like burnt plastic, very toxic. All rooms got contaminated. My family ended with headaches, dizziness and nausea just from the smell. We needed to open all windows to get rid of the plastic fume. We of course didn't even eat the food. We are concerned about getting long serious consequences after this. Show details

The purchase I never regret making – This is my first airfyer and to be honest, I wasn't quite sure if it would serve me well or it would be just another following-the-hype purchase. My friend just grabbed it and put it in my trolley while I stood there n Aldi weighing whether to buy it or not. While I was thinking, the rest of the air fryers were gone in a split second! Dint know it… Read more
was a much sought after item during Saturday Special Buy. Was just there to get cheap avo on sale. I would have regret big time if I decided not to buy it. I've stopped frying anything because this gives me the exact crunch and crisp a deep-fry would give. Even non-fat items like Coles springroll turn out crispy. Roasted a whole chicken in and oh boy, the skin was perfectly brown (you need to adjust the temp slightly lower because it will be near the coil), and the meat was just so juicy! i've in fact stopped using my oven cos I think this airfryer is more efficient in terms of timing and heat distribution. Cleaning-wise, if you have deep large sink, it will be nice. Mine is a small one so it is a bit of a challenge. We usually just wash it in the laundry sink. The trick that I use is to to always put baking sheet whenever I use it to minimize cleaning. The food still turn out perfect everytime.
Functionality VS hyped Marketing, budget fryer wins – have been waiting for the past 3 years to buy an airfryer. our friends recommended the philips air fryer. i just couldnt justify the price tag, for what is in fact a portable convection oven which it really is. What did push me into getting this was the price tag, plus having recently installed solar at home, this would be the perfect load dump… Read more

overall, quite happy with the product, great that ALDI went with an 8 L minimum sizing on this air fryer, anything smaller just wouldnt make sense in a 5 person house hold. Optimum frying, i did have to interrupt the process, to just toss the meat about, but i was surprised at how awesome the chicken fries ended up..
overall no regrets, Great price, Great value for money , a fraction of the cost of the big names in this space. and i get a 1 year warranty, Thanks ALDI for making this available to Aussie families, great work
i read a previous review about a fragile Handle, i do agree that , the handle could be a bit more sturdier, i do support the tray, when i remove it, just to ensure that the whole body has enough support and so that there aint too much strain on the handle mechanism, i am sure if the handle did break, ALDI would provide a refund, and then i would be without an Air fryer, which aint optimum.
perhaps being a bit more careful will give it the longevity that is expected on the hardware.
i just cant get over the space available, really awesome.
It's okay – It's alright. I've used the Kmart air fryer and have this one as well since I wanted a larger size. What sets this air fryer apart from competitors is the oven style design compared to basket designs but it comes with it's pros and cons. Pros: -You can see progress of the food through the window. Also has a light function. -Cool little knob which… Read more
you can turn to adjust time and temp. For some reason, when it reaches 200 degrees (max) a further turn to the right will go to 65 degrees (min). I don't really like the temp going back to the start. -Bunch of accessories like a basket, rotisserie and trays
Cons: -Harder to clean. Unlike basket designs where you can bring the whole basket and clean it, you have to get in the air fryer yourself to clean this oven. Having accessories also means you have to clean those too (trays or whatever). I've had instances where if there's too much oil in the frying, it can leak out of the air fryer from the bottom. -More accessories means more options, but you have more clatter around the house. There are just some accessories you'll probably never use and forget where they are. -Despite being bigger, it doesn't work well when trying to air fry things in two layers. The bottom layer always suffers as it doesn't have much exposure to the surface area. Everybody on the top floor is enjoying the party and the basement can enjoy no sun if you know what I mean.
In the end, I still think basket design air fryers work better. You just have a basket, put things in and take things out. Cleaning is a bit easier and you don't have accessories floating everywhere. The bigger size was supposed to be the draw for this device, but if I can't air fry things in two layers then it isn't as useful for me.
I give it a solid 3/5. It's perhaps good for those who want to air fry large single food items that won't fit in a basket.

