Wanted lawn, not straw – Very disappointed with quality of product - Received “lawn” that was effectively mostly just dried out/dead or dying, only a small amount of the turf has a tinge of green when the “grass” is wet. The “good” ones are still extremely dry and show minimal colour. Called to express my concerns and told this is normal (it’s not - I’ve purchased turf… Read more
before) and to keep watering for 6 weeks and it will grow back. I believe I had paid for lawn to be delivered, not 3 pallets of dried out seconds/dead stock. Was promised “we only cut the day of delivery” but very clearly it wasn’t, or their QC is so low they don’t care. Then was told to send an email with pictures to an address that wouldn’t deliver. Very disappointed with their product this time and their customer service response - Leaves no other option but to leave a bad review. Hopefully someone in their company cares enough to read this and make contact.
Bad customer service – Just received poor customer service, Was told delivery & pick up dates where fine & they would accommodate (pick up I had to be quick to order or I would miss the date) to now be told they now wont fulfill my required dates it was either accept a new day or get a refund. Lack of empathy is not a way in treating people when clearly you have made the changes. Not happy :(
Dreadful Customer Service, Poor Product – After extensive research on kikuyu lawn seed I contact Anco to discuss my options and was advised to purchase 100% Kikuyu lawn seed. Two small handfuls arrived in a large bucket, and it promoted 400 sq m coverage. How two small handfuls can cover that area is beyond me, so I contacted Anco to discuss. The person I spoke to sighed, yawned, and… Read more
promised to get someone else to call me. That never happened. I called again and spoke to someone else, who couldn't answer my question either. So I rang the Geelong store for a third crack, but the person there was most unhelpful also. Seems customers are a distraction for Anco staff.
So I spread out the seeds over my 5 sq me area. Watered 3 times daily, keeping the area moist. Two weeks later I still have dirt, the seeds haven't done anything. Waste of time and money.

Rubbish... don't waste your money – I must say that some of them are really good. However, it is about 1/3 of the total amount. Rest is just a pile of rubbish. Main issues are 1. Huge patches in some of the sods (no grass at all) 2. No soil in some areas 3. Damaged sods 4. Uneven thickness (possibly cut using two different sod cutters) 5. Old sods which were harvested probably a day… Read more
or two before the delivery. Otherwise why some of them are really good and some of them, (2/3 is really bad) bad.
Save your money – Purchased instant turf from Anco in Geelong for a client in 2018. On unrolling the product I discovered that half of the turf was already dead or dying. Some of the turf actually fell apart as it had black beetles in it. When I called I found that the quality of customer service matched the product when they finally answered the phone. informed me that they need to see the turf at the site before providing a refund. Although, they wouldn't attend the site. And they apparently sprayed for black beetles. Good job Anco. Don't be sucked in by their so-called 10 year warranty.
I replaced the Anco product with Sir Walter Buffalo from Coolabah Turf who delivered from Echuca the day after calling. It cost a little extra, but the quality of both Anco's products and service didn't even compare.