Prefct product for busy home – It is a great product and have 3 year warranty which makes it a real value for money at $149, both steam and airfryer functions work perfectly, With Aldi products not available to buy always, grab it when it is available, it is worth the money Show details
A wonderful cooker for grandparents – A lady in Aldis encouraged us to purchase an air fryer, she said she loved hers, so we bought it. My husband and I are getting tired of cooking but the air fryer made it so easy. Now when my little grandkids come over I can cook sausage or chicken nuggets in 15 minutes with no bother or splashing. Easy to clean too. We tried scones and they were delicious. Show details
Fantastic – Absolutely brilliant I got it on special pay rise for $19 I think and I couldn’t be happier it works so well it’s very easy to clean I just popped the basket in the dishwasher Show details

Electrical fire – I was cooking 2 boneless chicken thighs and had turned them once after 9 minutes when smoke suddenly was pouring out of the top of the air fryer. Then there was a loud bang, flames shot out the back and even after quickly turning off the power there was no stopping the flames. Luckily I had a small fire extinguisher which doused the flames but… Read more
being in a unit we had 2 fire engines attend and a unit block full of toxic smoke. The bottom and back of the air fryer was melted onto my induction cooktop and plastic was splatted up the tiled splash-back. I recommend caution if you have one of these air fryers.

$59 AU is not expensive – $59 AU is not expensive. I live alone and this has made cooking for one a lot more interesting with roast dinners not involving so much waste or time. Heating sausages and cooking pork and vegetables is easier while making sure excess fats are drained to the bottom of the dish while cooking. A lot more to discover Im sure. Show details

Very disappointed that it has developed a fault – Actually bought ours in 2021, but this is the right model. I absolutely love it - much more practical than the $400 Philips I bought a few years ago with the pull out drawer (way too small to cook anything but a few chips). Aldi's cooks beautifully, although I don't bother with the chip drum after trying it out once. BUT the unit has just… Read more
developed a fault (door switch?) as the screen now refuses to show the settings when we close the door. Can't see an obvious failure point. Very disappointed as I really don't want to take it back.
Loving it one of the best – I’m loving my air fryer,I use it everyday with no fail.chicken burgers chips pizza pies etc.been using air fryer for a few years and this is one of the best A++ Show details
Be warned – Was great in every respect, except the handle kept loosening about every few months. Poor design how basket attaches to the handle, very small screws. Finally stripped the screws to plastic handle. Could not be repaired. $38 to replace section, so instead just bought another brand. Show details
Love it, but it's going back – I am really impressed with this and hate to say goodbye to it. However, the door is not closing fully which means it just won't go. It's really frustrating because I would love to have it replaced but know that this is almost impossible because of the Aldi refund only policy. Show details
DO NOT BUY ! – Worst air fryer. I got a refund as it burnt all my meals I tried to make. I should have read reviews beforehand. Do not purchase! I was so excited about this purchase too as I love Aldi but I have also heard other airfryers sold there weren't great. Show details
Read reviews before buying – Absolute rubbish! Lined up for 45 minutes before opening to get this overpriced garbage that never worked. Will return it tomorrow morning. the only difference with air fryers and oven is the pre-heat time. Aldi air fryer has made my decision that I'm better off without one
Poor design, too top heavy – Very poor design, very top heavy and the feet do not grip well, meaning that the door is near on impossible to open unless you hold the whole machine down to stop it tipping over or sliding. Show details
Not to bad but has problems – The main and major pronlem is that the ttsys do not fit properly! During cooking when wanting to examine food, after sliding the nesh tray out it falls down...the heat has affecfed the shape slightly. Most frustating! Show details
Great quality at a reasonable price – This airfryer is the perfect size for 1-2 people. I'm new to air frying and purchased this on a whim in March 2021 and have been using this several times a week!
